Chapter 388: Praying for love and marriage

Peng Xiu, ever the intruder, chimed in without a hint of awareness. "We will come too! Let’s go together." Xiang Yu’s smile vanished not at her words, but that Han Xin had already pulled his hand back.

The four of them excused themselves and walked towards the grand hall where the temple of the Goddess of Love and Marriage was located. Han Xin was forced to walk a bit further away from Xiang Yu. He watched the four of them walk into the grand hall.

Xiang Yu realized then that he had to teach this prince some manners. He wanted to beat him bloody till his own mother couldn’t recognise him. He had to find the perfect opportunity otherwise he would have to put a sack over his head and beat his ass.

Meanwhile, the priestess anointed Peng Xiu and Sienna with sacred oils, invoking the goddess’s blessing for a harmonious and everlasting union in their futures. She gave them jade charms anointed by her chanting words of blessing. After she was done, Sienna walked over excitedly, and Xiang Yu asked, "Are you done?"

Sienna said, "Yes."

Xiang Yu said, "Let’s go."

Sienna wanted to gift the jade charm to Xiang Yu, but she knew he would reject it, so she put it away. They walked out into the large garden, which was ethereal and relaxing. "I am fine," Han Xin replied.

Peng Xiu’s eyes sparkled, and she was feeling so giddy that she didn’t even notice his dismissiveness. "I brought you a gift," she said.

Han Xin glanced down at the jade charm that he was very familiar with. In his past life, she had come to him with this very same charm after the news that Princess Sienna had died. He had taken it then, not knowing what it was. It was only when Han Zhan told him that it was the charm from Cesra’s temple that he returned it back to her and she threw a fit. This time, however, he wasn’t going to accept it.

"Your Highness, I can’t accept anything from you. It will displease his highness," Han Xin said. Xiang Yu would not only be displeased but he would chew him up and spit him out.

Peng Xiu was very unhappy. She put on a sad face, pouting with a look that invoked people’s protective instincts, but it did nothing for Han Xin.

"But brother, why are you addressing me like this? Did Xiang Yu tell you not to speak to me anymore?" she asked.

"This has nothing to do with him," Han Xin replied.

Peng Xiu couldn’t believe it. "But we have been friends for such a long time. Why should things change now?"

Han Xin was about to tell her that they couldn’t be friends anymore when he raised his head and met Xiang Yu’s gaze. His heart suddenly leapt in his chest like he had been caught doing something he shouldn’t be doing. He caught up with Xiang Yu and wasn’t sure if he was angry or not, but he couldn’t ask him right now, especially with Sirius hot on Xiang Yu’s tail.

He followed behind him, resisting the urge to beat Sirius and gouge out his eyes making sure he would never look at Xiang Yu with those filthy eyes again. Han Xin suddenly noticed the charm in Xiang Yu’s hand. He didn’t think Xiang Yu would be the type to ask for charms in the temple.

Just then, he heard Sienna giggling with her sister, who had come looking for her. Sienna opened her palm, and in her hand was a charm similar to the one Xiang Yu had, with the only difference being the colour. Han Xin’s chest felt heavy, but he didn’t show it on his face.

Xiang Yu was unaware that he had been misunderstood. He was preoccupied thinking of ways to slaughter Peng Xiu in this world. He had already come up with twenty painful deaths that would make her suffer so much that she would carry trauma in the next world.
