Chapter 371: After the change: Chapter 273 Trick, Counter-Trick
Outside the Light Eagle Group’s Teleportation Gate, people were packed like sardines.
The crowd had gathered to watch the so-called competition, with most being mercenaries since this was their main turf, alongside adventurers and residents from nearby cities.
This Teleportation Gate was situated between two cities: one being the Royal City, and the other named "Garden City" Kadiya, as it served as the Royal City’s backyard, thriving on its beautiful sceneries and tourism, boasting a population that rivaled the Royal City, far surpassing Bed City.
Thanks to the strategic promotion by the Light Eagle Group, nearby folks were well aware of the competition. Due to the big city’s pride, trust in the master, and confidence in the Light Eagle Group’s reputation, over ninety percent of the onlookers supported Kent’s team.
As for Luluwo? Just some country bumpkin, nobody knew her.
It seemed that the illustrious Skyrim Strategy Group was only renowned in the Bed City region, losing recognition in the big city.
Recently, someone discovered that the bonfires at the Fire Transmission Ceremony and Casas Underground Tomb could be used for teleportation, but only after one had died once in Casas, automatically teleporting one to the local bonfire upon death there. People dubbed the bonfire’s location in the Underground Tomb as the [Tomb Room].
However, there was a catch – teleportation via bonfire caused a dizzy sensation, the reason for which remained unknown.
Gong Qiying: The cost of using bonfire teleportation is akin to half a death, so pump up the spiritual power!
Overall, the Skyrim Strategy Group was facing an away game, with little support. Added to the behind-the-scenes badmouthing by Kent’s team, resulted in no backers except adventurers from Bed City.
"Heh." Kent stroked his beard, enjoying the adulation from the crowd while casting a glance at Luluwo and her group, fully immersed in satisfaction.
Despite his advanced age, the old man still loved the spotlight. Unlike Gapar, this guy welcomed anyone’s praise.
No support, powerful enemies, challenging tasks... but if such difficulties could thwart Luluwo, it would indeed underestimate her!
"Old-timers with outdated strategy awareness, time to scrub up and burst your gold coins, there’s no ship for you in the new era!"
"Captain, don’t be so rash!" Tami’s voice was filled with alarm.
Luluwo flashed a very rock-and-roll middle finger at Kent, swiftly turned around and led her team into the Teleportation Gate before anyone could react.
"That woman—" Aston was about to chase after her in fury but was stopped by Kent with a somber look.
"Heh," Kent sneered, "Am I outdated? Having integrated hundreds of years of dungeon exploration experience, how could I be behind? Let’s go in too."
"Hurry up, we’re moving out!" shouted Aston.
For centuries, dungeon explorers followed the same set of experiences, how could they go wrong!
What is called ancestral methods is because they remain effective after so many years!
The nineteen people accompanying the Light Eagle Group were his loyal followers, ready to do whatever he commanded.
Passing through the Teleportation Gate, Kent and his followers arrived at the starting point named the Tomb Room, where an unlit bonfire awaited.
"Be careful, it’s said that after lighting the bonfire, you’ll uncontrollably see images, if it’s some spiritual influence magic..." Before Aston could finish his sentence, Kent had already lit the bonfire, saying: "What’s needed most in dungeon exploration is courage. Without the courage to face the unknown, you’re not worthy to be an explorer."
Aston was scolded and kept quiet, but before he could speak, the scene suddenly changed, a shock sent through his heart, displaying the Sain Dungeon series!
Usually rejecting the unknown, he now had no choice but to watch whatever the bonfire showed!
Grand and melancholic music, flames blazing and waning, King’s Soul possessors and the Ember King...
When the group finally broke free from the vision, their gazes were vacant, with some simply plopping down, mumbling incoherently.
Aston struggled to move, sensing that unlike others who felt the weight of history from the vision, he was filled with intense fear, a fear of immense power.
That slight aversion to the bonfire in his heart had now been magnified!
Suddenly, he saw Kent smiling with the joy of an old bloom, muttering:
"Interesting, my name must be on this dungeon’s First Clear Stone Stele!"
Kent suddenly felt a surge of motivation. If initially he had only reluctantly agreed to explore the dungeon, now he was genuinely serious!
"Move out!"
Jubilantly, the group marched out of the Tomb Room, diving deeper into the Casas Underground Tomb!
"I see, a typical cemetery-style dungeon. Undead Type monsters would dominate, bringing lots of Holy Water and anti-undead tools was indeed wise."
Upon stepping out of the Tomb Room and during the early exploration stage, Kent already adopted a professional attitude by analyzing and giving comments.
"Beware of any bone fragments along the way, every piece of bone might turn into a monster, including coffins and jars. One trait of Undead Type creatures is their unpredictability. Magicians, keep the Holy Light protection on promptly."
