Chapter 391: Where is the fun in that?
"Who, them? Nah," Xiang Yu replied with a dismissive wave. "They will stop fighting and get up to some mischief very soon."
Han Xin held up Xiang Yu’s leg, helping him slide on the boot. He tied the shoelace carefully, his brow furrowing with concern. "If you feel any discomfort, just stop. I will avenge you in the future."
Xiang Yu chuckled softly. "Don’t worry. I won’t push myself too far."
Han Xin finished tying the laces and looked up, searching Xiang Yu’s eyes for assurance. "You promise?"
Xiang Yu caressed Han Xin’s chin, his touch gentle. "I promise."
Just as Xiang Yu had predicted, the twins stopped fooling around and were already up to no good. Lian looked at him with a bright smile. "Master, we will put money on you."
Mei chimed in, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "Yes! You will win against that bastard, and we will be rich!"
Xiang Yu raised an eyebrow. "Are you short of money? I can transfer some to you so you will stop gambling."
Mei shook her head, a playful pout on her lips. "Where is the fun in that?"
Lian nodded, her arms crossed. "We like earning our own money by taking it from stupid people."
Xiang Yu chuckled, a warm smile spreading across his face. "Fine, I will win to fill up your pockets." He stood up, and Han Xin reached out, holding his hand. Han Xin rubbed his thumb gently on the back of Xiang Yu’s hand.
"Remember what you promised?" Han Xin asked, concern flickering in his eyes.
"I will," Xiang Yu replied confidently. Just then, they heard a soft click.
Mei had just taken a picture of them holding hands. "Oh no!" she swore, realizing she had been caught.
Lian rolled her eyes. "You idiot! Why didn’t you mute the shutter sound?"
"How was I supposed to know it was on?" Mei shot back, defensively.
Xiang Yu laughed, while Han Xin felt his face flush, unsure where to put his eyes. He wasn’t worried that Lian and Mei would post the pictures on Star Net. He was more concerned about how to ask them to send them to him privately.
"Here, take another one," Xiang Yu said, a mischievous glint in his eyes. Before Han Xin could react, Xiang Yu leaned in and kissed him. Mei captured that moment with her camera, while Lian squealed in excitement. Christmas came too early for them.

The four of them left the private room, their spirits high. As they walked down the hallway to the arena entrance, they encountered Sirius. He looked far from serious, a sly smirk dancing on his lips. His attendant adjusted the zipper near his neck while he turned to Xiang Yu.
"I thought you would have changed your mind and let your guard dog fight for you," he taunted.
Lian and Mei, who already disliked Sirius, immediately shifted into fight mode. They stepped in front of Xiang Yu, their expressions fierce, like loyal dogs ready to protect their master. To Sirius, they looked less like fierce dogs and more like little puppies throwing a tantrum.
A flicker of surprise crossed Sirius’s face. He hadn’t realized that Xiang Yu had become so close to the former Marshal’s granddaughters. He had to admire Xiang Yu’s skills in forging such strong bonds.
"Interesting," he murmured, eyes narrowing as he sized up the group. The tension hung in the air, but Xiang Yu stood tall, his gaze steady.
He placed his hands on Lian and Mei’s shoulders, grounding them. Their auras restrained, but their glares were sharp and deadly, like vipers ready to strike at any moment. One misstep from Sirius, and they would pounce.
"I wouldn’t miss out on the pleasure of beating you up myself," Xiang Yu declared, striding confidently toward the large arena doors.
Sirius laughed, leaning casually against Xiang Yu. The moment caught Xiang Yu off guard, and he didn’t have time to react when a plasma blade pressed inches from Sirius’s throat.
The people of the Federation who accompanied Sirius quickly drew their weapons, aiming them at Han Xin. Lian and Mei were not to be messed with. Mei swiftly pulled her plasma bow, while Lian unsheathed her double plasma sword, aiming it at the men threatening Han Xin.
The atmosphere thickened with tension. Han Xin’s eyes were cold, his posture menacing. He looked ready to follow through on his threat to attack Sirius.
"Your Highness, is this how you want to end our peaceful treaty?" Sirius taunted, his voice oozing sarcasm.
"Get your arm off me," Xiang Yu snapped.
"Fine fine," Sirius replied, reluctantly pulling his hand away from him shoulders the searing heat of the plasma blade at his neck following him. He raised his hands in surrender. "There. Now tell your henchmen to stand down."
Xiang Yu called to Han Xin, who raised the blade a fraction higher as if he truly intended to end Sirius right there. After a heartbeat, he retracted it, but the threat remained.
"Dang, I almost lost my head. You have such loyal followers," Sirius said, rubbing his neck.
Xiang Yu ignored him, continuing to walk toward the arena. Sirius quickly caught up, a new glint of mischief in his eyes. "How about this... we make the fight more interesting."
Xiang Yu arched an eyebrow. "How?"
Sirius smiled, a gleam of excitement in his expression. "If you win, we can sign the peace treaty today."
Xiang Yu sneered. "You don’t have the power."
"It hurts my feelings that you underestimate me, your Highness," Sirius replied, his tone shifting as seriousness crept in. "I have more power than you think. I can have my father sign the treaty without you having to marry my sister."
Han Xin’s instincts flared. He knew Sirius was a liar. Beneath his bubbly demeanour lay a lunatic, a madman who couldn’t be trusted.
"And if I lose?" Xiang Yu asked, his tone flat.
Sirius smirked, casting a mocking glance at Han Xin. "You will marry me."
Xiang Yu looked at Sirius as if he were an idiot. Lian and Mei tensed, ready to fight, while Han Xin felt a surge of regret for not ending Sirius just moments before.
"How about it, your Highness? Either way, you get what you want... peace." Sirius stepped closer, his eyes glinting with challenge. "What is it, your Highness? Afraid to take on this bet because you will lose?"
Sirius’s confidence surged. He was well aware of Xiang Yu’s reputation of poor combat skills and big ego. He believed that if he bruised Xiang Yu’s pride, the young prince would take the bet.
Instead, Xiang Yu sneered and said, "Get lost,"before continuing to walk past Sirius. It seemed the intel he received about Xiang Yu’s ego was all wrong.
Sirius’s jaw tightened and then relaxed, frustration bubbling beneath the surface. He always got what he wanted, and he intended for Xiang Yu to be no exception.
