Chapter 466: Chapter 323: The Intern Knight of the Dark Moon Knight Order_2

There aren’t many items inside that qualify to produce light points. They spent longer than anticipated thoroughly searching all the houses along the way. The most valuable finds were two rings—the [Magic Power Square Stone Ring] and the [Fire Square Stone Ring], which could enhance resistance against corresponding attribute damage.

Aside from these, there were various soul blocks of different sizes—not useless, but less surprising.

Among them were a myriad of small trinkets, including tableware distinctive of Yilushier, bottles and jars, and jewelry, ranging from everyday items to luxury goods, clearly appealing to the tastes of nobles and collectors from the outside world.

It seems these house interiors were prepared by Gong Qiying for the nobles, who would certainly hire adventurers to find ways to get in to acquire these items.

Leaving the house, they proceeded cautiously along the alleyway. Leon reached the end of the road and peeked out to find that they had already left the Fire Execution Witch on the bridge far behind.

Could this street be crossed all the way?

Leon felt something was off, as the bridge where the Fire Execution Witch was situated clearly could be accessed via the buildings, yet they had failed to find it earlier.

Given that they only walked through the alley on the right side, perhaps there was a way to approach the Fire Execution Witch from the left.

Leon took note of this and focused his gaze on the road’s end, where a towering iron gate stood impeding access to the massive altar and plaza.

This square was not far from the Great Cathedral at the town center.

And upon the altar, a corpse-like figure seemed to be enshrined.

That’s unimportant; what’s crucial is that there were golden light points present on the corpse!

Golden legend!

Leon’s breathing intensified for a moment, but he calmed down upon seeing the locked iron gate. He gave it a push.

[Cannot be opened from this side]

"I knew it..."

Perhaps using the Flying Skill, one could cross over the iron gate, but who knows if the light points might vanish because of it?

"So, it means finding another way to enter, then."

Just as he was thinking this, Maru suddenly remarked, "I hear a cry for help coming from the east."

The east?

The group moved toward the sound and found several mutated hounds snarling around a house, with a child’s sobbing voice coming from behind the door.

Is it a residual shadow?

Leon dealt with the hounds, then knocked on the door.

"Was it you who saved me?" The child’s voice behind the door was trembling, likely from fright.

"Yes, why are you here? Did you get separated from an adventurer team?"

"Adventurers? No, I came to find my brother. He’s an apprentice knight of the Dark Moon Knight Order. I haven’t heard of any adventurers..."

As suspected, it’s a residual shadow.

Upon confirming the identity, Leon began inquiring, and despite the child’s fear, he managed to extract some useful information through patient reassurance.

"The Dark Moon Knight Order is a group hunting traitors against the divine. My brother is one of the apprentice knights, but he hasn’t sent any letters home for a long time. I sneaked out to find him without my family’s knowledge, but had no idea Yilushier was already..."

"Had it not been for an onion-like uncle rescuing me, I’d be dead by now."

Onion? It must be Jack Baldor; didn’t expect him to be here as well.

Leon certainly knew of the Onion Knight by the well at Deep Church’s entrance, having taken care of Patch to return the armor to the Onion Knight.

By the way, the Dark Moon Knight Order sounds awfully familiar... Oh yes, at the Reyalucaria Magic Academy’s Underground Maze, this faction’s blessing existed alongside the Tomb King, the Sun, and others.

Rumor has it the Dark Moon Knight Order made a Dark Moon Oath, loyal to Gwendolin, the Shadow Sun, but underwent some change, rendering it nonexistent.

So perhaps the sibling of the child behind the door is also...

Let’s not ponder how the child managed to enter Yilushier, it’s clear he couldn’t survive alone in this perilous city. Leon tentatively asked if he needed help.

Leon had a feeling this was akin to a series of events like the "Warrior Pot."

"I’m scared to go out, and please don’t break the door... Oh, could you help me find armor from those bad guys outside? If I can wear it, perhaps I could slip out unnoticed."

"Or is there a safe place you could tell me about? If so, I can offer information in exchange."

"What information?"

"Do you see the large iron door to the west? If it can be opened, it leads directly to the city’s most terrifying individual. I know of a secret path that bypasses it."

"Alright, stay right here and we’ll surely come back to help you."

"By the way, where did that onion uncle go?" Maru asked, clearly having taken a liking to the Onion Knight’s trusty appearance.

Regrettably, the child didn’t know, merely shaking his head in disappointment.

The child mentioned acquiring enemy armor, meaning either Fire Execution Witch’s or Pope Knights’ armor would work.

But this implied Leon and the group must spend time farming gear.

Both enemy armors were of decent quality, making their drop rates low, suggesting collecting a full set could be challenging.

What’s with this situation? Is Sain Dungeon designed to delay adventurers’ "online time" intentionally?

For this reason, Leon and company made a return trip, managing to ascend the bridge from the alley on the opposite side of the avenue, defeating three Fire Execution Witches atop.

Along the way, they also vanquished two Pope Knights and a bunch of Transparent Men, only obtaining one [Fire Execution Witch Hand Armor].

At that point, even Maru, usually the most empathetic with residual shadows, couldn’t help but say:

"Why not explore the map first? Let the equipment come as it may..."

They really had no choice; tackling monsters here might mean never assembling a full set of gear.

After inspecting, it’s clear that their current avenue could be viewed as part of a southern crossroad, though blocked by the iron gate to the north, leaving only east and west passages accessible.

Standing centered at the iron gate, they faced a dilemma, eventually resolving it by throwing a stone to choose the eastern path, passing by the child’s house.

Pope Knights, which elsewhere in dungeons might be elite monsters, were everywhere willy-nilly, indicating Yilushier sacrificed quantity for quality in its monsters.

Initially, the eastern avenue’s layout resembled the southern side.

However, as they ventured deeper, a strange sense stirred within.

The roads seemed to open wider, temperatures plummeted, and despite the Warm Grass Fruit’s effects, they felt the severe cold.

When the road became twice as wide as it initially was, even a fool could sense something amiss.

Everyone knows, once you discover widened terrain within Sain Dungeon, either some remote attack-type monster has targeted you, or else—

The wind howling, frost bursting with luminescence in the night, heavy footsteps paired with beastly breaths resonated in the air, exuding an aura of chilling menace.

A colossal creature lay crouched down, shedding its invisibility, with cold emanating from the large hammer it held. Its shape resembled both man and beast, but ultimately, it was a Pope Knight transformed into a beast.

[Dorpo of Cold Valley]

Gong Qiying got the name right.
