Chapter 397: A Tribe in the North
Chapter 397: A Tribe in the North
The reason why Ultar would withdraw his men is not because Ultar chief would not want to help him.
Instead, he would be wary of the Nergui tribe.
Nergui tribe withdraw his men and said he wanted to protect their area.
That is a reasonable reason
But what if Nergui tribe uses this chance to attack Ultar tribe? Even though the possibility is small, there is always a chance
Chadha had calm them down with a big picture, taking in the circumstances of the world into account
But the human hearts are the hardest to fathom
Chada has already open up to these two tribes about what he intends to do. So, there is a big picture here.
But could Ultar be at ease? What if he did not withdraw his men and suddenly Nergui tribe attack his tribe and he would lost his home?
Ultar could not trust Nergui and Nergui could not trust Ultar and the reason why this alliance could even be brokered is because the connection of this two tribes with the Chagai tribe.
These two tribes trust Chadha but they did not trust each other
And that is why if Nergui withdraw his men, Ultar would also withdraw his men.
So, what he should do right now is calm his mind and try to convince to both Nergui tribe and Ultar tribe that withdrawing would only play right into Brolgadhr tribe trap
Yes, right now Chadha has already decided. Poush forward.
Right now, this is the best way.
He is confident that Aeryon would not attack Nergui tribe and provoke the Cha Ner Ul Alliance.
Chadha did not know that Khagai tribe is subservient to the Brolgadhr tribe but even he could see that the Khagai tribe has great relations with Brolgadhr tribe.
if not, Aeryon would not send two of his warriors to aid the Khagai tribe.
’Since it has come to this, take Haltur and destroy the other three tribes as fast as possible" This is the best way.
Make it big.
Make it powerful
Make it impactful!
The alliance should take this opportunity, no, this danger and turns it into a driving force.
Aeryon has always been making weird moves but all of his move has a trace.
He is convinced of this.
Chadha is now thinking about how to convince Nergui tribe when his guards announce that an envoy from the Nergui tribe has come to speaks with him.
Chadha takes a deep breath, close his eyes for a second and exhale.
Opening his eyes, he dust off his clothes like there is dust on it.
Right now, he already has an argument and a grand plan for the alliance.
But, these argument and all of his plan would come to naught if he could not convince Nergui tribe
He takes a deep breath and then he gave his order, standing up, exuding confidence
"Let him enter"
....
Nogai tribe
The chief of the Nogai tribe is Norgai Son of Baha.
Norgai tribe is not a small tribe.
However, to call them a large tribe is a bit exaggeration. It depends on how you view such tribe.
In the past, it is only a tribe that has hundreds of thousands of men under them that could be qualified to be called a large tribe. then that standard had to be lowered.
Having around twenty or thirty thousands of men under them could be considered big.
Most tribe has large lands that they designed as their place.
Sometimes, they would stay there and would go someplace else.
Sometimes, they stay there permanently and create history. The large cities of the Empires of the Steppe has all turns to dust.
Large tribe of today could not even compete with a small city in Yan in terms of population.
In terms of land however, a small tribe could encompass an area larger than even the big cities in Yan.
Nogai tribe never considered themselves as a large tribe.
Instead, it has an imposing force of fifteen thousand men, ten thousand riders and that number has risen as they capture the small tribes and the disobedient clans.
But they are now surrounded by powerful enemies.
To the west there is the Ultar tribe. To the north, there is the Aestan tribe. To the east, there is Yindir tribe and Dayan tribe.
And to the south is Wustkazan.
"No, it is Brolgadhr now" Norgai sighed. Norgai is a young man. His father died just a year ago.
He is a young man of fifteen years old.
But in the Steppe he is old enough to become a father and he already has a son.
The son itself is very young and is only one year old.
Norgai like any young warrior also has ambition.
But it is not to become a chief that rules the world. Nor is he equipped with such knowledge.
The seat of the chief was never meant for him.
Instead, it was reserved for his older brother.
But unlike the intrigue and schemes against sibling like in the Kazan tribe, Norgai never intended to take the seat of his brother. And his brother also loves him very much
Since he was young, he was trained to become a general. His father has already envisioned them supporting each other
The relationship between him and his brother is harmonious.
His older brother would be the chief and he would be his principal general.
It would be like the relationship between Aeryon and Belarion, two brothers that fight alongside each other in the battlefield.
His older brother learns about governing the tribe.
And he learns how to fight.
And he mastered Kusa when he was only ten years old.
Even though he is not someone like Belarion who was born with innate strength, with the power of internal energy, he could fight with Belarion in equal strength.
Of course, this is predicated on the fact that he could maintain the energy of heaven and earth in his body and have enough to withstand the barrage of attack by a person who was born with innate strength
It took him four years since feeling internal energy to finally masters it enough and store it in his body efficiently.
It is a pity that he did not master it sooner
Because his brother die two years ago when he is thirteen years old
The Ultar tribe attacks his tribe for the Tayak and women. His brother lead the charge and was ambushed by Ultar horsemen.
A blood feud was formed.
And a year later his father fell sick. Norgai believe the death of his brother affect his father very much
That is how he got the seat of the chief. He is not good at administrating thing and he is not good at governing or reconciling the different opinion in the tribe and appeasing people
But he is good at fighting.
When Ultar tribe tries to attack his tribe , as long as he pick up his spear and ride with his horse, there is no one in the Ultar tribe that could fight him one by one
However, how long could this last? Ultar has become bigger after they got the Aksak tribe resources.
With men, food and more horses and more warriors, Ultar tribe has become so much large and so much more powerful
Not to mention the Cha Ner Ul Alliance has made Ultar tribe seems like a massive giant compared to the Nogai tribe.
And now, there is Brolgadhr toward the south. He did not know what to do. Attack, defend or wait?
He did not see the answer. Because this is not his talent. He is very confident to fight. But winning the battle and losing the war is not something he did not understand.
When he heard that Brolgadhr tribe had taken Wustkazan he remembers all of those stories about Aeryon.
The story about that young chief in the lower south has been spread by merchants that came to trade in his city.
And storytellers also tells his story.
Warriors that passes through Brolgadhr tribe also would spread hiss troy.
Brave warriors would always have their name told in stories.
And the heroes of the Steppe has risen since Aeryon died that daring conquest.
There is Aeryon, a young wolf that has the ambition to swallow the whole world, just like in the stories of the Eresian about a Wolf that Brings About the End of Worlds.
Then there is the old wolf in the West. Valgrun the chief of the Khagai made his name known when he participated in the raid of Nurshira.
And with him, he brought the name Ota to the forefront. A warrior that has the same reputation as Belarion.
That is another hero that stand out.
The sworn brother of Aeryon, a man born with innate strength and has never lost a battle since he first appears in the battlefield.
Belarion the God Incarnate
On the East, there is Dama and Katakura, two heroes that planned for the land of the East, subduing the mountain tribes and expanding toward the west.
There is also that hero of Kazan tribe, Karnain the chief of Sordkazan who follow the expedition to Nurshira. Those chiefs and those warriors that fought and breach Nurshira walls are all heroes.
They use that reputation to win the heroes of the world. It is only after Aeryon finished the expedition some people understood why Aeryon attacked Nurshira.
One of them must be accumulating reputation.
Aeryon as the biggest winner of that plan, gained the respect of many warriors of the Steppe.
They have done what most Steppe people have never done.
