Chapter 229: Relying on the Chaos of the World

Those original inhabitants of the area fled to the Great Steppe, while some join the Songnu, Xinbei, Kiang, Tie, Volgda and Sirong tribes

All of these tribes is known as barbarians to the people of Yan and Western Zhou.

Some of them have relation to the Great Steppe tribes and some come from a faraway further land

So, to the people of the Great Steppe, the people of Western Zhou took their lands, and force them out from their homes and then slaughter them and they have the audacity to claim that all the world belong to them

It is from that moment on, the battle between the Great Steppe and the Western Zhou began and have never stopped since.

Right now, because of their internal problem, the Western Zhou minister did not sense the chance that is presented toward them and they did not see the threat that is coming from the Steppe.

The Western Zhou is in its weakest moment and someone will take advantage of it.

At the same time the state governors of Yan that borders the Western Zhou also heard what happen to the Emperor of Western Zhou.

And he too is planning something.

On other side of the Great Steppe, there is the Roma Empire. An empire ruled by law. An empire that is vast and powerful

A disciplined army and a powerful Emperor. But even an empire has a time when it is about to face its crisis of life and death

The Emperor of Roma is at odds with its military generals, fearing the same things that most monarch is worried about

That the servants outshine the master.

These generals that win wars for them is becoming popular and the new Emperor is purging them with trumped up charge.

And the generals are fighting back. There is rebellions, there is unrest, there is chaos all over the empire

Regional governors began exercising more and more power that goes beyond the scope of their authority.

The Roma empire shows signs of dividing itself

Then there is the cold winter these years that is colder than any year before it.

The barbarians’ tribes on the edges corners of the Empire began to migrate toward Roma regions

And battle is being fought and war is being waged.

The northern Great Steppe is also participating in this.

A great ruler from the lineage of Beowulf, that same chief who defended the northern area of the Steppe from the Central Plains warlords called upon a Great Meeting of the Northern Tribes.

There, they elected Beograd, the grandson of Beowulf as their High King, and they began coordinating under his order and attacking Roma regions.

The other tribes that is migrating joins up with Beograd as they opens up route toward Roma.

A barbarian invasion is coming toward Roma and who knew what devastation that these Steppe would bring when their horses managed to reach Roma?

These are the matters of the world. These are the trends of the world. And this is the world in this time of great change

Chaos everywhere. Opportunities abound. Those who could rule the world will rise from this great chaos.

The world outside the tent is moving and each move would determine the fate of the world

But in the tent Aeryon look at the map that Mayeux had prepared for him. And this might also create a new move

Aeryon look at the map intently, then he sighed

For a moment there is silence.

Then he look at Mayeux

"That is a bold word to say" he mutters. Mayeux just shouted to him that he would help him conquer the west in a year. He did not know where Mayeux got this confidence

Mayeux however keep smiling

"I do not lie. The last piece of the puzzle has been completed when you manage to get the approval of the Khagai tribe"

"How will I get the west?’ Aeryon asked and Mayeux pointed to a spot in the map.

"Bolghar tribe?" what Mayeux pointed was the Bolghar tribe

"Why?"

Mayeux smiles and said

"because the balance is broken. And since the balance is broken, it could never be put into balance again"

He paused for a second before continuing saying

"Or it might be more accurate to say that nobody have that kind of force to balance things out again"

There are some things that Mayeux had thought beforehand.

The few forces that could balance things out are all out for the count.

Mayeux got news from the merchants that Western Zhou right now is filled with chaos, with the four princes at each Oher throats and there is news that a coup might happen by one of the princes, wanting to force ethe court

That is one force that could balance thing out.

There is many methods that Western Zhou could do if the Emperor of Western Zhou wanted balance back the situation in the Greta Steppe.

He could start with the easiest one which is the Khagai tribe and focus on that either by attacking it, weakening it enough so that the other tribes would attack them or create another conflict in the border.

This would affect the cooperation between Brolgadhr and Khagai tribe to a certain extent. Of course, there is many other methods that could be used

But right now, the Emperor could not do it.

The Yan dynasty the only other forces that could balance things out did not even have the time to pay attention to tribal politics of the Great Steppe right now,, as they have more important thing to worry about

Aeryon did not think these deep. It is not that he couldn’t. It is just that he have more ion his plate. In a way this has something to do with their responsibilities.

Aeryon has more things he needs to think about, and there is many things he needs to do.

It is not humanely possible to think so many things and at the same time doing so many things at the same time

That is just not possible. Hence, why he has strategist like Mayeux under him. Mayeux sole responsibility is only one thing

To aid Aeryon, to craft strategies for him, to point things that he might have missed. Unlike Aeryon, Mayeux could use all of his time to plan the overarching strategies, have time to sift through the information, have time to infer and perfected the layout.

Aeryon hearing the point that Mayeux had just raised nodded his head and Mayeux continue by saying

"And nobody in the Steppe wanted things to be balanced right now. Everyone is fighting and everyone wanted a new order. It is an opportunity for us. But isn’t it also an opportunity for them?"

He ask Aeryon and Aeryon chuckles

"Tsendeama Son of Uda, Karnain Son of Tulgar, Valgrun son of Brugat , which one of them do not have burning ambition in their hearts? Out there in the vast grassy plains, how many chiefs wanted to be warlord, wanted to rule this land and unify the region? Some people does not have ambition and do not want to compete. But is it up to them?"

"Hahaha!" Mayeux laughed and then said

"No, it is not up to them. The whole world wanted to hunt, so whether they wanted to or not, they have to follow the Great Hunt!"

"The will of the people is in this chaos. And the will of the rulers relies on this chaos"

Aeryon look at the Bolghar tribe on the map and his eyes narrowed. He did send Mayeux to the Bolghar tribe before.

That was to create an alliance.

Back then the alliance was accepted and Aeryon remember being happy about it. This secure his western region.

There is no tribe that would be able to attack Bolghar tribe and that is one of the reasons why Aeryon held out his hand for an alliance.

the western tribes would not attack one another. Because then all of them would gang up on the tribes that is attacking

There is always a delicate balance of power between the tribes on the western border. The Bolghar tribe is a tribe with sizable military power and it also has populations with them also having slave soldiers from the people they kidnapped from Western Zhou.

But because of this , they were always suppressed by the Western Zhou.,

Sometimes, even some other tribes would cooperate with Western Zhou to cut down Bolghar tribe people so that they would not swell.

the same thing that happens to Khagai tribe happens to them also, unable to leave their area, forced to always acts as the defender of the western border of the Great Steppe.

Formidable foreign powers, the desire of their neighbours, the fears of the other tribes all led to the fact that while Bolghar has sizable land, a lot of population, they had to divert it toward defense.

In other words, they have to many enemies and their geographical location make it very hard for them to break out from their current situation.

Aeryon think that even if he is the chief of the Bolghar tribe he would find it very hard for him to break though this situation.

But he could still find a way.

If its him that was the chief.
