Chapter 156: One Eyed Dragon I

Chapter 156: One Eyed Dragon I

The relationship between ambition and ability is a complex one, often intertwined and mutually reinforcing.

In Aeryon case, his increasing power and influence naturally fuelled his ambition.

As he continued to achieve his goals and gain dominance in his world, his vision for the future expanded in tandem.

However, this ascent came with its own set of concerns.

Aeryon couldn’t help but grapple with the notion that his ambition might begin to dictate his actions in ways he hadn’t foreseen.

The more he achieved, the more he had to lose, and the more profound the consequences of his decisions became.

Aeryon sighed

"Ambition is like a worm. It keep burrowing deeper and deeper. And in the end, would there be anything left?"

Aeryon is afraid. He is very afraid

He close his eyes and takes a deep breath

"Maybe, I would find something in the book of sages" he muttered to himself.

There is many confusons in his heart and his mind. There is his ideals and there is also reality and there is things he wanted to do and things he doesn’t want to do.

But like the clash between ideals and reality, sometimes to do things he wanted to do, to create a dream he envisioned, he had to do things he doesn’t want to do

And he doesn’t know, whether what he did is right or wrong. Is it dependeant on where he is standing, or where the position he is in or is it dep[neds on the judgmenet of people in the future, or is it depends on the judgmenet of the current tiem and era?

Should he ride the wave of this era, should he try to fight it, or should he tried to bend it to his will? So many questions and os many confusions

"Book of sages have many answers and the best book of all is where it ask question and the question birthed more thoughts."

Aeryon in his raiding did not simply raid and razed the entire villages and town that he had passed by. Instead, Aeryon did something no other raiding chief had done.

He collected books.

This is also important.

In his eyes, the Yan Empire’s advantage over the people of the Steppe was rooted in their accumulation of knowledge, which translated into a powerful heritage.

Aeryon understood that knowledge is a critical asset, and he was keen to acquire it. While the northern region might not have been a primary center of learning within the Yan Empire, it still held valuable resources, including scholars and books.

While his fellow warriors pillaged and razed villages, Aeryon prioritized the preservation of knowledge

"I did not think it would be this simple" he thought to himself

"It is because Dugu Yi is not here" he thought to himself.

"Without Dugu Yi, the northern region is practically undefended"

When Aeryon set his camp in front of the city, he got news that the other tribe is also coming to the city.

And the reason why he did not attack yet, is because he is waiting.

Aeryon has a bigger plan when he invited these tribes to follow him.

He was half expecting that tribes like the Esbizuk tribe, the Khagai tribe and the Sordkazan tribe would not come

It is a good surprise that all of them also ride toward the south.

He was prepared to raid Nurshira alone. But now that the lower part of the southern region heed his call, that is even better.

With more warriors and horses, there is many more tactics he could use and many more strategies that could be used to take the city

The northern region of Yan is vast.

This world itself is very vast when he thinks about it.

Even for the Great Steppe, the vastness of the Great Steppe itself is larger than the Great Steppe of his world

It is no wonder why almost no one manages to unite the entire Great Steppe.

For example, the western Great Steppe has his own climate, which most of it is filled with desert and sand.

As for those near the Northern Great Steppe, it is a steppe that is cold and filled with rushing wind.

"But now I have a chance to do something good. To do something.....extraordinary" he thought to himself. There is already a new plan forming in his mind and a smile form on the corner of his mouth.

"Hahaha!" he laughed.

For a moment there is a joyful feeling in his heart. This feeling of commanding wind and clouds with one wave of his hand is quite a novel feeling

With a few messages he manage to make the tribes of the lower southern great steppe to move. This kind of influence, would surely raise his prestige, he thought to himself

He then thought of something

"I should meet those three leaders" Aeryon is curious of the chief that follow his words.

The chief of Duhai and Zlata is his subordinate so when Aeryon told Durka to send men to raid Yan norther region, Durka did not hesitate as he ride with his sons and wreak havoc upon the northern region of Yan.

As for Korun tribe, that tribe is sandwiched between Sordkazan, Utgard and Brolgadhr, Aeryon did not even think of that old man and did not send any invitation.

What he is curious about is the three chiefs. The chief of the Sordkazan tribe, the chief of the Esbizuk tribe and the chief of Khagai.

Both Esbizuk tribe and Sordkazan has been expanding their land.

Sordkazan attacked Tuvan tribe and defeated them while Esbizuk tribe rode toward the west and fought against the Kyara tribe and Lushar tribe, taking those two tribes and uniting them under one banner, imitating Aeryon method of sparing those who surrender.

When Aeryon got the report about the Esbizuk tribe leader and his action, Aeryon could not help but remark to himself

"An ambitious chief."

As for Sordkazan, Aeryon still could not make a true assessment of this chief. Because Sordkazan tribe history is quite....complicated.

And then there is the Khagai tribe. This is a tribe renowned for their fighting abilities and their adaptability as they have been fighting with the Western Zhou soldiers for a long time.

And they also have experience raiding the Western Zhou Eastern region.

"I need to meet these three and see whether they could become friends.....or enemies" and then as a plan form in his head, he summons his messenger and give his message.

That day, all the three leaders get the same message and they all frowned when they listen to the message

...

The tents of the four chiefs stood apart, several miles from each other, each a symbol of their prestige and power.

First, there is Aeryon reddish-black tent, a formidable structure that radiated authority and strength.

Next came the Khagai tribe’s tent, a striking yellow canopy that, when viewed from a distance, gleamed like pure gold, a testament to their wealth and influence.

The Sordkazan chief’s tent, in stark contrast, is grey in color, adorned with a banner displaying interlocking rings reminiscent of blades.

The flag itself is blue, its central emblem depicting a stone split into four fragments. These fragments corresponded to the four splinter tribes of the Kazan, a reflection of their shared history and unity.

Lastly, the Esbizuk tribe’s chief tent stood proudly in deep blue, emblazoned with the image of the moon on the flag and banner of its warriors, a symbol of their connection to the celestial realm and their unique identity among the tribes.

Inside the Esbizuk tribe, Tsendeama Son of Uda, the chief of the Esbizuk tribe pace alone in his tent.

He gritted his teeth and then laugh

"what a man!" he exclaimed.

Tsendeama just got the message from Aeryon camp. Aeryon wanted to meet all of them tomorrow in his tent to coordinate the attack.

Tsendeama which is also called Dama by his people could not help but feel angry.

He heard all about Aeryon.

Just like Aeryon send men to find out about him, Dama also send people to find information about Aeryon.

Aeryon when he first learns about Dama, was very shocked and felt that there is also ambitious men in the Steppe other than him,

It is the same feeling when Dama learns about Aeryon. It is said that heroes would cherish fellow heroes and that is the feeling that they both feel for each other.

But cherishing each other is one thing and leading a tribe as their chief is another. Aeryon has a great ambition. And Dama also have a great ambition.

When this same kind of people meet with each other, how could fire not spark?

Dama is unlike Aeryon. He was born as Erandama. And he is the eldest of Uda son of Barghai.

His clan is the Esbizuk clan. They were the ones that carve a place for themselves near the mountain ranges of Yindu, occupying the easternmost area of the Southern Great Steppe.

His mother is Nurmani, the daughter of Yakrai. When he is born the tribe of Esbizuk and the tribe of his mother united with each other, increasing the power of the Esbizuk tribe.

People who met with Dama all would have their eyes concentrated on one thing. And that is they would look at Dama eyes.

There is an eyepatch on his right eye. And he is known among the eastern area of the Southern Great Steppe as the One Eyed Dragon
