Aeryon shakes his head while sighing

"You agree with him?!"

Aeryon shakes his head

"If I agree with him, I would not have ride toward Utgard to try to save your father would I?"

"But it is done. The matter is concluded. Whether you agree with it, or whether I agree with it, everything has already been done."

Aeryon sighed and then added

"And he did it for me. I would be quite an ungrateful person if I let you kill him when he actually does it to help me. Not only me but this tribe. My tribe" he paused for a moment, he looks at Ayera and he said these words with emphasis

"Your tribe" From the moment Ayera married into Brolgadhr tribe, she should consider herself as a Brolgadhr tribe member.

Ayera never thought herself as that because she thought she would be a spy.

Maybe someday when her father and her husband fights, she would drive the dagger that could kill her husband

At that time, she would be free again.

But who would know what happen next is far away from her calculations dh the calculations of her father? Aeryon become a force that they could not plot against and have to please.

"Then I could only be cruel to you"

"You would kill me?" Ayera ask.

Aeryon shakes his head and Ayera is puzzled

"You kill him today and I vowed to the heaven and Earth that when I conquered Utgard, I would kill all of them. From old to young, from men to women, I would kill them all to accompany Mayeux"

Then he looks at Ayera with a menacing smile

"No, I would not kill you" he shakes his head, with that smile still on his face

"Instead, I would make sure that you are alive to hear their screams and to see their blood washing the land of Utgard"

Aeryon knows that his wife did not have many weakness. But if there is one weakness, it would be her clan and her tribe.

"You want to kill him. I won’t kill you. But I would make you rue your own existence. I would make sure you living would be a suffering in itself"

Ayera look at Aeryon like this is the first time she saw him.

For a moment there is only silence between them. She shakes her head.

"You are not that cruel. You have never done this before even when you attack your enemy"

Aeryon laughed, his laugh echoing all over inside this pavilion

’That is because no one have ever managed to pierce my weak point. If you touch Mayeux, you pierce my weak point"

He lets that words hang before he continues

"And if that happens, even I don’t know how crazy would I become. Mayeux is not just my advisor, Ayera. He is the only one among many that understand my heart. Not even you, not even my sworn brother, and not even my uncle understand my heart"

The sword in Ayera heart is no longer trembling.

It is calm.

It is about to come out.

It could no longer be prevented. And Ayera knows this is the only way to make him listen

"Then let’s fight" Aeryon eyes widened

The moment Ayera said this, she quickly attacked.

He moves his body left, and one dagger passes by his left shoulder and then he tilted his body right and a dagger swishes past his right cheek

Both of the dagger is aiming toward his shoulder and the other toward his face.

His eyes narrowed

He smirks.

"Decisive" he thought to himself.

Aeryon in that moment understood.

Today Ayera would challenge him.

If she wins, she wants revenge.

She want Mayeux head.

If he wins, then the loser should obey the winner.

This is her last bet.

Her last method.

A method that is very familiar for the people of the Steppe. Steppe method is sometimes crude but at certain times, they are easier to believe.

They follow the strong. Because who would follow the weak. All the people of the Steppe lives in harsh condition

Choosing a weak leader means the destruction of the tribe. Hence, choosing the strong is a method of survival

It is not like how Yan describe it.

Yan people believes that the Steppe people is fickle. When they surrender to Yan dynasty, after a while, the barbarians would rebel or sabotage Yan

Yan look at the world like they should be worshipped. Yan is strong. But a strong person that did not fulfill their promise, how could the people of the Steppe follow such people?
