Who Designed This Underworld Dungeon? -
Chapter 39 Harvest Season
Chapter 39: Chapter 39 Harvest Season
It turns out, profit is directly proportional to risk.
After crossing the Milk River and leaving the safe area, Huynh and his team were attacked within a few steps.
It was a wild boar bigger than a tank, truth be told everything in this area, both animals and plants, was oversized. Apart from being huge, nothing else came to mind.
[Roasted Whole Pig]

"This Monster looks delicious!"
The roasted whole pig was emanating steam from its body, scorching anyone who got too close. Upon seeing Huynh and others, the Monster became agitated, exuding even hotter steam, and the meat aroma became more intense!
After a somewhat difficult battle, with the roasted whole pig dead, two members of the Hammer Fall Team injured, and Huynh bitten by the pig, the fight concluded.
This Monster’s combat power wasn’t strong; ten healthy ordinary people with weapons could defeat it, though casualties were inevitable.
While others were busy dividing the spoils, Danya fell into deep thought.
"What are you thinking about?" Ellie asked.
He fiddled with a blood-stained dagger, speaking in a strange tone, "This pig... stabbing it felt good, no, not just good, I should say I’ve never stabbed a Monster with meat quality this fine, it’s kind of addictive,"
Ellie quietly stepped two paces away from him.
"What principle allows this Monster to survive?" asked Chiraj after treating the injured, circling the roasted whole pig and marveling, "It roasted itself, how could it still be alive?"
After much hesitation, he sliced off a piece of meat from the roasted whole pig and savored it carefully.
"Hmm..."
Everyone watched for his reaction.
Chiraj opened his eyes and declared, "It’s absolutely high-quality roasted pork!"
The entire body of the roasted whole pig was fragrant and steaming hot meat, perfectly fine to eat directly. The only pity was that the battle lasted a bit long, causing the roasted whole pig to emit more steam and slightly charring most of the meat.
Everyone, driven by curiosity, tried a bit, leading to uncontrollable feasting right then and there around the roasted whole pig.
Even without any seasoning, the roasted meat was intensely flavorful.
Chiraj suddenly had a quirky thought and grabbed a soy sauce cricket, dipped the roasted meat in the soy sauce on its back, and upon tasting it nearly burst his clothes with delight.
He felt he had discovered the correct way to use the food region—combining different ingredients to find the most suitable menu for himself!
"Sain Dungeon is truly magical," the frail Priest said while eating, "I’ve never read about a Monster that can roast itself in books,"
"Milk River, chocolate fountains, pudding mushrooms, trees bearing roasted meat... I’ve only heard about these in fairy tales," Ellie said happily, suggesting, "How about we come here for a big meal after exploring every day, it saves us money on food,"
Danya raised both hands in approval, Huynh, with his mouth full of roasted meat, mumbled an unclear "Agreed,"
"I wonder what Steeran is doing; missing out big time."
After eating and drinking their fill, the two teams continued their exploration.
The food-themed area was not smaller than the swamp area, but the density of tools was greater than in the swamp area, which allowed the adventurers to make new discoveries every few steps: bats hanging from trees with broccoli growing on their tails, mice scurrying by with their bodies covered in crispy fries, and ordinary mushrooms that had the sticky texture of pig trotters, rich in collagen.
There were simply too many new things; initially, they carefully documented each new species they discovered, but eventually, they ran out of ink, and still, new ingredients continued to appear incessantly.
They were overwhelmed by the sheer novelty.
It felt like the adventurer’s guild hadn’t discovered as many new species in the past year as they had in just one day here.
Then, the two teams’ exploration faced an unprecedented crisis—
They were too full...
As they walked and ate, they encountered very few monsters, and there wasn’t enough physical activity to aid digestion, causing everyone’s stomachs to slightly bulge.
With no choice, they had to take a brief rest under a tree.
"Let’s, *burp*, sum things up..." Danya lay unceremoniously on the grass, surrounded by the fragrant scent of beef tongue dandelions, but she really couldn’t eat anymore.
"Alright..."
As Chiraj rubbed his stomach, he took out a notebook. He and Ellie had been recording all sorts of discoveries along the way.
"For now, let’s name the area from the cave to the Milk River as the safe zone and the area beyond the Milk River as the danger zone,"
"So far, we’ve identified 46 new species in the safe zone, including both plants and animals. I estimate the actual number far exceeds our findings; I guess there are at least a hundred,"
Ellie added, "All of the new species are edible. It seems like everything we’ve discovered so far is only valuable as food. We haven’t found any materials that could be used to make magic tools, nor any treasure chests. It feels like this place was made just for gourmets,"
Chiraj continued, "The Milk River is home to gigantic aquatic creatures and also houses unusual aquatic plants. However, since nobody here is particularly good with water, we haven’t explored underwater,"
"We’ll leave that to those who come after us," Danya spoke, "We can’t achieve perfection,"
Ellie, flipping through the notebook with interest, said, "From what we see, there’s a complete ecology here. Just after crossing the Milk River, you initially encounter roasted whole pigs and some small creatures. After walking for about half an hour, you come across bread lions and giant crocodiles that feed on the roasted pigs,"
"The crocodile resides near a river wider than the Milk River. Following the river, you can find a lake. Just by looking near the surface, you can see a diverse range of colorful fish. Strangely, the closer to the lake, the safer it gets, with only some harmless small creatures,"
"This place might become a fishing paradise in the future," she joked.
It seems the entire food-themed area uses the river as a boundary line. Crossing the river where crocodiles reside leads to a more dangerous area, where even members of the Morning Wind Team feel the danger and inevitable tough battles.
But the mammoth plant at the end was too tempting, driving the adventurers forward by their very nature.
Perhaps the area from Milk River to Crocodile River could be renamed the low danger area.
Chiraj closed the notebook, sighing, "Even normal people could come here, maybe hiring one or two adventurers as bodyguards would be enough to ensure safety."
He had collected many ingredients along the way, planning to sell them at a good price.
"Dong... Dong..."
The melodious sound of a bell came from afar, and only then did everyone realize that it was time to close the Dungeon.
"Time flies," Ellie’s tone was somewhat reluctant, "I don’t want to leave,"
The others felt the same way; some even contemplated living here.
"Too bad," Huynh looked towards the faraway giant plant, his gaze filled with regret.
With the last bell sound, the figures of the adventurers blurred and vanished without a trace.
