Chapter 341: Original text: Chapter 253: Lost Land Knight and Underground Level 1_2

[The underground labyrinth explored so far:]

[First Floor Boss: Lost Land Knight]

[Second Floor Boss: Knights of War]

[Third Floor Boss: Red Wolf]

[Fourth Floor: Exploring]

"This place is quite interesting."

The two agreed on the idea and decided to go underground to take a look, hoping to get some blessing if they were lucky.

Soon, with the help of the "Academy Hui Stone Key rental service" provided by nearby adventurers, they successfully entered the academy and stepped into the dim underground maze.

There were quite a few adventurers in the academy, and more than a dozen people went down with them. Many of them, just like the others, stopped at the sight of the first-floor labyrinth’s full view.

The scene before them had a unique grandeur to it.

Lofty, twisted rock walls connected the ground with the "ceiling," creating a winding maze; any adventurer who stepped inside quickly disappeared from sight.

Light-emitting square fluorites were stacked layer upon layer above the rock walls, providing illumination. If one listened closely, growls of monsters and the adventurers’ screams seemed to come from deep within the maze.

"This is one of the most spectacular dungeons I’ve ever seen," Jed exclaimed.

"It looks like we didn’t sit by the bonfire like everyone else," Spa said.

"No worries, we have the Teleportation Crystal, right? If we die, we can just leave this place. Saves you from always saying it’s a waste of time," Jed shrugged nonchalantly.

Spa nodded. He happened to feel that the bonfire gave off an uncomfortable feeling, so he wasn’t eager to go near it.

The two officially walked into the maze and realized that the overly homogeneous scenery quickly caused disorientation. Despite their efforts to stay alert, they soon couldn’t find a way out of the maze’s winding paths, ending up at a junction with five forks.

Five paths? Are they trying to kill me with choices?

At first, they occasionally encountered other adventurers, but gradually, they saw no one else. They chose a path at random and walked.

Their mindset was relaxed since they were treating it like a sightseeing trip. Unfortunately, they didn’t dare use their weapons casually here; the last thing they wanted was to get lost after transforming in the wind and rushing too far.

Monsters appeared soon, a group of large-headed creatures.

[Platinum Son Cluster]

For Jed, who had weapons, these were hardly a threat. Only their appearance gave his mind a critical hit.

"The monsters here are hard to evaluate,"

He looked at the [Platinum Son Hood] dropped by the killed creatures and fell into deep thought.

On the way, the monsters they met were not very strong. They hadn’t seen the so-called altar but did have unexpected gains.

They found a rest area with a hot spring that could restore vitality and some topping fruits growing on rock walls. Quite a few adventurers were already there, the hot spring filled like a dumpling soup.

"They even provide a resting place. That’s considerate," Jed said.

"Given the scale of this place, it’s entirely possible to get lost for days without a rest area. People would break down," someone next to them spoke, "This place is much kinder than the old Sain Dungeon."

Jed quickly bonded with this seemingly familiar uncle. Eventually, the uncle invited him to challenge the floor boss, the "Lost Land Knight."

"Do you know the way to the boss?" Jed asked in surprise.

The uncle looked at him strangely and said, "Just a few steps ahead from here. Did you get here by accident? Lucky."

Jed chuckled, "I always thought of myself as lucky."

Spa wanted to say something, but Jed gestured at him, indicating he wouldn’t use his weapons casually in combat.

This way, the two joined the uncle’s team of over twenty people. Soon, after passing a path full of monsters, they arrived at an open area.

A knight in heavy armor, dual swords in hand, stood with his back to them, his cape slightly fluttering, looking very powerful.

[Lost Land Knight]

Upon hearing the adventurers’ movements, he swiftly turned, revealing a pair of glowing red eyes.

"Ready for batt—" The uncle’s call to prepare for battle was cut short as the Lost Land Knight spun with his dual swords like a bulldozer into the crowd, causing blood to splatter!

"Uncle, are you guys this weak?" Jed shouted while dodging, the knight’s speed and attack power far exceeding his expectations.

The uncle looked confused, "Why is he suddenly stronger? And his eyes weren’t red before, ah—"

Before he could finish speaking, a sword struck his back, sending him back to the bonfire in a bloody mess.

Several adventurers were still around, but the Lost Land Knight ignored them and fixed his gaze firmly on Jed.

Jed was tangled with nearby soldiers. His skills were decent, able to handle three at a time.

But the battlefield was chaotic. He felt something hit his arm, but when he turned, he saw nothing.

[A wild Geng Ghost used Thief on Jed, stealing the item again]

"The knight is coming your way!" Spa shouted in warning.

"I’ll warm up with him first, then use wea... enchanted gear later." Seeing others around, Jed grew cautious.

The Lost Land Knight’s robust form appeared before Jed in an instant, his great sword slashing down heavily, narrowly avoided by Jed, who managed to slice the knight’s armor gap in return.

Little effect!

"Pretty tough, like an iron can," he gritted his teeth, dodging the knight’s swift attacks.

Mercenaries excel in duels. Though the knight was taller, he was still human enough for Jed’s skills to handle, but...

He couldn’t confront the storm-like attacks head-on and lacked effective offense.

Under such intense pressure, he dared not make a single mistake, for any slip would mean death.

"Take this!"

Finally seizing an opportune moment, he quickly grabbed a handful of powder from his pocket, throwing it at the knight’s head, his fingertips bursting into flames.

Bang!

The powder exploded instantly, forcing the knight to retreat a step, giving Jed a chance to distance himself.

As the explosion’s smoke cleared, the knight’s helmet showed cracks, with his eyes glowing even more fiercely.

Jed inhaled sharply. Alchemy dust powerful enough to shatter Flying Dragon scales had only slightly injured the opponent!?

His limbs were already numb. Just a brief fight with the knight had almost exhausted him...

What kind of monster was this!

Have Bed City’s adventurers been fighting such monsters all along? How did they survive?

"Be careful!" Spa, fending off soldiers, yelled.

"It’s fine, worst case, I’d die. I still have the Teleportation Crystal, adventurers’ stuff is handy."

Jed flashed a confident smile.

He nonchalantly patted the pocket holding the Teleportation Crystal, but...

The pocket was flat under his pat.

His smile froze on his face as he hastily grabbed the pocket, finding it empty as if it had never contained anything!

"My... my Teleportation Crystal!?" he was dumbfounded.

"Didn’t you say you brought it!" Spa glared, unable to resist cursing.

Watching the knight bolt toward him like lightning, sweat trickled down Jed’s forehead as he failed to remember where he lost the crystal.

"No, no worries, I still have my weapon!"

His weapon was his greatest reliance, allowing him to defeat the Lost Land Knight as he had the Calia Knight!

He tried to activate his weapon, but nothing happened.

"No way..."

He touched his armband, and his body froze in place.

"Hey, what’s wrong with you, dodge quickly!" Spa shouted.

But Jed remained motionless, like a statue.

He turned his head rigidly, his face ashen as he spoke:

"Gone..."
