Chapter 417: The grand escape

Lian set her glass down and approached the fallen man. "You should have taken the wine," she remarked.

"Quit taunting him and help me with his legs," Mei retorted.

Xiang Yu instructed, "Put him in my bed," before heading to his study to gather the essentials for his escape.

Lian and Mei dragged the unconscious mercenary to the bed. Lian tossed him onto it, and Mei removed his shoes. "Hurry up before they check in again," Lian urged.

Mei shot her a glare. "Do you want to swap?"

"No thanks," Lian replied, placing an identity changing device in the man’s ear. "Then don’t rush me," Mei retorted, finishing up and covering the man with a quilt.

"What about the body pillow?" Lian asked just as Xiang Yu reentered the room.

"No," Xiang Yu replied, his tone resolute. It was a hard no that came from the deepest depths of his soul.

"Master, you are supposed to make it more convincing," Lian protested.

Xiang Yu took away his body pillow, saying, "No need. We will be long gone by the time they realize something’s wrong."

There was no way he was letting another man sleep with his body pillow, which had his boyfriend’s face on it.

With a possessive glint in his eyes he began meticulously packing it into his travel bag. "It’s coming with me," he declared, his voice leaving no room for argument.

Lian and Mei, who had been observing him with amusement, exchanged giggles. "Master is so cute when he is jealous," Mei whispered to Lian.

"Yeah," Lian agreed, "he really loves his man."

Xiang Yu huffed, a faint blush dusting his cheeks. "Have you seen how good-looking he is? Who can resist such a face?" he retorted, though a hint of pride laced his tone.

The girls chuckled, their mirth only amplifying Xiang Yu’s slight embarrassment. He waved a hand dismissively. "Hurry up and leave first," he instructed, changing the subject. "Remember to meet me at the port."

"Okay," Lian chirped, her usual bubbly self. "We just need to lose the guards Grandpa put on us."

"They’re more like babysitters, to be honest," Mei added, rolling her eyes.

Xiang Yu considered this. "If you can’t shake them off, don’t worry too much about it," he said, a touch of indifference in his voice. "You can stay with your grandpa."

The girls’ smiles vanished, replaced by looks of utter dismay. They instantly began to wail, tears welling up in their eyes. Lian threw her arms around Xiang Yu, pouting dramatically. "Master, you don’t want us anymore!"

"Yeah," Mei echoed, clinging to his other arm. "You want to leave us behind! You are a terrible master!"

Xiang Yu struggled, a mixture of exasperation and fondness on his face. "Okay, okay!" he surrendered, finally managing to free himself from their grasp. "I will wait for you."

The girls’ tears miraculously dried up, replaced by beaming smiles. "Yay! We are going on a road trip!" Lian exclaimed, clapping her hands.

"Master, keep your word," Mei said, her eyes sparkling with excitement.

"I will," Xiang Yu promised, a small smile playing on his lips as he watched them skip out of the room, their earlier dramatic act long forgotten. He bit his lower lip thoughtfully.

He needed to leave Han Xin a way to find him, a way that others wouldn’t be able to decipher. His gaze fell upon the picture of the house, tucked away in the safe. He retrieved it and, with a sharpie, drew a heart on the back.

Leaving the room, he headed towards the opposite wing, where Han Xin was supposed to be staying. The room was dark, and he flicked on the lights. He walked over to the window, where a flourishing potato plant stood, almost mocking him.

He placed the picture beside the plant, then took off his communicator and laid it down as well. He gently caressed a green leaf, a slight curl appearing at the corner of his lip. He was thinking how long would it take for Han Xin to find him? A week, a month or maybe two? However long he would wait for him.

As he turned to leave, he placed a small, innocuous looking device on the floor. It silently expanded into a large circle. Xiang Yu stepped onto it, and his body was enveloped in a soft blue light. This was a long distance teleportation device, a rare piece of technology even in this advanced era.

Most such devices were military grade and designed for short range teleportation. This particular one, however, had been robbed from the Marshal by his two little accomplices. Xiang Yu could only imagine the Marshal’s reaction when he discovered its absence.

The interstellar port was a kaleidoscope of activity, teeming with a dazzling array of private space fleets. Vessels of every conceivable shape and size, crafted with cutting edge stealth technology, glided silently through the starlit expanse. Each ship, a symbol of the wealth and status of its owner, was a masterpiece of design and engineering.

At the outskirts of the port, a radiant blue light pierced the darkness, illuminating the sleek lines of the spacecraft docked in the hangar. Out of the shimmering air, a figure materialized.

It was Xiang Yu. With the grace of a shadow, he stepped out of the ethereal glow and into the hangar, his presence commanding attention even in the vastness of space.

Xiang Yu approached a spacecraft of unparalleled design, its metallic surface reflecting the ambient light in mesmerizing patterns. As he neared, the ship’s sensors activated, scanning his biometrics with meticulous precision. The door slid open with a smooth, almost silent motion, granting him entry.

The Xiang Yu of this world wasn’t stupid. He had always known that he would clash with his father at some point and had an exit strategy and this spacecraft, house and reserved Star Coins were all a part of it.

Inside, the spacecraft defied its exterior appearance. The interior was a marvel of luxury and opulence, exuding an air of sophisticated elegance.

Xiang Yu took a moment to admire the spacious layout, the plush furnishings, and the intricate detailing that adorned every surface. He moved through the cabin, his footsteps barely audible on the soft, richly carpeted floor.

He inspected the four cabins, each one equipped with all the basic necessities and more. The cabins were designed with an emphasis on comfort and convenience, featuring state-of-the-art amenities that catered to every possible need.

The attention to detail was impeccable, from the ambient lighting that adjusted to his mood to the advanced climate control that ensured optimal comfort.

Satisfied with his inspection, Xiang Yu settled into the captain’s chair waiting for Lian and Mei. An hour later, the doors opened, and Lian and Mei ran in while breathing heavily.

They had seriously underestimated their bodyguard. They used the same method to knock her out as the mercenary at the palace but this woman was incredibly
