Chapter 353: Chapter 262: I reckon this thing could be useful
Red Teeth flapped his wings, instantly bringing everyone’s view closer to the Eagle Capital Dungeon.
He flapped his wings again, and the silent Ancient City suddenly transformed into an ominous scene, with evil flames fiercely burning, a horde of large, dark monsters rampaging within. These were the Burning Demons.
They look particularly aligned with the traditional image of demons: giant gorilla-like bodies standing two to three meters tall, goat heads, legs with backward joints, bat wings, and an enigmatic slender black tail.
Fierce flames burn on them, revealing their true appearance only occasionally. Most of the time, they seem more fiery than the Fire Elements.
According to Red Teeth’s explanation, the Eagle Capital Dungeon is divided into two parts: above ground and underground. The Burning Demons above ground are few; the real bulk is underground.
Although Gong Qiying always found discussing the difference between above ground and underground in a dungeon somewhat odd.
The mission of this battle was straightforward. Red Teeth would continuously send out monsters called Flame Dragons to absorb the flames of the Burning Demons, while Gong Qiying and his team would be responsible for eliminating the remaining ember ashes (mist), summoning monsters as they pleased.
Rainbow Horn raised a question: Since the Flame Dragon can absorb flames, why did the Burning Demons burn half the continent in ancient times?
Red Teeth replied:
"Different eras. What monsters can handle today might have been catastrophic in the past."
When the Burning Demons were rampaging, there were no Flame Dragons.
The City Lords were eager and confident, selecting their available monsters, except for Rainbow Horn, who took out a bunch of Rainbow Unicorns that looked similar to him, all adorable and totally mismatched in style.
The Slime City Lord produced several giant slimes with cosmic luster, each one undoubtedly an elite-level monster.
Hawthorn City Lord brought out a group of creatures resembling bat monsters, armed with piercing spears and various weapons. The weapons and sizes varied, seemingly divided into different units, and equipped with Water Elemental creatures to resist the flames.
Coconut City Lord summoned rock creatures, the largest Rock Giant reaching the height of an Attack on Titan giant, likely chosen for their fire-resistant properties.
Rainbow Horn looked at what Gong Qiying had summoned and silently mocked: "Didn’t you say they were blue?"
"They are," Gong Qiying nodded.
"Then why are they all gray, green, red, and blue?" Rainbow Horn glared.
"It makes it look festive."
"That’s just too..." Rainbow Horn wanted to say more but stopped, staring at Gong Qiying’s summoned creatures.
As he mentioned, each one was a giant, clad in super exaggerated armor, resembling small giants. The armor had a strange style, indescribably curious upon closer inspection.
Interstellar soldiers, this was Gong Qiying’s summoned unit.
He made minor modifications to their armor, reducing the technological elements, making them blend seamlessly into a medieval war hammer setting.
Distribution was simpler. Front-line warriors bore shields and energy swords or large hammers; mid-line soldiers carried explosive bomb guns and chainsaw swords, while the heavy weaponry was assigned to the rear. Each was fitted with a medieval-looking skin, void of any futuristic technology, as that was something he couldn’t handle for now.
The other dungeons enjoyed crafting systems, so he pulled together a barely passable system. However, if he truly followed each interstellar soldier army’s characteristics to organize equipment and tactics...
That’d be too tedious, so he simply put things together.
"Burning Demons emit high heat; are you sure it’s okay to summon a bunch of iron cans?" Rainbow Horn asked.
"No problem," he showed a reassuring smile.
Compared to the bizarre slimes, elegant bat monsters, and imposing rock creations, the interstellar soldiers seemed too plain, leaving Rainbow Horn somewhat hopeless.
"My strong acid slimes can melt his iron cans within a second," the Slime City Lord remarked.
No one responded; it was best to watch in silence at the moment.
"Let’s begin," Red Teeth said, summoning dozens of dragon-like creatures with mouths and necks swollen like balloons, appearing distorted.
The flames on the Burning Demons were continuously absorbed by them, and soon they began to burn intensely, bearing expressions of agony, their life force visibly draining!
Red Teeth, already expressionless, began creating new Flame Dragons, ready to summon more once this batch perished.
It was thought that Flame Dragons were immune to flames, but they relied on high fire resistance and strong absorption to tough it out!
The monsters of the five City Lords were randomly deployed to non-overlapping areas. The Burning Demons, already agitated by the removal of their flames, became even more furious upon seeing strangers.
Trapped in the seal for a long time, they immediately shrieked and charged forward!
Ignoring the never-ending flames, each Burning Demon had a body that could be considered elite; the prolonged seal drove them insane, making their attacks chaotic yet fiercely aggressive. It was unclear if this was a gain or a detriment for them.
The Slime City Lord sent out a green slime creature with high defense and flexibility, but it was shredded to pieces in a single encounter.
The heavy armor soldiers of the bat monsters suffered greatly upon first contact, their heavy shields either flipped or broken, causing the formation to unravel instantly.
