Chapter 226: Husband spying in his wife

Xiang Yu left the warehouse earlier than usual today, the sun was still high in the sky, casting a warm glow over the suburb.

His red car pulled up to the curb, and almost immediately, the girls who where waiting at pick up point noticed him. Lian and Mei, came running their faces lit up with excitement. They put their school bags at the trunk of the car and got in.

"Master, Master, look!" Mei shouted, waving a piece of paper in the air as she entered inside the car. "I got an E today in English!"

Xiang Yu turned his head slightly to take a look. His brow furrowing as he took the paper from Mei’s hand. The glaring red ’E’ stood out starkly against the white background. He couldn’t quite tell if this was supposed to be a good thing or a bad thing.

Lian, ever the more straightforward of the two, clarified, "E is as good as a fail."

Xiang Yu’s expression turned blank. "..." He hadn’t expected stellar grades from the twins, but this seemed particularly low. "What about you, Lian? What did you get?"

With a mischievous grin, Lian proudly displayed her own paper. "I got an F, hehe."

Xiang Yu found himself chuckling despite the situation. "Alright, put on your seat belts," he instructed.

"Okay!" the twins choruses as they buckled up. Once they were safely strapped in, Xiang Yu started the car and pulled away from the curb.

"Master, why did you come back early today?" Mei asked, her curiosity piqued.

Xiang Yu glanced at her in the rearview mirror. "What, you prefer that Han Zhan came to pick you up?"

"No," Mei replied quickly. "We thought you were still busy."

"I’m not busy anymore," Xiang Yu said with a smile. "I thought we could go out and have some fun today. And then watch some fireworks later."

The twins’ eyes sparkled with genuine excitement. They already had a plan forming in their minds. "Let’s go watch a movie, then shopping, and then eat outside!" Lian suggested enthusiastically.

"Master, let’s go eat hotpot today," Lian added. "I heard from Brother Bai that it’s delicious."

"And let’s watch a horror movie," Mei chimed in. "I want one that’s really scary."

Xiang Yu readily agreed though he had no idea that horror movies were age-restricted. He knew the twins wouldn’t be afraid of such things, but the challenge would be sneaking them into the theatre. "That sounds fun. Let’s go," he said, driving off towards their adventure-filled afternoon.

Han Zhan walked into his cousin’s office, the familiar scent of leather and polished wood greeting him. The room was dimly lit, the only light coming from the laptop screen on Han Xin’s desk. As Han Zhan stepped inside, he noticed another presence in the room. His eyes widened in shock when he saw who it was.

The man standing by the window was known as the infamous bounty hunter, though his work went far beyond mere bounty hunting. He was the go-to person for obtaining information that was nearly impossible to find. Rumour had it that he could even uncover the last meal of a hundred-year-old corpse. Han Xin rarely called upon this man’s services, so whoever he was looking for must be of great importance.

Han Xin, without looking up from his laptop, said, "Thanks, you may leave."

The man hummed softly in acknowledgement before turning to leave. As he walked past Han Zhan, he paused and said, "Caramel latte from Fluffy Cafe, did their cheesecake sell out already?" He had gone to the Fluffy Cafe to play with the cats, but his cousin hated that each time he came back, he would have fur on him. This weirdo was now snitching on him.

He felt a chill run down his spine. "..." He felt as if he had been seen through completely. "Big brother, were you following me?" he exclaimed.

The man curled his lips into a faint smile and walked away, his movements silent and ghost-like. Han Zhan shivered involuntarily, watching him disappear down the hallway.

He turned to his cousin, trying to shake off the eerie feeling. "Brother, why invite that bad ghost over? He terrifies me half to death."

Han Xin finally looked up from his laptop, his expression serious. "Come look at this."

Han Zhan, sensing the gravity of the situation, stopped joking around and walked over to the desk. On the screen, he saw a familiar face in the corner. It was Xiang Yu’s face. "Did you send the ghost after him?" he asked, his voice low.

Han Xin’s brow was furrowed as he zoomed in on a map showing three warehouses that had been unusually active recently. "He is up to something lately. He is acting dodgy."

Han Zhan was puzzled. He had thought that Xiang Yu and Han Xin were getting along better lately, but it seemed Han Xin still harboured distrust. "Whatever it is that he’s planning, he wouldn’t do anything to harm you. So why are you so worried?"

Han Xin clenched his teeth, his frustration evident. He wanted to believe that, but it was not in his nature to trust easily. Otherwise, he wouldn’t be where he was today.

He knew Xiang Yu had been hiding something from him. He wanted to confront him about it, but he couldn’t do that without evidence.

Han Zhan offered, "Do you want me to check the warehouses out?"

Han Xin shook his head. "No, this is enough."

The two of them fell silent, their eyes fixed on the screen, watching the video feed of people moving things in and out of the warehouses.

Han Zhan leaned against the desk, his eyes fixed on the screen. "Why does he have so many people?" he asked, his voice tinged with curiosity and concern.

Han Xin didn’t respond immediately, his mind racing with the same question. He wanted to know why Xiang Yu had so many people working for him. Was Xiang Yu plotting to take over the triads? The thought gnawed at him.

"Which warehouse did Xiang Yu visit?" Han Zhan pressed.

"All three, on different days," Han Xin replied, his tone thoughtful. "Today, he seemed to have left
