Chapter 375: Moving Up
Chapter 375: Moving Up
The west has not been decided, and Aeryon already ready to make a move toward the north.
There is still many calculations that could be done, there is still so many strategies that could be implemented, but Aeryon also knowns that sometimes you just have to do it
Aeryon did not even prepare that much.
He comes out of the tent, Belarion beside him and they jump onto their horse
"In a moment, we would go to the Wustkazan tribe. Assemble your men!" Aeryon wanted to attack the moment he said he wanted to attack.
Mayeux would worry about the supplies and he would organize all of that for him and all the supplies team and carts
He only needs to worry about winning the fight
He waited for five thousand horsemen to come.
And as he was waiting, suddenly a sound that he has long not heard echoes inside his ears.
And for a second he was surprised

The Wustkazan wins the battle
........
Aeryon was quite surprised. He never thought that there would be such a surprise.
"There is no item reward for this" Aeryon never thought that the quest could be triggered like this.
It did not happen before.
"Was it because the system now have an objective?" he thought to himself.
Before, the system is like an aimless system.
It did not have any objective other than strengthening himself.
Even then, there is some laws that is binding the system. But after he merge the Will of the Great Steppe with the system, the system now have an objective to help him to unify the Steppe
"Does any action I take to unify the Steppe means to align with the system objective. Then would that mean I would be able to trigger such sudden quest?" he thought to himself.
It is a nice surprise. But he did not think much of it.
Aeryon has already investigated Wustkazan tribe before. As long as he move quickly he could destroy the main settlement before the reinforcement could come.
There is no allies, no reinforcement.
The victory could already be seen.
Before, the situation is different
Kazan and Utgard moves with one heart.
At that time, if he chooses to attack Wustkazan, not only he have to deal with Kazan tribe, he also had to forget about the west.
He has been planning for the west since Mayeux shows him the benefit
He actually never thought of taking Wustkazan before.
He focused all of his concentration toward the west, investigating the tribe there, investigating the power of the Western border tribes.
But now, everything is going smoothly than he ever thought.
Valgrun pushed forward so far ahead and so ahead of schedule that the west would be decided the moment Valgrun wins the decisive battle.
The reason why Aeryon thought of this is simple. Right now, the tribes on the west border is still looking and waiting to see who would win
Whoever wins, they would back.
Aeryon did not sent his forces to the wets because he now untensed that if he enter this matter, all the western border tribe would all goes to Bolghar side.
They do not like conquerors. Not because they love freedom. But because they don’t like it when other people lord over them.
In other words, what they protect is their own power. The western border tribes have their own confederation.
It is loose and it is not written and signed, unspoken but it is there.
With all this complicated dynamic, of course, Aeryon never even thought of taking Wustkazan.
In his mind, as long as he could take the west, it would not take long before he could expand
But.....when someone serve you something in a golden platter like this.....it is a sin not to take a bite.
Kazan changes leadership, the young chief of Kazan allies with the Esbizuk, attacking Estkazan.
Sordkazan would also be dragged into this.
The lower eastern area would be a fight between four tribes.
Which means Kazan only look at below and did not look toward their west.
Garron action harm the relationship between him and Kazan so would Garron really send an army to protect Wustkazan?
If he did, then would Garron risk to have another one of his alliance be in jeopardy?
Garron has too little friends and he is racking up enemies.
He would not sent an army to stop him
Aeryon made the judgment that if he sent an army to Wustkazan, Garron would close one eye.
And the fact that Aeryon only bring five thousand men, this would give garron an excuse to speak.
Not to mention, it is in Garron benefit that Aeryon wins Wustkazan.
Of course, this benefit actually hurt Garron also but knowing Garron, he would take even the most unfortunate situation to benefit him
What matters is the mindset. If Wustkazan loses , Kazan would understand the importance of the Utgard tribe.
Of course, this is just his speculation.
People hearts are not so easy to understand.
Aeryon is even giving face to Garron this much.
If he did not know what it is good for him and spit on his face, Aeryon is ready to talk with another chief tribe that has been eager to ally with him and crush Utgard after the west is settled
Korun tribe wanted to offer his daughter to him. Of course, this would be a political marriage.
Aeryon had told them to wait.
Mayeux was the one that suggested this because he wanted to keep the status quo.
But the status quo would be broken if the west is broken.
At that time, just like Mayeux said, he would free his hand and he could spread his wing and ride all over the Southern Great Steppe without fear.
Because Wustkazan is surrounded by people that wanted to attack them, no allies, no friends, Wustkazan forces are scattered on their borders
The guards and scouts are always patrolling.
As long as he defeat the main force in the main settlement he would win.
As the sun, is about to reach the top of the head, Aeryon and Belarion rides their horses toward Wustkazan tribe.
...
For the Wustkazan tribe, they probably could not have expected what would befall them. Because that morning is like any other morning
The main settlement was doing their things when the scout come to the tribe informing them that a force of five thousand horsemen come to their tribe.
Ten thousand men was mobilized quickly and they rode to meet the enemies. They reach the enemy and saw five thousand horsemen bearing the banner of the Brolgadhr
That White Wolf banner. White when it is at peace, red when it is at war. This is the wolf that called for War.
The Brolgadhr tribe.
The chief first sent a messenger to the tent of the Brolgadhr tribe.
The messenger goes to the tent of the Brolgadhr tribe and then returning back to the Wustkazan tribe, the messenger could not help but feel angry.
Yet, in his anger, the chief of Wustkazan could tell that his messenger was also afraid. The chief of Wustkazan is called Yanlan
The messenger then relayed the message that he got from the Kan, "the Kan said that if Chief could surrender to the Brolgadhr tribe, he would bring back his army. If you do not want to surrender, then fight!"
Hearing this how could Yanlan not feet angry. Wustkazan might not be a big tribe but it did not mean they were weak.
If not how could they have survived all of these years.
And recently he hsiemfl has consolidated the tribe.
And of course, he chooses to fight.
But wanting to fight, does not mean that he wanted to fight the Brolgadhr forces immediately
Yanlan wanted to delay the fight.
Even though he brought ten thousand men with him, most of them are not elite.
He is waiting for reinforcement.
Most of his elite warriors are guarding the southern area near the former area of the Rudya tribe.
