Chapter 75: Chapter 75 The Day of Shooting the Avatar
No way, dude!
Steeran looked at the Holy Light Knight lying dead on the ground, his face filled with a storm of emotions, thinking:
How did you just die like that?
What’s most astonishing is that the corpse of the Holy Light Knight wasn’t teleported away; it just lay there quietly.
Did this guy forget to bring a Teleportation Crystal or what?
Steeran’s face was full of frustration. Everyone was quickly catching the enemy’s weaknesses in combat, and victory seemed only a matter of time. But the death of the Holy Light Knight meant they had to divert manpower to deal with Left Bow’s Avatar, and the pressure suddenly skyrocketed.
And...
She stared at the Arrow stuck in the chest of the Holy Light Knight, there were dozens of them.
And Left Bow’s Avatar, holding an ordinary-looking long bow in the left hand, a crossbow in the right, and a Dragon Hunting Bow strapped on his back.
Wait, where did he shoot all those Arrows from?
Steeran thought she was already a master archer as an Upper Tier Ranger, but she could only manage to shoot less than ten Arrows in an instant. How did Left Bow’s Avatar manage so many?
There really is always someone better.
She took a deep breath and chose to continue helping Leon and Swift Slash engage, as Swift Slash was too nimble; if she didn’t use her bow and Arrow to distract from afar, Leon couldn’t catch the enemy.
"Maru, go help Merca," Leon also noticed the situation on that side and instructed while suppressing Swift Slash’s Avatar.
"Are you going to be alright, boss?" Maru asked worriedly, her gaze shifting between the two battlefields.
"No problem at all!"
"Alright then, I’m heading over,"
On the Left Bow’s side, Merca was chasing after the enemy, throwing Flying Knives while running, but the Avatar was so agile that hitting it with three or four out of ten Flying Knives was already lucky.
After using some unknown Combat Skill to quickly assassinate the Holy Light Knight, the Avatar, pursued by Merca with a long stick, couldn’t find an opportunity to use its technique and could only run around the battlefield.
Despite wearing bulky armor, the Avatar’s speed was top-notch. Merca had to exert himself just to catch up, and as soon as he got close enough to hit, the Avatar used obstacles and everything usable around the battlefield to once again increase the distance.
Flame Cultivator was also helping. Aside from buffing, he kept tossing Fireballs, but unfortunately, he wasn’t very accurate.
Seeing Maru coming over to help, Merca smiled and said, "Let’s sandwich him from front and back!"
Maru nodded, and with Merca, they formed a both-sides trap around Left Bow’s Avatar, leaving him with nowhere to go!
"Die,"
Merca leaped up, and his long stick smashed down heavily.
"Boom—"
Hearing the noise, Roger turned his head and laughed, "Looks like they are about to finish over there; we need to step up too,"
Tal panted and nodded, his eyes fiercely fixed on the Tachi’s Avatar.
The latter had a hole cut into its chest, oddly reminiscent of ’Death God’, but even though it was severely wounded, it was still firmly holding the Tachi and even assumed a Sword Drawing Slash stance, keeping an eye on Tal as well.
Tal and Tachi’s compatibility was terrible; Tal’s size had increased, giving him a monstrous appearance, and Tachi was a specialist in hunting monsters.
Therefore, techniques like Kasaya Slash could deal immense damage; if it weren’t for Drew focussing on healing from a distance, Tal would have already collapsed.
"Stick to the same tactic," Roger swept a weapon that was a Magic Wand on one end and a thrusting sword at the other, and their figures immediately vanished—triggering Invisibility.
"Why am I not the tank..." Tal grumbled before screaming and charging forward.
"After we get out, I’ll treat you to the Enchanting Demon Store, okay?" Roger’s voice gradually faded.
Even though he was invisible, why was he still shouting? That’s also part of the tactic!
Tachi’s Avatar sensed Tal’s position through the noise, but he didn’t rush to attack. Instead, he fiercely swung his blade in a big circular motion!
But his blade hit nothing but air!
Before he could react, Tal had already pounced, and even if he couldn’t see it, he could feel the massive pressure.
Tachi’s Avatar hurriedly executed a Kasaya Slash, using a back-step just in the nick of time to dodge the pounce, but the ground’s vibrations caused him to temporarily lose his balance.
"[Mud Transformation]!" Perry had been prepared for this moment with the Spell; the rocks under the Avatar’s feet suddenly melted into mud!
"Sploosh—"
Roger certainly wouldn’t miss this golden opportunity; with a swift thrust, his sword pierced through the Avatar’s waist, causing intense pain that immediately stiffened its body.
But Roger didn’t pursue the victory; instead, he struck once and quickly retreated, leaving the battlefield for Tal to exploit as he continued to look for opportunities to steal a strike.
Is this even a Magician anymore? Might as well call him a Magic assassin!
Soon after, Steeran’s Avatar, with its rich experience in monster hunting, was tragically defeated, becoming the first of the three Avatars to fall.
There was no choice; Roger’s use of Invisibility was simply too slick.
Meanwhile, Leon’s battle was also nearing its end.
The Avatar of Swift Slash had its back filled with Arrows, looking exactly like a hedgehog, and its front was covered with numerous sword wounds, dripping with fresh blood.
Yet even with such severe injuries, it decisively assumed the Swift Slash stance.
We should repeat the Swift Slash for a lifetime, shouldn’t we?
Throughout the fight, it didn’t use any other techniques, not even a basic attack.
Leon, holding his battered shield, closely watched the Avatar’s movements, knowing the shield would retire after this battle.
When the Avatar used Swift Slash, the mere force of Steeran’s Arrows wasn’t enough to interrupt its action, so both of them tactically targeted the recovery phase of Swift Slash.
At the moment right after releasing Swift Slash, Steeran’s Charged Arrow was shot, indeed causing it to stiffen momentarily, and that’s when Leon charged forward with a five-hit combo with his Straight Sword.
When the Avatar released Combat Skill again, Leon raised his shield to block, still suffering cuts from the Sword Energy, but the shield was the best option he had at the moment.
Suddenly, the Avatar changed direction, charging towards Steeran!
Dangerous! Leon noticed the anomaly, diving in front of Steeran just a second before the Swift Slash was initiated!
The tremendous impact hit him, and even with the shield, his organs felt horrible.
The assassination attempt of the Avatar failed, and it was once again repelled by the two, who slowly wore down the Avatar of Swift Slash until -
When a Charged Arrow hit the Avatar’s knee, it could no longer hold on and collapsed straight down.
Its body dissipated like ash, leaving behind a purple light point.
Light points were fatally attractive to adventurers, but at this moment, everyone’s attention was only on the last remaining Avatar - the Avatar of Left Bow.
Merca’s strike couldn’t finish it off; instead, the Avatar of Left Bow unleashed its Combat Skill, facing damage.
A barrage of Arrows followed, and even though Merca spun his staff defensively, his shoulder was still penetrated.
The reaction speed of the Avatar of Left Bow was incomparable to the other two; breaking away with a hit, it continued to use Left Bow’s Continuous Shooting while escaping, giving Merca and Maru a hard time.
"I’m here to help!"
Tal shouted as he bravely charged at the Avatar, only to be turned into a sieve by its shots.
Such a big target, isn’t this just asking to be shot...
Leon tried to mount a sneak attack amidst the barrage, but at that moment, his shield suddenly shattered; it had borne too many blows and could finally rest from battle.
While people were chasing and intercepting the Avatar of Left Bow everywhere, someone unexpected made a move.
"Ha-ha!"
When the Avatar passed by the corpse of the Holy Light Knight, his eyes suddenly opened, and he burst forth, tightly embracing the enemy.
"Well done!" the Flame Cultivator couldn’t help but praise, as he threw a Fireball, perfectly impacting and blowing the Avatar’s head off!
With this, all three Avatars were completely annihilated!
What a thoroughly exhilarating fight.
However, not everyone thought so.
Repeat Combat Skills, Left Bow’s shooting, running around chaotically...
The combat experience was extremely poor.
Leon thought for a moment, then pointing his index finger in the direction where the Avatar of Left Bow had disappeared, awkwardly employing the gesture.
This was the first time he made such a gesture, yet, somehow, at that moment, he felt somewhat gratified.
Steeran let out a huge sigh of relief, walking over to pick up the light point left by Swift Slash’s Avatar.
