Chapter 41: Layout of the Plans(Bonus)

Black fog swirled in arcs of smooth, spiraling magic. Cold wind poured from within, carrying the scent of iron, frost, and old oaths. Dominic glanced back once at his room — the one where he had made so many decisions, where dreams had died and steel had been drawn.

Lady Fares stepped into his way. He slammed against her robust breasts which gave him a lovely feel. He wantedti stay on it but Fares was here for business.

"We need to talk." Lady Fares said bluntly. She had switched to the deadly Queen she was. Dominic tripped backwards and adjusted himself.

"What about? Coris?" Dominic asked curiously. Lady Fares waved her hand in affirmation.

"Something bigger. There is danger Dominic. She is planning to kill you." Dominic stared at her in shock.

For a second he could not move his lips. He wasn’t shocked that Lady Fares knew or that Coris was attempting to kill him. He was shocked at the way he was feeling horny towards her.

Her breasts rose higher as he stared at them. Lady Fares stared at him wondering if he felt the intensity of she had said or if he hadn’t heard her at all.

"What’s with you?" She asked and it was then that Dominic realised himself. He flushed red with embarrassment.

"Sorry. I was just engrossed."

"Engrossed?.." Lady Fares said in disbelief. "In what exactly." She asked. Dominic smiled naughtily. His eyes motioned at her breasts.

Lady Fares stared at him in shock. She was speaking of his life and death and all he could think of was boobs? Damn! Discouraging.

"She has plans with some other forces. Powerful ones. And then, she is not the only one in all these. On your head is a palatable price. Whoever gets your head is rewarded handsomely by the Bulzen Lord." She said.

Dominic was struggling to understand what she meant by Bulzen Lord. He seemed to be much more powerful than anything. If he could command and also power unheard of, then he ought to be a high ranked personality.

[The Bulzen Lord is the ruler of this world. He is similar to God of earth. He is the MC of this story.]

Dominic gasped as he heard the system’s mechanical voice echo in his head. How the hell was he supposed to overpower a god. He hadn’t finished off with the non gods here.

Lady Fares stared at him thinking he had undertook the weight of his condition but it was far from that.

"I sketched out a plan. Seems like Coris will lead in another attack. This is to get prepared." Dominic said and handed over a sketch of his plan. Her eyes scanned through it and she nodded brilliantly. Dominic smiled as he knew she liked his sketch.

She turned to him suddenly and snapped her fingers. Then his vision blurred.

The world around him twisted like smoke on water — no floor beneath his feet, no ceiling above. Only the sound of whispering wind and thousands of distant voices, like soldiers chanting beneath the earth.

Then, as quickly as it began, it stopped.

They arrived.

Dominic stepped onto jagged black stone carved into high ridges. The Ghost Gorge stretched before him — a colossal ravine carved by time, battles, and ancient magic. Mountains towered around the valley like guardians. Hidden passageways slithered between the rocks. At the center, a massive fortress rose from the stone, built into the wall of the gorge itself — shadow-black, silent, and monstrous in scale.

It wasn’t beautiful.

It was terrifying.

Dominic could feel it — the pressure of unspoken stories lingering in the air. This was where traitors were broken, where the forgotten trained, where demons had once fled.

"Why are here? What is this place?" Dominic asked curiously. Lady Fares smiled.

"You wanted an army right?" Lady Fares asked but he kept muted. "This is the base of the Ghost Military Force. You will have pick your warriors from here."

He followed Lady Fares as they crossed the broken path toward the fortress. Soldiers in dark armor, faces hidden behind veils and helmets, watched him with silent intensity. They suddenly bowed as Lady Fares walked past them.

One by one, they stepped aside.

Lady Fares didn’t speak until they entered the fortress itself — through a huge gate covered in ancient runes. The air inside was cold, but clean. Torches flickered with green flame. There were no decorations. Only weapons. Swords, bows, axes — all perfectly aligned in racks along the walls.

"Not impressed by gold or thrones?" Dominic muttered.

Lady Fares glanced at him. "Gold doesn’t win wars. These people survive by discipline, not pride."

She led him down the main hall — past shadow-forged statues of long-dead Generals. The walls bore the scars of past battles: claw marks, explosions, and curses that still faintly glowed.

Finally, they reached a large circular chamber at the fortress heart — a war room with a map carved into the floor. Lines of battle, secret routes, and locations of known demon lords were etched into the obsidian tiles.

There, standing with arms crossed, was Commander Lillian.

She was tall, lean, and carved from sharp angles. Her armor was dark grey laced with deep crimson, and her long braided hair was draped over one shoulder like a rope ready to be used as a weapon. Her expression wasn’t cruel — just calculating.

Her eyes, cold as river ice, locked onto Dominic the moment he entered.

"Greetings my queen. " she said. "Why bring him with you?" her voice firm but not mocking.

"Your new General girl." A smirk appeared on her lips. She was urged to confront her but she decided against it. The sins of the parents did not always have to tangle with the children.

Dominic stared at Lady Fares in shock. "I am?"

"Yes. Now that Coris has betrayed us we will need a new one. You are the best one I can think of now."

She approached slowly, her boots clicking against the stone floor.

"I’ve bled for this Force since I was twelve. I’ve buried three superiors, two of them because they lost their minds. This place eats the weak. If you think power makes you a leader, you’ll die before the next moon," Lillian smirked lightly.

Dominic met her gaze. "I don’t care what power says. I’ve seen worse than death. I don’t want loyalty from fear. I want allies who believe in surviving this war."

A moment passed.

Lillian’s eyes narrowed, searching him — perhaps for weakness, perhaps for truth.

Then she extended her hand.

"We’ll see if you’re worthy."

Dominic shook it.

Lady Fares watched from the edge of the room with a strange look — almost proud, but distant.

"He needs to see the units," Lillian said to her. "They’re not ready. Morale is fractured. Half don’t believe this war is real. The other half think they’re already dead."

"He will," Lady Fares replied. "Give him three days. And then begin the trial."

Dominic turned. "What trial?"

Lillian smirked, a hint of something brutal in her gaze.

"If you want to be General of the Ghost Force... you have to earn it. With blood, not words."

Outside, the wind howled through the gorge.

The army of shadows stirred.

Dominic had arrived — but his true battle was just beginning.
