Chapter 321: Standing for his man
AN: I thought I would fail but here we are. A Christmas Chapter. Merry Christmas to you all and eat till you drop. I know I am.
Xiang Yu had Fang Aungier in a chokehold, his grip firm and unyielding. He forced Fang Aungier to look at Han Xin, a devilish smile playing on his lips as he stared at Han Xin. Leaning in close, Xiang Yu whispered, "Apologize to him."
Fang Aungier’s eyes widened slightly, but before he could utter a word, Xiang Yu tightened his grip, causing Fang Aungier to grimace in pain.
"Otherwise, I will make you wish you never even looked at Han Xin. I will make your life miserable," Xiang Yu whispered again, his voice like the whispers of a devil in the middle of the night, vowing to ruin his life while its long, cold claws grazed his soul.
Fang Aungier wanted to dismiss him, but for some reason, he believed Xiang Yu would do as he said. Terrified, he swallowed hard, his Adam’s apple bobbing. "I... I am sorry," he stammered.
Xiang Yu’s smile widened. "Sorry, to who? There are plenty of people here. Lian, is he apologizing to you?"
Lian, counting her winnings, smiled and said, "Nope."
Xiang Yu turned to Mei. "Mei, is it you he is apologizing to?"
Mei, grinning happily, shook her head. "Nope, not me."
Xiang Yu looked back at Fang Aungier. "See, you have to be specific."
Fang Aungier nodded his head frantically. "I am sorry, Han Xin. I won’t bother you again."
Satisfied, Xiang Yu let him go and harshly pushed him to the ground. He stood up, feeling repulsed by the pheromones emanating from Fang Aungier. His head felt dizzy, but he suppressed it. Lian and Mei immediately stood beside him, checking on him.
At that moment, the instructors conveniently showed up. Lieutenant Joel started barking orders at the students, trying to restore order, while Lieutenant Sian looked at Xiang Yu with newfound respect, having seen great potential in him.
Lieutenant Joel’s voice cut through the chaos. "Everyone, stand at attention! Training resumes now!"
Xiang Yu stood in line with Lian and Mei next to him, still feeling the lingering effects of the dizziness from earlier, but he suppressed it. Meanwhile, a disgruntled Fang Aungier glared at him, wiping away the blood from his nose.
Xiang Yu sneered back, his eyes provocative, daring Fang Aungier to attack. Fang Aungier couldn’t bear the humiliation, but he knew that if he persisted, his father would punish him for openly showing disdain for the prince.
Yet, Xiang Yu was making it incredibly hard for him to restrain himself. This humiliation was too much for him. He had already forgotten how many times they had all humiliated Xiang Yu, stepping on his tail to show the Republic how foolish their future king was. Xiang Yu had only beaten him once, and he was already complaining.
Fang Aungier looked away, only to meet Han Xin’s menacing cold gaze, which sent shivers down his spine. Fang Aungier clicked his tongue in frustration. Even the clown’s attendant dared to give him a bad face.
Lieutenant Joel walked between the two lines, yelling at them. "You are seniors about to graduate, yet this is how you behave? How are you standing, huh? Is this the result of six years of education in the Academy? How embarrassing! You zip up your jacket. No one wants to see your hairy chest. What are you, a Chewbacca?"
Some students couldn’t resist stifling a laugh, barely audible, but for an alpha with sharp ears like Lieutenant Joel, he heard it. He turned and yelled, "Who was laughing?"
The students immediately put on serious faces, as if the Lieutenant was imagining things. Lieutenant Joel sneered. "Since you all have each other’s backs, how about you go through the Creature Combat challenge, limit two hours."
The cadets grumbled in pain at the thought of going through such a training session. They would rather do the mech combat simulation. So what was this Creature Combat challenge? They had to face waves of hostile creatures in different environments, with the objective being to defeat at least nine creatures within two hours. The difficulty was adjusted based on the operator’s mental power ranking. This session was gruelling as it tested one’s endurance, adaptability, and combat efficiency.
Lieutenant Joel seemed pleased with their reactions. "I want to see if you will still be smiling then," he said, his voice dripping with satisfaction.
A few minutes later, Xiang Yu stood at the weapons display, his eyes scanning the array of deadly tools. Lian and Mei were beside him, eagerly picking out their weapons. Lian picked up a double-bladed plasma sword, her eyes lighting up. "Ohhh, hello pretty. Want to come home with me?" she cooed.
Xiang Yu laughed, holstering a plasma pistol. "How about I buy one for you on StarNet?"
Lian’s face lit up with joy. "Yes, I would love it!"
Not wanting to be left out, Mei held up a sleek bow. "Master, I like this one."
Xiang Yu nodded approvingly. "It’s very nice. I will get it for you today."
Lian and Mei were so happy you would think the Wu family, the former Marshal’s family, had no access to the best weaponry designs in the entire Republic. They had the money to buy their own and whatever else they liked. They could even ask their grandfather, but who wouldn’t love to be spoiled by their master?
Xiang Yu passed them explosives, rifles, shotguns, and anything else they could carry, like a worried father. He didn’t want them to be caught lacking in the simulation. Mei picked up a red plasma whip and said, "Master, I think you will like this one."
Xiang Yu smiled, thinking of his divine weapon that was probably feeling abandoned right now. "It’s perfect. Let’s go."
The three of them left the inventory after logging the weapons they checked out. As soon as they left, Han Xin emerged from the other side. He had been listening to their conversation. He grabbed a plasma sword and walked out, his thoughts unknown.
AN: I am starting to think Han Xin is getting stalkerish QAQ
In the observation room, Lieutenant Joel was preparing the simulation based on their mental capacity. He selected a range of creatures of varying difficulty and let the AI system arrange it. "Are you sure you want him to do an SSS mission? Won’t it be too much for him to bear?" Lieutenant Joel asked.
