Who Designed This Underworld Dungeon?

Chapter 119: Chapter 115 Female Fire Dragon: Misunderstanding!

Looking for teammates—this is a passage that every adventurer must experience.

Everyone wants to find a big shot to carry them, but the reality is that the quality of adventurers varies greatly. It’s fine if you recruit normal people as teammates and just go on normal adventures.

But if you accidentally get a hidden character like Sato Kazuma, then there’s going to be trouble.

You don’t want your teammate to fire off a big explosion and then be so exhausted that they collapse on the road waiting to be looted, right?

Well, if it’s a weak beauty, that’s another story...

Although he needs to find a teammate, who should he choose?

Dal first thought of the Strategy Group, they are the most elite adventurers in Bed City.

However, through the last battle, he realized that his combat style was not very compatible with the Strategy Group; it was a bit awkward to coordinate, perhaps because Tal and his team had already become like Leon and couldn’t accept a swordsman with a different style.

In other words, those teams with fixed combinations were not suitable for him to join.

So, he had to start with individuals; who among the Silver Rank he knew was a lone wolf...

Suddenly, he remembered someone who was not an adventurer—Mage Roger.

Although that person’s frivolous character was a bit too much for Dal to handle, he admired Roger’s battle technique of "Invisibility Flash Stab"; battles should be about striking fatally when least expected!

As a child, Dal had fantasized about becoming an assassin moving under the moonlight, elegantly eliminating targets without any witnesses.

But now, he turned into a swordsman who leapt into piles of Monsters, launching deadly strikes; after he finished, all the Monsters were dead, which in a way, meant there were no witnesses...

Dreams achieved in an alternative way, indeed.

If he could get Roger’s help, exploring Fran Fort would be a bit easier.

Every time he thought about Fran Fort, Dal couldn’t help but recall the scene where he ran away from the Ancient Wolf of Fran.

The reason he was now striving to conquer Sain was to see the old wolf one more time.

He couldn’t understand why he was so obsessed with seeing the old wolf again; seeing it one more time wouldn’t give him the courage to accept the Wolf Blood...

Perhaps there was a vague feeling guiding him; Dal’s subconscious felt that if he didn’t see the old wolf one more time, he would regret it deeply.

He shook his head, temporarily setting aside those thoughts, and looked at the sun hanging in the sky; the bright sunlight scattered over him, sweeping away the creepy feeling he got from the Dungeon.

Let’s rest for a day.

After being sent back to the bonfire by a Soul-sucking Ghost, Dal voluntarily left the Dungeon. If he died one more time, there wouldn’t be any souls available, and the vague pain deep in his head made him dare not to venture further.

Thanks to Count Charon’s generous sponsorship of the Teleportation Crystal, and because Dal had been playing it safe and hadn’t visited the Resurrection House much these days, he had a bit of extra money.

"Buy something delicious to reward everyone."

Weighing the heavy pouch in his hand, even Dal couldn’t help but smile.

"Boss, can I take that meat I reserved last week earlier?" he greeted the familiar shop owner.

"Of course, it’s already here," said the boss with a face full of flesh. "Wait here, I’ll get a cart for you."

Dal nodded and casually found a chair to sit.

This place wasn’t a meat shop, nor a tavern, but... the Monster Workshop!

Adventurers would bring the Monsters they hunted to the Monster Workshop for dissection, and if they wanted convenience, they could sell directly to the workshop, only taking the materials they needed.

Dal and this Monster Workshop had been on good terms for many years; he had asked the boss to help him purchase some Low Tier Monster meat every week, preferably of pig and cow-type Monsters.

For humans, Monster meat was edible but not particularly tasty, nor did it have any magical effects like enhancing strength, so in recycling, Monster meat was relatively cheap.

But Dal’s wolf pack liked eating Monster meat; in the forest, they could only hunt ordinary beasts, so he came here every week to buy a bunch of meat to improve the diet of his wolf pack.

"There you are again, young Dal," a middle-aged disassembly worker came over to chat, familiarly. "Do adventurers make a lot of money? I see you coming every week."

Dal shook his head, "It’s just okay."

"Haha, I can hear exhaustion from your tone," the worker laughed loudly, patted Dal’s shoulder, and said, "Adults need a way to relieve stress, how about I treat you, my loyal customer?"

Remembering something, Dal said with a frown, "I don’t go to adult entertainment places."

Just then, the worker handed Dal a cup filled with ice-cold beer.

"What? Who said anything about taking you to an adult entertainment place? What do you think about every day?"

"..."

Dal instantly turned his head away, his face slightly red, amusing the disassembly worker to laugh heartily.

"I don’t drink..." He blurted out this sullen remark after a long while.

"Hey, hey, don’t be like that, I’ll stop laughing, it’s on me anyway, just drink a little."

Dal stared at the beer, the yellowish liquid bubbling up with froth, the surface of the cup coated with droplets, the scent of barley juice diving into his nostrils; just looking at it you could feel the chill.

This must be a really delicious ice-cold beer.

Dal’s throat moved, he reached for the cup, and a few seconds later, he was staring at the now empty cup, dazed.

Coming to his senses, he had drunk it all!

"It looks like you’ve really accumulated a lot of exhaustion, how about I treat you to another one?" the worker was taken aback by how he drank.

"No, no, that’s alright,"

Dal quickly waved his hand, his face a bit red. By then, the cart had been loaded; the small mountain of Monster meat was placed on it, and after paying, Dal hurriedly pulled the cart and left the city.

His steps were slightly unsteady, and his head a bit dizzy, his tolerance for alcohol surprisingly low, yet...

The cool autumn wind brushed across his cheeks, the wildflowers and green grass on the plains nodding rhythmically, and the tipsy feeling wasn’t unpleasant at all.

Occasionally relaxing seems pretty good.

He hummed a tune he hadn’t sung for a long time, developing a leisurely heart to appreciate the scenery, with a smile appearing on his lips.

The smile lasted until he returned to the farm.

"Screech—"

The sound of the sword blade colliding with the scabbard erupted as Dal quickly let go of the cart and drew his longsword, his eyes widening and turning a fierce red.

The fence of the farm had collapsed, the inside was a mess, and the wolf pack was nowhere to be seen.

A huge creature was lying inside the farm, with fresh blood trailing down from the corners of its mouth.

It was a... dragon!

Dal’s face instantly turned ashen, his body trembling, and the next moment, he charged forward with his sword!

Why is there a dragon here, why at the farm, my wolf pack...

"Die!" Dal roared wildly, his face ghastly like a ghost.

"Ga?"

The Female Fire Dragon, or rather Hathaway, dumbfounded, raised her head, startled and spreading her wings.

Casually revealing a group of wolf cubs under her wings, gnawing on a wild boar.

Each cub, with mouths greasy, emitted satisfied howls.

"Ah!?"

Caught off guard, Dal stumbled, and the famed Silver Rank adventurer embarrassingly fell flat on his face!

After falling, he slid across the ground, ending up right in front of the wolf cubs.

Seeing their companion return, the young wolves excitedly howled, affectionately nudging and licking him, smearing blood and meat onto his clothes.

Dal dumbly raised his head, locking eyes with the equally dumbfounded Female Fire Dragon, both staring wide-eyed at each other.

"Who the hell dares to attack my Hathaway!" came a familiar voice, it seemed to be Roger?

However, before Dal could respond, a Mage’s Hand smacked right onto his face.

A few moments later...

"It’s all a misunderstanding, young man,"

Inside the farmhouse, Roger awkwardly offered treatment to Dal, who kept a straight face in silence.

"I told you earlier to repair your dragon-damaged fence, and now look, a misunderstanding,"

The scantily-clad Beast Tamer Antili sighed, with several male wolves around her nodding in agreement, displaying a sycophantic demeanor.

Dal’s expression soured further, remembering that those male wolves were famously standoffish in the pack.

"I had Hathaway hunt as compensation," Roger said with a rare sheepish expression, "it seems like it only led to a bigger misunderstanding..."

Learning that it was a false alarm and the wolf pack was unharmed, Dal wasn’t overly concerned about the incident, just staring fixedly at Antili, as if the legitimate partner glared at a mistress.

Antili noticed Dal’s thoughts, patted the male wolves’ heads, and they joyfully ran off.

Dal’s expression then slightly improved, yet he still asked in a curt tone: "So, what did you come to find me for?"

Just after the misunderstanding, Roger was embarrassed to speak, but Antili straightforwardly said:

"We’re inviting you to collaborate on a Dungeon exploration, we’ll offer a lot of rewards, wanna come?"

Oh?

Dal looked at Roger, who also nodded.

Unexpectedly, before he went to find teammates, the teammates had come to him.

The previous meeting wasn’t pleasant, but it was just a little scare for Dal, and moreover, it could be used to gain some leverage in their cooperation.

Originally intending to just involve Roger, now with the capable Antili joining, the combination seemed pretty good.

Dal quickly responded.

"Okay, but what’s your target, and which area are you going to?"

Roger and Antili exchanged glances, both smiling, and the latter mysteriously said:

"Would you mind being disliked by monsters?"

Faced with this puzzling question, Dal pondered and replied: "Don’t monsters inherently dislike humans?"

"So you don’t mind, that’s great!"

Antili clapped her hands, smiling: "Rest today, and just come with us tomorrow, our goal is simply to battle with monsters."

Dal’s eyebrows twisted, suddenly feeling the desire to refuse.

The next day, Sain Dungeon, gourmet area.

"Take this,"

Antili handed Dal a wooden stick, pointing at a creature in the bushes:

"See that yellow-skinned rat? Hit it!"

"Pika?"

The wild Pikachu blinked, puzzled.
