Chapter 92: This World and That World I

Chapter 92: This World and That World I

While there are potential advantages to dividing lands and wealth, it is essential to learn from history and carefully weigh the potential disadvantages.

One of the main risks associated with dividing power and wealth is the fragmentation of power and governance.

When multiple individuals or branches hold authority, it can lead to inefficiencies and conflicting interests.

This can result in a lack of centralized decision-making, hindering the empire’s ability to respond effectively to external threats and govern its territories.

The aftermath of Genghis Khan’s and Charlemagne’s deaths serves as a cautionary tale, illustrating the challenges that can arise from fragmented power.

Furthermore, dividing power within a ruling family can give rise to intra-family rivalries and power struggles.

Competition between different branches of the family may lead to power imbalances, betrayals, and even open conflict.

This can undermine the stability and unity of the empire, creating a lack of accountability and a diluted vision for its future.

Aeryon’ concern regarding intra-family rivalries highlights the need for careful management of the division of lands and wealth.

While there is no one-size-fits-all approach, Aeryon recognizes that the effectiveness of such division depends on various factors.

Cultural norms, the political climate, and the specific dynamics of the ruling family and the empire itself all play a role in determining the most suitable approach.

Successful ruling families throughout history have found ways to strike a balance between shared responsibility and centralized governance.

They have managed divisions within the family while maintaining stability and cohesion.

On the other hand, some ruling families have experienced fragmentation and decline as a result of poorly managed divisions.

Ultimately, Aeryon goal is to learn from history

Aeryon then shakes his head.

"Maybe, I am thinking too much"

Maybe it is because he is from a different world that he sees this far.

Aeryon unique perspective as someone from a different world allows him to see beyond the immediate circumstances of his empire.

He is able to draw upon the knowledge and lessons of history, including the rise and fall of past empires.

Unlike sage emperors who rely on the words of sages and predictions, Aeryon has a deep understanding of the annals of history and the patterns of empires throughout time.

History has shown the rise and fall of numerous great empires, from ancient Egypt and Rome to the Holy Roman Empire, the Greek hegemony, the Majapahit, the Maurya, the Umayyads, the Abbasids, the Mongols, the Mughals, the Ottomans, Great Britain, Austria, the Empire of Japan, and many others.

The ebb and flow of empires is a recurring theme in the chronicles of mankind’s struggle against fate and destiny.

Through his studies and readings, Aeryon comprehends the beauty of empire in its ascendancy and the tragedy that often accompanies its decline.

He understands that no empire, no matter how powerful or grand, is immune to the forces of history.

The rise of empires may be awe-inspiring and captivating, but the eventual downfall is a reminder of the impermanence of human achievements.

"The rise is always beautiful and the end is always tragic" he muttered and at this he chuckles. In the book, it is easy.

But if you lived it yourself, you know the herculean task that one had to undertake to create these empires

"If I was transmigrated into a laid-back world, would I still have this kind of ambition?" Aeryon thought to himself.

"If the world is peaceful, even if I have the system would I embark in this kind of path?" Aeryon knows that he is partly influenced by the original Aeryon thoughts and will

But he also recognise that to survive he also has to do this. Since he knows how the story would unfold. Right now, in Yan, they are having their own version of the Romance of the Three Kingdoms.

But in a couple of years, one of the princes would take over Nurshira. And for some reason expands to the north which is the Southern Great Steppe.

Killing hundreds of tribes. Just because they can. They took the people of the Great Steppe and force them to fight their wars.

But in their books written by the scholars, they would say that they educated the people of the Steppe. They would impose their languages and ban the words of the Marynku of Ashran, of Eresian.

Killed the Ashana, hunted the Wizancai and eradicate any cultural practices of the tribes. They take the woman and enslave the men. And they would create classes.

But the people of Yan would beautify it in their writing, making justification for it. Probably in a hundred years later, they would then claim that the lands of the Marynku have always been the land of the Yan people.

They like doing that. Claiming other people lands as their own.

They would make up stories, where they are the protagonist and the villain is everyone else. There is no improvement of life in Yan for people of other races.

What does this tell Aeryon? It shows that erven if he does not want to fight, the fight will come to him.

And all he is trying to do right now, is create an empire strong enough that it would not only be able to fight against Yan, but eradicate it

And once that idea sprouted in his mind, who became his role model? None other than the only man known in history to create the largest contiguous land empire on Earth.

Temujin, Genghis Khan, Chinggis Khan. Whatever you wanted to call him. Aeryon has all the same advantages and culture that is very similar to his own world Genghis Khan.

But he himself come from the modern world. And some of the atrocities that Genghis Khan did is not something that he could stomach.

But, the difference between him and Genghis Khan is that he have the foresight of the patterns of rise and fall of Empire.

And he would create an empire grander than the one Genghis Khan had created. It would not last just few hundred years, it would last longer.

He sighed

"When the wind rises, you either try to fight back, ride with it or changes the course of that wind"

And he still doesn’t know what he is. Is he the one who fight against the win, ride with it, or changes the course of the wind?

The only way to know is to live and keep moving forward. And maybe someday he could answer this question

He thought of the empires in his world.

Egypt’s remarkable monuments, such as the majestic pyramids, continue to inspire awe and fascination, their construction and purpose still the subject of numerous debates and mysteries.

The enduring legacy of Egypt’s architectural achievements serves as a testament to the ingenuity and craftsmanship of its people.

The story of Rome, with its founding myth of two brothers, Romulus and Remus, and their struggle for power, has captivated the imagination of countless generations.

The victorious brother, Romulus, went on to establish the city of Rome, which ultimately evolved into a powerful empire that shaped the course of Western civilization.

Rome’s rise to dominance and its subsequent transformation into a symbol of grandeur and influence is a captivating narrative that reflects the ambitions and triumphs of a remarkable civilization.

Each empire throughout history carries its own allure, characterized by captivating stories, remarkable achievements, and significant contributions to human civilization.

These empires often embody the aspirations and endeavours of countless individuals who have left an indelible mark on the world.

And because of these stories, Aeryon felt like he could see the progression of history and could see it even more clearly and feel it more deeply than the emperor and rulers of this era

Because he is someone who have read about all of these rises and fall.

And now that he himself is trying to create an empire, it then make sense for him to worry that he would also do the same mistake that these empires have made in the past.

"But thinking about it right now is kind of pointless" he reminded himself.

He pull the reins of his horse and rides again to the other part of his settlements.

He is not like a European nobility that would always be in their castle when they have nothing to do

The people of the Steppe, even negotiate on horseback.

There was one time when he saw Belarion for the whole day sits on horseback. He converse on horseback, he run around the settlement on horseback

Even when he sleeps, he sleeps on horseback. And he is not the only one.

The phrase that the Marynku people is one with their horses is not some false phrase.

"That bring me to that idea"

he realize that the people of the tribe did not take bath that often. It is not that they don’t want to.

But it is just that it is not convenient.

He shakes his head

"Each time I want to push the brake, my mind keep wanting to rush" he mutters

He rides his horse again and after a while, he went to the edge of his settlement. As his eyes look toward the distance, his mind goes again to his plans.
