Chapter 338: Drinking vinegar hahaha
Xiao He exited Xiang Yu’s bed chambers, his head lowered in shame and fear. He took two steps before suddenly bumping into someone. He was met with a pair of polished formal shoes and knew exactly who it was. He immediately stuttered, "So-sorry."
Xiao He wanted to walk away, but he felt a heavy force pressing him down, forcing him to kneel. The force was even more oppressive than Xiang Yu’s. Xiao He felt he couldn’t breathe, his consciousness being attacked by an invisible weight. He collapsed to the floor, scratching at his neck in a desperate attempt to breathe.
Han Xin glared at him with a deadly stare, but he didn’t lay a hand on him, nor did he speak. Xiao He managed to let out a broken plea, "Ha-... ple-... spare... life."
Han Xin retracted his oppressive aura, and Xiao He could finally breathe again. He coughed vehemently, like a man who had just survived drowning. Xiao He wanted to apologize for what he did, but when he met Han Xin’s murderous gaze, he picked himself up and ran for his life.
Xiao He was mistaken. Xiang Yu was far less scary compared to Han Xin. If Xiang Yu was the devil, then Han Xin was the one who created him. Han Xin watched Xiao He’s disappearing figure and clicked his tongue in annoyance. He looked at the door Xiao He had come from and felt even more irritated.
The hallway was silent, the tension from the encounter lingering in the air. Han Xin’s mind raced with thoughts of what had transpired in Xiang Yu’s room.
A few minutes later, Xiang Yu opened the door and walked out, thinking he would be late if he stayed any longer. Just as he stepped out, his shirt not buttoned all the way, he met Han Xin standing in the hallway as though waiting for him. Xiang Yu fixed his blazer while saying, "Why didn’t you get in?"
Han Xin glanced at the open collar and fought off the urge to fix it. "Never mind, let’s go, we will be late," Xiang Yu said, beginning to walk toward the stairs. But Han Xin remained rooted on the spot.
"Your Highness," Han Xin called out.
Xiang Yu stopped and turned back, seeing that Han Xin was still standing there. "What’s wrong?" he asked, seeming genuinely worried. "Are you feeling unwell? I can ask for leave for you."
Han Xin felt something heavy in his chest hearing Xiang Yu’s concern. "No, I am fine," he replied.
"Then what is it?" Xiang Yu asked, his tone very patient.
Han Xin took a deep breath. "About being your attendant, since you don’t need my services anymore, what is the point of keeping me here?"
Xiang Yu’s eyes narrowed, and he had a bad premonition. Sure enough, Han Xin continued, "Since Your Highness has others to serve him, may you allow me to go and work for Peng Xiu?"
Han Xin didn’t really want to work with Peng Xiu. His true purpose was to take back his position beside Xiang Yu, but if he said it directly, Xiang Yu might refuse. Since Peng Xiu was his bottom line, he took advantage of it. As expected, Xiang Yu’s expression changed. His eyes instantly turned dark, and his aura became fierce.
"You will not go work for that bitch. You belong to me, you understand?" Xiang Yu’s voice was firm and possessive.
Han Xin’s breath caught in his chest. He couldn’t fathom what he had just heard. "But you don’t want me," Han Xin said, deliberately choosing his words.
Xiang Yu didn’t even realize the ambiguity in his words. He relaxed a little and said, "I want you, but I don’t want you to do something you don’t want to."
"But I want to," Han Xin replied, his voice steady.
Xiang Yu’s brow arched, feeling something wasn’t right with this conversation. "Okay, okay, you can serve me if you want to."
"Then I will be your only attendant," Han Xin insisted.
"Yes, yes, you will be the only one. Now let’s go," Xiang Yu said.
Han Xin wanted to say, "Then get rid of Xiao He," but before he could, Xiang Yu grabbed his hand and dragged him down the stairs. Han Xin wanted to take back his hand, but he couldn’t. Like a magnet, he was drawn to Xiang Yu’s touch. What surprised him the most was that he didn’t dislike it at all.
Xiang Yu disregarded the odd looks they were getting from the staff they met on the way. He reached the hovercar outside, his fingers still clasping Han Xin’s hand tightly. The steward, hearing that the prince was leaving for the academy without eating, rushed over, calling, "Your Highness, wait!"
Xiang Yu turned back and said, "I am already late, old man."
The steward saw the two people’s clasped hands and halted his steps. "Oh, Your Highness, then don’t forget to take something for your hangover."
Xiang Yu said, "Sure," as he got in the hovercar, but those words weren’t for him. They were for Han Xin. The steward didn’t want to say it directly. Han Xin nodded his head slightly and got into the hovercar.
The steward saw them off, and when the hovercar was out of sight, he grinned like a fool. He was like a father-in-law who had just found a wife for his unruly son.
Meanwhile, Xiang Yu had no idea that the steward was already giving out wedding candy. He was sitting in the hovercar, looking at his floating screen. He had been looking for someone to get dirt on his father and the events that happened when the former imperial Lord and his imperial empress died.
For that, he had to ask for help from the Divine Emperor. The Divine Emperor gave him a username on StarNet, but the person hadn’t replied until now. The username BlackLily replied with one sentence: "Are you 5-0?" Xiang Yu chuckled softly and replied.
Opposite him, Han Xin was feeling unhappy... very unhappy. His heart was heavy with discontent. He had felt a profound sense of loss when Xiang Yu had finally released his hand as if a part of him had been taken away. The warmth still lingered on his skin, an unbearable reminder of what had just transpired.
He clenched his fist, trying to shake off the sensation, but it only deepened his frustration. He glanced up at Xiang Yu, who appeared blissfully unaffected, chuckling at the screen as if their moment had been nothing more than a fleeting whim. Han Xin’s heart raced with a mix of anger and confusion. Was he just a pastime for Xiang Yu?
He suddenly felt dissatisfied. He felt like he had been played. Xiang Yu probably didn’t like him that much; otherwise, he wouldn’t be happily chuckling with someone else right now. Shouldn’t he be taking the chance to be with him and develop feelings? Shouldn’t he be overwhelmed with feelings, shaken to his core? The more he thought about it, the angrier he became.
The hovercar came to a stop at the academy, the sleek vehicle’s doors hissing open. Han Xin’s patience frayed, and without a word, he stormed out catching Xiang Yu off guard. He closed the chat interface while yelling, "Han Xin!" but Han Xin was already striding away, shoulders rigid, ignoring him completely.
Xiang Yu exited the hovercar and yelled after him again, desperation tinging his voice, but Han Xin only quickened his pace. His gaze swept over the gathering of students who were looking at him, their eyes wide with curiosity, and irritation flared within him.
He scolded them saying, "What are you looking at? Get to class." His aura was so domineering that, for a moment, they obeyed before they realized what they were doing. They immediately scurried away like startled birds.
As the crowd dispersed, Xiang Yu’s chest tightened with confusion and concern, a storm of emotions swirling within him. He turned back, his heart heavy, wondering how he had angered this ancestor again.
