Way of Overlord -
Chapter 210: Spreading Out
Chapter 210: Spreading Out
Kaxaru is not done giving orders.
He had thought a comprehensive plan in his mind lats night.
When he rides his horse to look at his warriors, he calculated his warriors expenditure, when he rides his horse to the gras and ride freely under the moon, he thought who to attack, how could he defend, what he should do, and what is the plan.
He then met the Ashana to strengthen his resolve and after listening to the Ashana he went to sleep
And when dawn came he reorganizes what he thought of and now, it is time to execute the plans that is in his head
It is time to materialize the dreams and desire into reality.
He then look at his second son
Kakham.
Or Kham.
Most close people simply called him Kham of Kazan.
To his second son, he orders him to go to the east of their border, recruit warriors and make sure that the Estkazan people could not attack
As for the border they share with Sordkazan, his second son will know what to do.
There is still Utgard tribe. There is a reason for why he thought of Utgard tribe.
There is still that favour that he did not yet cash in.
Of course, he could use that favour to ask Utgard tribe help him attack Sordkazan or Estkazan right now
But after thinking about it, there is too much instability that would happen if he choose that route
The area of Sordkazan, Estkazan, and Esbizuk is now tangled with each other, like three kingdoms that could not be separated.
Each one is looking at each other and trying to divine each other meaning.
If he enter this whirlpool, there is a good chance that this would unite the three and create another variable that Kaxaru probably would not want to happen.
Sordkazan and Esbizuk and Estkazan all wanted to maintain this status quo. So, what would happen to him if he tries to break this status quo?
He probably would get beaten. Even if he got the help of Utgard tribe, how could he defeat these three kingdoms of the East?
That would waste his favour.
And Kaxaru is never a person who does wasteful things. And so, he thought of another way to cash in that favor.
While he could not use it to help him attack other tribes, he could use Utgard favour to secure his borders
And there is no one else that Kaxaru trusted with the protection of the Kazan tribe than his second son.
Adept in defending battle, he is good at making the enemy exhausted and tired and is able to defend and delay time when necessary.
This is an innate talent of his sons.
He fought alongside his sons, so how could Kaxaru not know this talent of his second sons?
In the past, he even sent him to the west to fight alongside the tribes of the west and it was then that one of the people of the west told him that his sons had the talent to defend a city
If he is in Yan side, he could probably defend a city for years and could still win.
He is able to gauge logistic, good at motivating his men, knows when to use punishment and rewards, knows when to close one eyes and opens another, and knows many defensive tactics.
This ability becomes even more obvious when one of the veterans in the western tribes taught him some defending tactics .
This tactic is then used by his second sons many times to repel any attack to tehri tribes and because of that no matter how fierce the attack of other tribes to his tribe, his tribe never lost their lands to other people.
For Unench, the third son, he sent him to call upon the other small tribe chief to honour their oaths and supervise these people to know which of them would defect and which of them would stay loyal
The fourth son is ordered to take upon the law of the tribe.
the fifth son is ordered to go the east, past Timur, and go straight to Karkotta.
To Yindu.
There is a reason why he is sending his fifth son to Yindu.
The battle between Rudya and the alliance between Utgard and Kazan ends with Utgard Kazan victory.
And as such there is bounties. Rudya while they could not be considered a large tribe, they were also not that small of a tribe.
Hence, not only there is many resources, there is also many warriors, people, and exotic stuff that they got
And bounties must be traded.
For weapon and other things. Yan could not be a trading partner because who would trade with them when Aeryon just break their city a week ago?
Western Zhou is too far. Roma is even further.
So, the only choice is Yindu. Tsetlen loves travelling and he is used to lead trade convoys. He also knows how to do business.
He learns it from a Yan merchant. The Yan merchant lies to him and he chase that merchant, cut his hands and let him go
When Kaxaru ask his fifth son, why did he not kill that merchant for lying and scamming their tribes, his fifth son laughs and reply
"I cut his hands for the lie and the stealing. But I spare his life because of the lesson. Today, I learned that even with my strength, I could still be fooled and the entire tribe is fooled. Having sharp sword, but no mind, we would always be deceived by this serpent tongue Yan people"
Since then, while his fight son did not neglect martial method, he also learns methods of business.
He learns from the merchants that came and those who lies to him, he thought of it as a learning method.
He learns arithmetic and learn Yan and Yindu language. Even a few words of the Roma could be understood.
His fifth son uses his knowledge to benefit the tribe, teaching the young ones who could not fight the method of merchants, the path of prosperity, the strategy of trading
And after years of such methods, the Kazan tribe is rarely scammed by merchants for every member of the tribes knows that if they feel suspicious of some merchant just go to the Fifth Son of Kaxaru and ask him so that he could clear their doubts
The ability to prosper the tribe.
It is a pity though that while this fifth son of him has the ability to make such change toward the tribe, the method of money should be paired with the method of war.
In a land of the Great Steppe, even if you have wealth, if you do not have strength, that wealth could not be protected
His fifth son has the talent to prosper the world but not the talent to rule and conquer the world
The fifth son is Katsetlen which mean to Prosper Ka. The name is close to the trait of his fifth son.
He did not give the name wrongly
Then there is his sixth son, Uctei
The sixth son is to aid the seventh son Uctei. The Sixth son is Kakhair which means to Love Ka
Out of everyone, Kaxaru knows his sixth son the most and he loves him the most.
There is a reason for this. His sixth son is the youngest and also the most outspoken about his feelings.
He could make Kaxaru forgive him for many of his transgression.
And even though there is a few mistakes that his sixth son has made, none of the mistake he had made affect the tribes or crossing a line.
A youthful mistake could be forgiven.
And out of all his sons, this sixth son of his truly love the tribe.
And even though he is not as strong, or as smart, or as responsible as all of his others brothers, he would not hesitate to sacrifice his life for the tribe.
He ids fearful, timid, cowardly and indecisive.
Then why would Kaxaru loves him so much.
Because once, there was a situation where the Elder tent was surrounded by an enemy tribe.
The Elders are all old men and Kakhair who is fearful, timid, cowardly and indecisive, rose up, pick a sword, cast off his fear and timid nature, rush out from the tent, kills ten men and lead the Elders to run away
In that moment, he was not fearful or indecisive.
Bravery fills his heart and he rode with the elders to safety.
When Kaxaru learns of this and look at the scars on the body of his sixth son because of his desire to protect the Elders, only then his impression of his sixth son changes.
When he ask his sixth son, why would he do this, his sixth son replies, that while he is not outstanding compared to his brothers all the elders had loved him since he was a child, all the tribe members put up with his antics and he would not regret to die for them
What his sixth son possess is not the sense of responsibility toward the tribe, but a certain love towards them, the ability to see them as truly his family.
This is another trait of his sixth son that he admire. His ability to make friends, his ability to capture the hearts of the people to be loyal to him
But just like his fifth brother, he has the ability to capture people hearts, ability to make people fond of him but lack the ability to rule, conquer and pacify the world.
But as an envoy, as a representatives other tribe, this sixth son of his is more than qualified.
Uctei has a great task ordered to him. He is to aid his younger brother. And the aid he should render is to go to Brolgadhr to visit and congratulate Aeryon for his victory.
The decision to send all his seven sons to all corners of the great steppe signal something to the elders and the Ashana of the tribe.
Kaxaru wanted to hone his sons.
And he is making his move!
