Han Xin and Xiang Yu continued walking one smiling like they had won a million dollars while the other was silent. Naturally, it was easy to tell who was grinning like a fool and who wasn’t.

The sound of water rushing down grew louder with each step, echoing off the damp walls. The exit seemed to be just ahead. Soon they would return to reality and leave this isolated world behind.

As they approached a pile of rocks, Han Xin noticed they were wet and slippery, glistening under the faint light. He entwined his fingers together, offering a boost. "Yu Yu, here, let me give you a lift," he said, his voice steady despite the pain in his broken arm.

Xiang Yu glanced at Han Xin’s injured arm, raising an eyebrow. "Really? You are almost a half-cripple, yet you want to put weight on your arm? Do you really want to lose it completely?" his tone was sharp, but there was a hint of concern in his eyes. How was he supposed to protect the country in the future with no arm?

Han Xin realised his mistake and let out a soft "oh," his ears flushing with embarrassment. He was about to ask if she would manage the climb when Xiang Yu started climbing without warning. "Be careful," he murmured feeling his heart in his throat. He stood right beneath her, ready to catch her if she fell, but his eyes darted away quickly when he caught a glimpse under her skirt, feeling a rush of heat despite knowing she wore pants underneath. If she happened to see him staring, wouldn’t she think he was a pervert?

Xiang Yu was unaware of what this man was thinking. If anything, he wouldn’t think Han Xin was a pervert; he would be worried that the General would faint having seen his glow stick. He reached the top and looked down, noticing Han Xin’s flushed face. "Why is your face so red? Are you in pain?" he asked, genuine worry lacing his words.

Han Xin waved his hand dismissively. "I am fine," he replied, though his heart was pounding hard in his chest that he was so afraid she would hear it.

Xiang Yu lay down and extended his hands. "Come on, I will pull you up."

Han Xin, a seasoned general who had endured far worse pain, could have climbed up without help. But he couldn’t resist the opportunity to hold her hands. He leapt up and grasped her strong, slender hands and felt a surge of admiration for her strength. Despite her skinny frame, she seemed incredibly powerful. He couldn’t help but wonder what she had been through for her to be this strong.

With a firm grip, Xiang Yu pulled up him but as Han Xin reached the top, he lost his balance and fell forward, landing on top of Xiang Yu. His hand propped him up, but he was close enough to see every detail of Yu Yu’s face. For a moment, he froze, dazzled by the proximity. His heart pounded in his chest, and his breath caught in his throat. He found himself staring at her lips, entranced. After years of not being intimate with anyone, he found that after kissing Yu Yu, all he could think about was that. He wanted to take every opportunity to suckle on those tender sweet lips and mark them for the world to see.

"Aren’t you getting up?" Xiang Yu’s voice broke the spell, snapping him out of his trance.

"Sorry," Han Xin mumbled, quickly getting to his feet before stretching his hand to help her up. When they turned their heads, they were met with a breathtaking scene of a curtain of water just a short distance away. It was a majestic fall, its mist filling the air and its thunderous roar of rushing water enveloped them in a sensory delight. Seeing the exit Xiang Yu started walking faster. He couldn’t wait to be back to the surface again.

Well, he was excited but Han Xin wasn’t. He wanted this moment alone with her to last longer, well, minus the danger. Who knows, once they reach the surface, she might not have time for him. Even worse, she might leave, and he would never see her again.

"Yu Yu, wait!" he called out, catching up to her and grabbing her hand. He rubbed the back of her hand with his thumb, his voice soft and earnest. "You won’t leave me after this, right?"

Xiang Yu chuckled, a sly grin spreading across his face as he thought, Who will be leaving whom after the truth comes out is yet to be determined. He stepped closer, his lips quirking into a mischievous smile. Since Han Xin wanted to be with him so badly, why not make a game out of it? Seeing that sly smile and the look in her eyes, Han Xin’s muscles tensed, his instincts screaming at him like he was facing a predator, but he didn’t back down.

Xiang Yu looked up at him, his eyes gleaming. "General, you better reconsider your feelings for me. Because if I accept your feelings and agree to be with you, you won’t be allowed to leave me no matter what. So... think carefully," he said his finger slowly trailing down Han Xin’s chest down to his abdomen. Just when it was reaching a certain place, Han Xin groaned softly while grabbing her hand to stop her from proceeding the veins in his temples pulsing.

A long silence followed his words hanging in the air. Then, Xiang Yu turned to walk away, thinking this should scare him, but he had grossly underestimated how much Han Xin wanted him. The man suddenly grabbed his arm, his grip firm and determined.

"I will never not want you, no matter what happens," Han Xin said, his voice steady. "So, will you be mine?"

This Demon King was taken aback, his eyes widening in surprise. Han Xin must have really lost his mind, he thought. With his dark, piercing eyes, he turned to face him. The cool spray from the waterfall kissed their skin, sending shivers down their spines.

Han Xin stood there, captivated by her intense gaze. Without a word, Xiang Yu took a step forward, closing the distance between them. He reached out, his fingers gently caressing Han Xin’s face, tracing the line of his jaw.
