Aeryon eyes narrows

Mayeux smiles and then added

"then we simply send a spy or a messenger to tell this to Burka tribe. Just incite their fear of what would happen when the Cha Ner Ul alliance takes Haltur. Maybe, we didn’t even need to. If the chief of Burka is a bit smarter, he could see nothing good is in store for him if the Cha Ner Ul alliance begin expanding to his direction"

Mayeux pause for a second and then added

"At the same time, we need to see the attitude of the Bolghar tribe and incite them to have desires for expansion"

"We spread rumours?"

"Rumours? About what? Burka getting stronger?"

"Khagai?" Aeryon could not understand the thoughts of Mayeux. Instead of giving rumours that Burka is getting stronger, Mayeux instead wanted to spread rumour about Khagai?

"Explain" Aeryon orders and Mayeux smile.

He knows this is something he needs to get across to Aeryon. The chief and their territory that they governed or having an influence on, is like the city states of the Graecus.

Mayeux studies many books of stratagems. But mostly his strategies is derived from Roma strategies.

There is the introduction to legions, the way of marching, the way of implementing discipline and so on and so forth.

And one of the books of strategies that he had learned touch upon the Conquest of Graecus. This is a civilization that is near the Roma Sea.

And in that book of strategies, it teaches, each city is interconnected and the use of other cities to achieve your goal is the method that could be used.

There is a city called Athens using the strife between other cities to gain dominance in the land of Achaeans

And even though the situation is a bit different, Mayeux could use some of the essence if that strategy to apply it to this tribe.

The tribes he saw as chess pieces.

But not dead chess pieces.

But chess pieces that would move according to their own desire.

What he should do is not try to take control of these emotions of his enemies

But instead Mayeux found a way, a method to navigate around it.

When that desire coincide with the interest of the Brolgadhr tribe, then it could be used, circumvented and could be pointed in the right direction

That is the method that Mayeux had constructed after he decide to apply the method o the strategies he read in the ancient papyrus that his father and his grandfather had preserve.

In this game, Mayeux is letting the chess pieces moves around.

But when all of their moves have already been read, what chance do they have?

And Mayeux wanted Aeryon to understand that his kind of strategy is the kind of strategy that use human hearts, their greed, their virtue, their ambition and their desire

Mayeux then explain

"It is useless if we spread rumours about Burka getting stronger"

"Burka getting stronger would not arouse the threat level of Burka in the eyes of Bolghar tribe. this is because if Burka tribe attack Bolghar, Bolghar could call the Ashana to call the meeting of the Western border tribes. Burka is not a small tribe but they are also not a large tribe. Their development is limited especially when we covers all the lower west region"

Mayeux means that the other target that Burka could attack is his tribe. But unless Burka tribe goes crazy eh would not do such a stupid thing.

There is a smile on Mayeux face.

Aeryon understood what Mayeux is telling him.

His tribe is different.

Mayeux then explain quickly

"We could afford to provoke the entire western border tribes in the Southern Great Steppe but other tribes could not"

Aeryon nodded at this

Either because of geographical obstacle, cultural obstacle, or people obstacle, they could not do what Aeryon is about to do

"As for why we should spread rumour about Khagai, this lies in the history between those two tribes"

"But from my research there is no such wise men around him. And without any wise men to help point him the way, he would go to the way he is most familiar with"

"And seeing the example of our tribe, rising and becoming stronger each time, what do you think his take would be?"

Another chuckle comes out from his mouth as Mayeux continue

"It conforms to his heart, it shows result, so the only choice that he would make is this choice. Expanding with force. Because it is proven to work. Because it is the fastest way"

"Especially when so many tribes no longer sat still.. If he I the only open that is standing still, then he would be doomed in this great competition

"So....he would attack. And the moment the Bolghar tribe attack Burka tribe, then our plan is completed. The rest we must leave to our warriors to win the battle"

And Mayeux no longer speaks.

This is his plan after he thought long and hard about it.

All it needs is for the Bolghar tribe to make a move.

But Mayeux is confident in Aeryon. Mayeux had discuss heavily with Aeryon about the organization of the army.

And he believes that Aeryon method of reforming the army would be a good method to strengthen the tribe. In the Brolgadhr tribe, only Mayeux and Aeryon spoke the same language.

And Mayeux knows the ambition of his Kan.

To rule the whole Steppe.

To compete with the world powers.

To destroy Yan under the hooves of their horses, To break Roma, subjugate Western Zhou, and conquer Yindu. And if all of these could be achieved, then they wound then ride to all over the world

Aeryon did share that he wanted the whole Steep with his uncle and Belarion.

But the subsequent dreams that he have is something that he only shared with Mayeux.

Mayeux when he listened to it, did not laugh at his dream nor did he discourage him. Instead, Mayeux feel proud.

If the ambition of the lord he is serving is just mediocre, then how could that person win his heart?

And if the lord he is serving is just a mediocre man, how could he show his talent to the world?

Mayeux is also someone who wanted his name to be remembered in history.

Of not for the sudden appearance of Aeryon, right now Mayeux is probably riding out to Roma, to see that empire that his father and grandfather revere so much.

Maybe there he would be able to show his talents.

That was his thoughts. But then Aeryon appears, and in him, Mayeux sees someone he could serve.

Mayeux, did he not have any other plans to take the west? Of course, he had. But those plans would take years. It is stable and it is also very perfect.

To take the west, they could always accumulate enough strength before they would mow down every opposition in the west.

They could even incite Western Zhou to take action. Or he could wait for the Western Zhou to make another move and then attack the West at the opportune moment

There is many such strategies.
