Chapter 241: Eating without pay the bill.

Little Bai rushed over with a glass of water. Han Zhan gratefully accepted it, still coughing. "I... I’m fine," he managed to sputter between coughs, his embarrassment evident.

Han Xin’s voice carried a hint of exasperation as he said, "Why are you so careless?"

Han Zhan raised an eyebrow, retorting, "Careless, really?"

Just then, Lian and Mei said good morning to Han Xin but they froze their eyes wide as they stared at Han Xin’s neck. Mei asked, "Brother, what happened to your neck?"

Lian, her eyes narrowing, added, "It’s so red. Are you allergic to something?"

Mei chimed in, "He must be allergic to nuts or shrimps."

Lian turned her head sharply as if she had heard the most absurd thing. "It’s shrimp, not shrimps."

Mei replied with a stubborn shake of her head, "Nah uh, it’s shrimps. Why are you so silly?"

Lian shot back, "You are silly. It’s shrimp."

The butler, sensing the brewing argument, interjected, "Stop, no fighting. You will be late for school."

Han Xin’s ears turned a shade of red, knowing full well that the marks on his neck were not from an allergic reaction but from the events of the previous night. Han Zhan, unable to resist, quipped, "An allergic reaction indeed, and the allergen is Xiang Yu."

Han Xin smacked him gently upside the head. Little Bai, who had been quietly observing, suddenly understood and lowered his head, internally screaming like a schoolgirl. He had never imagined that Xiang Yu would finally have a serious relationship, let alone with a man.

Mei, still puzzled, asked, "Where is our master? We went to his bedroom just now and it was empty."

Lian added, "Yeah, his bed was already made like he never slept there."

Little Bai, caught off guard, could only manage a silent, "..."

Han Zhan, with a mischievous grin, said, "Ohhhh, I wonder where he could be."

Han Xin smacked him upside the head again, causing Han Zhan to yelp and rub the back of his head. "Ahh Ah-Xin, are you trying to make me stupid?"

"Your master went out this morning. You don’t have to worry about him," Han Xin said, trying to sound nonchalant whole glaring at Han Zhan.

Lian frowned, "That is strange. He promised to take us to school."

Han Xin quickly replied, "Something came up."

Mei was about to ask why Xiang Yu didn’t tell them or message them when the butler intervened, "Okay, it’s time to go. Otherwise, you will be late."

Han Zhan, still rubbing his head, asked, "Aren’t you going to work?"

Han Xin shook his head, "No, I am taking a day off."

Han Zhan’s face lit up, "Great! Then I can stay home with you too."

Han Xin immediately responded, "No!"

Han Zhan, taken aback, could only manage a, "..."

Realising he had been a bit too excitable, Han Xin cleared his throat and said, "Wasn’t Little Bai supposed to give you a tattoo? You can go with him to work today, and after you’re done, you guys can take the twins shopping. Here, take my card. No need to come back early."

Han Zhan, still processing the rapid turn of events, could only manage another, "..."

Han Zhan stood there, puzzled by his cousin’s sudden generosity. "Really?" he asked, his voice tinged with suspicion.

Han Xin nodded, a hint of impatience in his eyes. "Yes, just don’t come back early."

The realisation dawned on Han Zhan. Han Xin wanted to get rid of them so he could spend time with Xiang Yu. Without wasting another second, Han Zhan snatched the card from Han Xin’s hand before he could change his mind. "Let’s go, let’s go, let’s go! You will be late for school," he urged, his voice rising with excitement.

He scooped up Lian and Mei, carrying them outside like sacks of potatoes. The twins squealed in delight, their laughter echoing through the morning air. Han Zhan put them into the car and dashed back inside, grabbing Little Bai and hauling him out as well. Little Bai’s eyes widened in confusion, "???"

Turning back to his cousin, Han Zhan called out, "We won’t be back until 4 pm. Bye!" He gave a quick wave and hurried to the car.

Han Xin watched them leave, a satisfied smile playing on his lips. Han Zhan could be quite useful at times. Butler Qing approached, his expression curious. "Master, will you be working from home today?"

Han Xin nodded, "I will, until Xiang Yu wakes up."

Butler Qing had initially assumed Han Xin was lying when he said Xiang Yu had left already, but hearing Han Xin confirm it so casually was still startling. Han Xin headed back upstairs, the anticipation of a quiet morning with Xiang Yu making his steps lighter. He slipped into the bathroom, the warm water of the shower washing away the remnants of sleep. As he finished, he peeked into the bedroom to see if Xiang Yu was awake but he was still out cold.

Xiang Yu finally stirred from his slumber, rubbing his eyes as he turned around. His hand instinctively reached out to the spot where Han Xin had been sleeping, only to find it cold and empty. He sat up, still a bit dazed, and glanced around the room. His phone was on the bedside table, fully charged. Han Xin must have been thoughtful enough to plug it in for him.

Pulling off the covers, Xiang Yu looked around for his clothes, only to realise they were gone. In their place was a neat pile of fresh clothes on a chair, meticulously prepared. He couldn’t help but smile, thinking that Han Xin would serve him like an emperor if he could.

Deciding to go find him, Xiang Yu slipped into a pair of trunks and jogger pants, not bothering with a shirt. He walked down the stairs, noting the unusual quietness of the house. A quick glance at the clock confirmed it was already late in the morning. It seemed everyone had left.

A pang of annoyance struck him as he considered the possibility that Han Xin might have left him behind. The thought of Han Xin "eating and leaving without paying the bill" made him snort coldly in irritation. As he reached the bottom of the stairs, he spotted Han Xin standing outside on the patio, engaged in conversation with someone.

Han Xin’s face lit up with a happy smile when he saw Xiang Yu, but the smile quickly froze as Xiang Yu’s gaze shifted to the person Han Xin was talking to. The atmosphere grew tense, the morning’s tranquillity shattered by the unexpected guest. His man had woken up early to have a tryst with others.
