Chapter 434: Chapter 306: Falling to death is the standard end for every exile
The Holy Exile can run, but rolling or dodging is impossible; he can’t even bend over easily.
Gong Qiying was merciful in this regard, not giving the Holy Exile the Havier’s ring or the Great Pot Martial Amulet, which could enhance carrying capacity. Otherwise, Maru would by now see a heavy-armored, dual-wielding hunk chasing her relentlessly, moving as effortlessly and quickly as she does.
Due to different focuses in training, Leon alone could easily handle the Exile wielding a greatsword, but Maru needed to cooperate with Tal to contain the Holy Exile and dared not confront him head-on.
Those two molten iron hammers, bigger than a person, make anyone hesitate to engage; getting hit once might shove your head into your stomach.
On the newbie map, encountering a stats monster, dual-wielding big drumsticks as strong as monsters, giving it everything yet unable to defeat it.
The strategy was quickly devised. Drew would use [Mud Swamp Technique], [Vine Technique], [Lightning Trap], and other magics to delay the Holy Exile’s movements. Tal was responsible for restraining the enemy and attempting to break armor using blunt weapons, while Maru would stay on the sidelines, either attacking gaps in the heavy armor or waiting for Tal to damage the opponent’s armor.
This strategy worked quite effectively at first. Whether heavy armor or the two molten iron hammers, they made the Holy Exile’s weight reach an astonishing number. After Drew cast several luring spells in succession, successfully drawing him into the Mud Swamp Technique’s range. Turning the ground into a muddy swamp, the technique proved perfect for him; he couldn’t pull his legs out for the moment.
This allowed Tal to take the opportunity to switch his weapon to a Nail Head Hammer, shouting aloud as he turned into a green-skinned orc, shouting "Waaaagh!" while striking fiercely at the opponent’s head!
The heavy armor produced by Sain was indeed tough; under the heavy blows of the Nail Head Hammer, it only left a shallow dent on the surface, but the immense kinetic energy surely transmitted to the priest’s head, causing it to halt its actions once again.
Maru appeared behind him, pulling out a poisoned dagger to stab into the gap in the heavy armor; the priest’s body was unexpectedly slim, with a layer of void between it and the armor’s surface. The void was filled with cotton and chain armor, into which the dagger couldn’t penetrate!
Yet, a competent assassin must consider the situation from multiple angles. The dagger in her hand wasn’t a simple one; it was an enchanted weapon. Injecting magic power could generate a magic blade, extending its attack range. The more magic injected, the greater the power!
Thus, after the magician used at least four spells, the berserker released a Fury Skill, and the assassin consumed a quarter of her magic reserves...
They finally managed to inflict a slight scratch on the Holy Exile’s body.
"Boom!"
The priest turned a kick and sent Maru flying, who hadn’t pulled out the dagger yet, while the molten iron hammer in his hand smashed down directly towards Tal!
"Mud Swamp Technique!"
Seeing no way to escape, the ground beneath Tal’s feet suddenly turned into an even muddier swamp, and he got hammered directly into it!
When the priest wanted to strike again, the ground suddenly hardened. Smashing down again, Tal had already disappeared, seemingly transferred away.
He looked up at Drew, realizing it was all this man’s doing, and therefore rushed towards him quickly.
"Not good, Drew is in danger!"
Maru threw a flying knife towards the priest, but there was no way to attract his attention. In desperation, she glanced at Leon not far away and suddenly grabbed something from his waist.
"Boss, I’ll borrow this!"
"Wait a minute!"
She threw a dung pot towards the priest. With a "bang", the foul odor spread everywhere, and the liquid flowed along the gaps in the armor!
The priest turned silently, although not speaking, his killing intent skyrocketed, charging towards Maru like an out-of-control tank.
Hey, why does it feel like he suddenly became more berserk? He shouldn’t be that mad, right?
Leon dodged the Exile’s greatsword slashing with resignation, saying, "That’s my special dung pot with luring magic added."
"Huh?"
Mary was stunned; she originally intended to rely on herself and Drew to pull the priest, but now...
Wouldn’t the priest just pursue her relentlessly?
Watching Maru flee around chased by the enraged priest, Leon didn’t know what expression to make; all he could do was handle the Exile first and then go help Maru.
The Exile’s greatsword, highly favored in Dark Souls III, is quite suitable for beginners to progress through the game entirely with it.
But when materialized into the Dungeon, it’s just a reasonably good-feeling, solidly built excellent weapon, unable to compare with the Reverse Sword carrying annoying combat skills like [Dead Angle Strike] or [Swift Slash]. When Leon used Swift Slash, the Exile couldn’t even touch him.
In the end, it’s a victim of its era; its own combat skill [Swirling Slash] can only be said to be mediocre. Good normal attack feel doesn’t matter if it can’t hit the enemy.
It might be popular with adventurers whose career specialties are powerful and durable, but only in battles against monsters.
If one wants to fight today’s Sain adventurers who use crazy player versus player tactics all over the place... they can only hope for the best.
Surging Sword Qi erupted continuously; Leon would always appear behind the Exile. Despite the Exile’s very thick armor, it would still stagger when struck by the Sword Qi explosion from the Swift Slash, and the armor became ragged.
