Chapter 340: Gift of Hospitality
Chapter 340: Gift of Hospitality
One might wonder how could someone like Garron be so family oriented? After all, he fought against his brothers and he fight his brother with the intention to kill.
They were more like enemies than family
It is precisely because he never had a family that he cherished his family so much.
As for the reason he taught his sons the words of Yan it is so that he would not get cheated on by those unscrupulous race of liars.
Ayuka was entertained and after some time, Garron call his other sons. He saw Ogura, Barbager and Yonwa
Barbager has a big physique and just looking at him, he is closer to the first son.
Yonwa the youngest come close to his father and is quiet.
In just a few second Ayuka has already finished analyzing the dynamic of these siblings.
The first son and the second son has an intense strained relationship.
The words are all polite but the eyes does not lie.
Ayuka was the second son and because he has such a temperamental brother, he always had to learn how to read the mood in the tent.
And he could feel the tension in the room.
The third son seems loyal to the first son and the fourth son is not a threat and is the most harmless and the safest among all of the brothers.
Barbager is more militaristic and a good fit with the first son.
Sayushi is gentle, elegant and smart but lack practical methods.
That is what he feels when speaking with Sayushi.
He wonders whether Sayushi is the sharpening tools for his first son. Or is it the first son the sharpening tool for Sayushi.
Treating his sons like this, Garron probably never thought that when you sharpen a tool to much, it becomes brittle and break.
After all, not everyone is like him
Garron was born amidst adversity and the intrigue between brothers is even more intense than the one that is happening in his tribe right now
But just because he could handle it, does not mean his children could handle it. Everyone is born and everyone have different aspirations.
"Chief Ayuka has come a long way from home and with his coming the alliance between two tribes has resumed. Let me entertain you with the hospitality of our tribe. I will send you one hundred sheep later" Ayuka only nodded and smile showing his appreciation
He did not say much. But only he knows how frustrated he is in his heart.
But he still have to pretend that he likes it.
Why does he does not like it?
Because right now, it would appear like the Utgard tribe is even more powerful than his tribe.
Sending one hundred sheep, is this kind of conduct is something a small tribe could do? No, they could not.
Garron did have the idea of using the one hundred sheep to win a great reputation.
The people of Yan dynasty wins each other with virtue but the people of the Great Steppe wins each other with strength and reputation.
The reputation of a virtuous man is not as attractive as a reputation of a strong man. The fact that he could send one hundred shape shows his strength.
No small tribe could send so many sheep to people.
And the other reason is also because he wanted the chief of the Kazan to truly reconcile with the Utgard tribe.
This one hundred sheep would surely be given back to the warriors of the Kazan tribe if Ayuka is wise.
And seeing Ayuka and talking with him, Garron make the judgment that Ayuka is someone who clearly knows how to prioritize the big picture.
Knowing that, he did not worry that Ayuka would hoard the reward all to himself.
Garron knows that the warriors of the Kazan tribe is very angry at him because of what he did. And even though the chief of Kazan and him has already reconcile, that would not be enough for those warriors.
The only thing that could convince them would be rewards. Ayuka would surely uses these sheep to pacify any warriors that did not want to continue the alliance
And they would know that the sheep come from him. At least in this way, he could influence the feeling of those warriors.
It is not yet time for the Utgard warrior to break up completely with their one and only reliable ally.
No matter how much gut he have, Garron knows that the only reliable ally that he have is the Kazan. To truly kick this tribe to the curb would limit his option to take action.
Not to mention in this time of great contention, it is once in a lifetime opportunity for him to return back to the Central Steppe.
As long as he could amass great power and great influence, enough soldiers, and enough influence, he could return back to the Central Steppe and take back what belongs to him.
"There is no need for such a reward" Ayuka rejected but Garron simply laugh it away and said
"Such an honourable person come to my tribe to speak to me and I must show my appreciation. As the host, I should extend the great gift of hospitality to a person like you"
The great gift of hospitality.
This is something that make Ayuka smiles bitterly. In the tribe of the Great Steppe, there is nothing greater than the great gift of hospitality.
There was a warrior once called Hansraj.
He come from the Tayyim tribe.
He was remembered always in the folk tales of the Great Steppe people.
He was generous, a divine poet who uses the words of the ancient great Steppe like the wind of the Steppe, breezy and calm, at time tempestuous and fierce, his voice is like the sound of the divine blue bird, so beautiful that those who heard him sing, would cry in enchanted manner.
His fame followed him wherever he stopped.
Whenever he fought, he triumphed and if he gathered up booty he left it to pillage; he would give to everyone who asked; he was always the first to play the game of arrows and if he took prisoners, he would set them free.
In one of his many deeds of generosity, he passed by the Anza tribe.
A prisoner asked him for help but Hansraj did not have the wherewithal to ransom him.
He bought his freedom nonetheless and put himself in chains in his place until he could pay the ransom.
He divided his wealth more than ten times and swore by the Skyfather that he would kill no brother.
There is many generous people in the Steppe.
But one that stood out is Hansraj.
In the open space in front of his tent, Hansraj kept huge cooking pots that he never took off the fire.
When the moon of winter rose, he sacrificed an animal every day and distributed its flesh.
The other reason why he was famous is because he married the princess of the ancient Great Steppe empire.
He would then lead on to become a great general, and pacify the Steppe
Whenever he goes, his reputation is enough to convince the people and the warriors would follow him into battle
His gift of hospitality is legendary.
The moment Garon said it is a gift of hospitality, it would be rude for him to not accept it. Especially when it is done in kind intention.
At least it would look like that to the rest of the Steppe
Garron gifted one hundred sheep to you as a great gif of hospitality. In the eyes of the people, what is this, if not a great kindness and a great gift?
Ayuka could only accept it
"Thank you for the gift" Then he spend times talking and by the night he returns back to his tent. He could not sleep that night.
That night, he concocted a plan. He already sees the dynamic of the tribe and sees Garron sons.
As he extinguishes the candle, he smiles
"It could be done"
....
The spring came and the entire Southern Great Steppe is full of tribes fighting each other.
In the Southern Great Steppe, all four direction is full of battle. Those who could see the trend of the world could all feel that a unifier of the Southern Great Steppe would appear.
A Qayan of the South would rise!
If there is such a chief, then the unification of the Steppe is no longer just a dream
The wolves howls and the pack follows! The lone wolf dies in winter but the pack survives!
In the east, the mots powerful tribe turns out to be the Esbizuk tribes.
The dust settles after the battle and it could eb sad in the eastern area of the Southern Great Steppe, there is not tribe that is as famous or infamous as the Esbizuk tribe.
The rise of Dama does not lose to the shocking rise of Aeryon of Brolgadhr.
Both are young men with great ambition and great ability.
Dama defeated the Lushar and the Kyara tribe, taking the area of influence of these two tribes to suddenly become a contender for the eastern hegemonic lord
