Chapter 450: Chapter 315 Attack on Titan and "Onion Knight
The giant, a race in the surface world as rare as the giant dragon, refers here to the pure-blooded giant.
Just like the giant dragon has various mixed bloodline sub-species passed down over time, the surface world is scattered with creatures holding traces of giant ancestry, generally characterized by a height of three to four meters, a robust and wildly fierce physique.
A giant over ten meters tall is considered a rare creature, and the Hasavi Team has only seen one once, several years ago.
Now, inside the Deep Church, the giant slave appearing before them was even larger than the one seen years ago.
"This... must be over twenty meters tall?"
When the giant slave stood up, its colossal head was close to the adventurers, its expression concealed by rough iron armor, yet the sense of pressure was greater.
The members of the Bone Stick Team were so awed that their mouths gaped wide enough to fit an egg, an instinctive reverence towards the colossal creature. Apart from those with tremendous strength, a larger size often signifies greater power.
"He’s going to slam down!"
A shout rings out as the giant slave raises its hand, bringing forth a series of foul-smelling, rotten mud, and its massive hand crushes down with a gust of wind!
"Let them see it, Matilda!" Fingerley suddenly shouted excitedly.
"Huh?"
"Just a giant, watch us push it back!"
Matilda was speechless, simply kicking Fingerley flying tens of meters to avoid the giant’s hand.
"Boom!"
The whole second floor trembled; perhaps the Deep Church’s construction quality was excellent, as this earth-shattering slam only caused it to sway slightly.
But if it fell on a person, internal organs would likely be smashed out!
The Bone Stick Team members were all too scared to breathe, while Matilda regretted not holding back a bit to let this "creative thinker" get hit.
The giant slave’s massive size did not hinder its speed; in a blink, it completely stood up, one arm sweeping horizontally while the other arm slamming towards the people.
Aleya was lost in observing the giant slave’s posture, momentarily forgetting to dodge until Matilda pulled her aside.
"Run now, don’t just stand there stupidly!"
Apart from the open space, the second floor contained a labyrinth of interiors, passing through those doorways could lead inside.
Once inside a doorway blocking the giant’s sight, they wouldn’t have to worry about attacks!
The Bone Stick Team chased Matilda’s back desperately, the giant slamming behind them, the entire church rumbling, attracting even distant enemies to approach.
The dungeon is realistically attracting monsters with various noises, unlike games with predetermined aggro ranges.
A scene resembling a temple run was unfolding, the giant slave stepping covering dozens of adventurers’ steps, able to smash with its arms and throw things along the way. A mage was unfortunately struck in the back, instantly paralyzed.
As the giant’s hand reached for him, a flash streaked through the air, and Fingerley raised the knife handle towards the giant, shouting passionately: "Flash Technique!"
Curse Binder doesn’t wear glasses, so the giant slave must have some!
"Roar!"
The giant slave let out a painful groan, clutching its eyes and staggering, Fingerley took the chance to carry the mage and run.
"This way!" Tusi and others had already squeezed into a doorway, waving towards Fingerley.
"Thank you for saving me, Mr. Fingerley." The mage said shamefully, "Sorry for holding you back. If it weren’t for us, you would have cleared this place by now."
"You weren’t any drag; everyone has their use." As the mage presumed Fingerley intended encouraging words, he suddenly pulled out an Image Stone and handed it to him, saying:
"As a return for saving your life, you must record my handsome combat stance. Years later, it will be my beautiful memories."
The mage was taken aback, then nodded vigorously, a look of "leave it to me."
Upon entering the doorframe, the giant indeed halted its chase, but Fingerley’s Flash Technique had enraged it.
At this moment, it blocked the people’s hiding room door, seemingly resenting everyone.
Tusi gave the mage two sips from an Elemental Bottle, reviving him instantly like a magical elixir, healing spinal fracture indiscriminately, although more damage requires more consumption.
"What now, the giant’s blocking the door."
"Isn’t there a route in the room? Let’s try going deeper."
There’s always a way out; although the entrance is blocked, inside the Deep Church is complex, where each room is connected to something else. If they keep walking, they might find an exit.
Moments later.
"It’s a dead end!"
Now it seemed they were trapped.
"I should’ve realized, this room is the first hiding spot after encountering the giant. People would immediately opt to enter here, possibly provoking the giant in the room when knowing it can’t reach them!" Tusi’s mind raced as if he had an epiphany.
"When the giant fully hates people, and there’s no other way but facing the giant upon return, that despairing feeling..."
