Chapter 115: Fury Got A Face & Target
[KAWAI]
’You won’t do anything, Tamiko. You try shit and I tell your daddy dearest that you are his son. Think of what that will do to his reputation. Imagine the big bad king being vested by a mere werewolf,’ Gabe warned and Tamiko let out a maniacal laugh loudly.
This Grealor alpha was walking on thin ice but he still didn’t even realize that. It was insane what kind of hell Gabe was aiming at, but he needed to take a step back and realize he was shooting himself in the foot. This wouldn’t end well for him.
Tamiko was never the kind to be threatened, and that too in front of a father he had just found recently. Tamiko could tell that the king was at a crossroads for a moment there, because he hadn’t been expecting his son to have two mates, but wasn’t that fate?
Defiantly, Tamiko stared between Gabe and Kosta, before he focused on the Lycan chief who would give up the world for him. The lust and desire in his eyes for Kosta was so intense that even the people around them started feeling the effect of Tamiko’s aura.
However, even with all that desire, the young Lycan was pissed and needed blood so badly.
"Kosta..." Tamiko said to his erasthai, looking at the man like the world was suddenly just the two of them. Kosta knew this was a trap, he knew he shouldn’t have fallen into this trap by his Erasthai, but then he had had a taste of Tamiko before, and was addicted.
"What is it, my beautiful," Igor asked, his eyes masking and turning dark, to show that his Lycan was out already. There was a lot that could happen just here between them and frankly. It didn’t seem like they both cared about that at all.
Kosta wanted Tamiko and he wasn’t thinking straight. Everyone at the Lycan mating ball was not sure if this was the best of ideas or even a place for them to be at. Suddenly they were all third-wheeling.
No one was ever going to understand whatever the fuck was going on here and boy was it crazy. The clouds were gathering and the winds had begun growing harsher, not to mention the moon was shining a little too brightly than ever seen.
The people of the old Kawai knew that this was something that only ever happened when a royal was pissed. And since Kosta was not a royal and Zaffuto wasn’t exactly angry enough to stir up a tsunami, then the kid in the middle of the mess had to be it.
"Mark me, please," Tamiko said to Kosta, who didn’t hesitate.
The rational Lycan chief would have tried to talk the kid out of this and tried to make him see sense, not to mention told him that this wasn’t the best of times, but then he was gone too, thanks to Gabe’s stint.
In the place of the rational Lycan chief, was Igor Konstantin, a man who only ever bowed to the love of his life, the Lycan prince. When it came to Tamiko, Kosta was a goner and hells be damned, he never said no to his erasthai, and he wasn’t about to begin.
The Lycan king was watching this in silence, studying the situation, watching as his son leaned to the chief so willingly, while his eyes defiantly stared at the alpha on the seat, as if to send a message to everyone at the mating ball.
"As you wish, my beautiful," Kosta responded before he sank his fangs into Tamiko’s bare chest, leaving a crown mark on it. Lycans always had a choice on where they could mark their mates, unlike wolves who had to mark their mates on the necks.
So, when Kosta chose to mark Tamiko on the chest, the one place he always lay his head for the night whenever he slept with his erasthai, the message was loud and clear for Gabriel Grealor.
Tamiko was taken.
And fury got a face.
"No!!!!!" Gabe cried out in agony, the pain in his heart increasing as he watched Kosta lap at the chest he had always wished to see for himself.
The young Grealor had always wanted to be the one to mark Tamiko, because despite everything that had happened, Gabe was still in love with Tamiko Hinata, his impossible love, thanks to his stupidity and history.
"I love you," Tamiko said to Kosta who was still awed by the mark on the Lycan prince’s chest. This mark right here was a reminder of so many things. It meant that Tamiko belonged to Kosta and more than anything, that Tamiko had made his choice.
Granted, Tamiko wouldn’t mark Kosta today since that would mean breaking his cursed bond with Gabriel thus giving up his vengeance, but then this was worse than any rejection Gabriel Grealor would ever face.
His mate had rejected him indirectly, and that would forever haunt him worse than the days when Tamiko had forced him to be an omega. This was utter humiliation and his heart couldn’t take it anymore, so he tried to leave, only to be stopped by Zaffuto.
"Don’t be too fast to leave now, Gabriel. These things happen. Won’t you be happy for a WOLF from your pack? I thought you just said that you’re here to see your people happily mated. Tamiko from your pack is mated, aren’t you excited?" the Lycan king taunted.
He knew what it meant to be rejected and frankly, he hated seeing people being rejected. But then this was the kind of rejection that got him curious. Tamiko didn’t hesitate to choose Kosta even after the confession by Gabe.
Instead of responding to Gabe’s sudden outburst of affection, he confessed to the Lycan chief, a power so bold that no one would dare step in the direction of Tamiko without thinking of the Lycan chief. Oh, this was interesting.
"What?" Gabe asked as he looked at the Lycan king, whose eyes were unrelenting. There was something in the way that the king was looking at Gabe. It was like he was telling Gabe that the time for putting on shows was over.
The Lycan king was sending an indirect warning to Gabriel Grealor and it was right there in those dark eyes, the eyes that were so cold and chilly even though the face was lit up with smiles you would think Lian had come back to life.
"The congratulations, alpha. Or will you back out just because you were rejected by the outcast of your pack? Don’t you think that’s a cowardly move?" King Zaffuto taunted and Gabe grit his teeth while Sadako instinctively stepped back.
He had seen this move one too many times with his brother and frankly, the Lycan king had made a target out of Gabriel Grealor. If Zaffuto didn’t know Gabe’s history with Tamiko, it was just a matter of time before he knew, and it wouldn’t end well.
"Of course, I am happy for him. I wanted him for myself, but since he chose a Lycan chief as his alpha, I have to approve that. Besides, that makes it easier for the relationship between Grealor and Kawai. So, congratulations, Tamiko," Gabe forced out.
"Alright everyone back to partying. And may the goddess grant you sensible mates and not stupid ones!!!" the Lycan king shouted, making Tamiko snicker, as the music was played and everyone danced along.
That right there had been a targeted attack.
Would Gabe survive though?
