Chapter 102: Going shopping.
Han Xin pulled the quilt over his head in exasperation. Despite his explanations, his cousin’s expression still seemed to say, "I don’t believe you." Forget it, he thought. He would explain himself with his actions. Sure, he might have dreamt about Peng Xiu but it was because she was circling him like a vulture and she pissed him off more often than anyone else. So of course, he would dream about her. It was a matter-of-fact that people you deal with on a daily basis can influence your mind so it was normal that he would dream about her.AN: Yes, but sir, you never have dreams, so...
The medicine worked quickly, and he fell into a deep, dreamless sleep like usual. His sleep was excellent and when he woke up early morning for training he was in a very good mood. Unfortunately, this good mood didn’t last long.
As he prepared to supervise the small group of soldiers, he noticed Peng Xiu walking into the forest alone. He turned his head away, determined not to look at her anymore. He couldn’t help but wonder why she was up early. What was she up to? When he realised what he was thinking he scolded himself and focused on the people in front of him.
For a moment, he could concentrate, but thirty minutes later, Peng Xiu returned, her semi-dry hair clinging to her back and neck. Her lips were a light pink, and she had changed into the black dress she wore when they first met.
His gaze subconsciously glanced at her flat chest that suited her slender frame. She looked just like she did in his dream. As for the potatoes, he planned on tossing them back into the sack. Which reminds him, he should do it after training. And thus, the procrastination to dispose of the potatoes began.
While his mind was wandering his gaze remained fixed on Peng Xiu. With that much staring, he was inevitably caught by her. She glared at him before doing the most childish thing he had ever seen. She stuck her tongue out playfully and he quickly looked away, his brows creased in frustration. He reprimanded himself for being so stupid. What was there to look at?
When he raised his head to focus on the soldiers swinging their swords, he met Han Zhan’s gaze. It was then he realised his cousin had been watching him the entire time, amusement dancing in his eyes.
"What?" he asked, trying to sound nonchalant.
"Nothing," Han Zhan replied, a smirk playing on his lips.

Xiang Yu took a deep breath, feeling the cool morning air fill his lungs. The sun had just begun to rise, casting a golden hue over the landscape as he prepared the horses. Morning training was over, and the campsite was almost empty, with the exception of the men guarding the place. He especially chose this time to leave because there was no one to stop them.
Lian and Mei were so excited that they even woke up before him. They rushed early morning to the hot spring and took a quick bath before running back and shaking him awake. When they failed to wake him up, they jumped on him their weight almost crushing this poor master. He managed to get up but he was still yawning even now. Well, at least he got to do his favourite thing this morning which was messing with Han Xin. Seeing his reaction when he stuck his tongue out was incredibly funny.
He let out a soft chuckle while stroking the horse he picked. "Master, what are you laughing at?" asked Mei.
"Nothing, are you ready?" he asked before noticing Lian was holding her warm cloak instead of wearing it. "Put it on. It will be chilly while riding." There was always that one kid in a family who would claim they weren’t cold, and when they caught a cold, they would be troublesome to take care of. That was Lian. She grumbled in complaint but still did it.
The three of them mounted their horses and managed to slip away without the general’s permission. He couldn’t care less about his reaction when Han Xin found out that they were gone. In his eyes, he was free to go where he pleased. He was a grown man and didn’t need anyone’s permission to take his twins to town for a fun day.
The journey to Fengmi town was pleasant, the horses trotting steadily along the well-worn path. Lian and Mei shared a horse, their laughter ringing out as they pointed at the passing scenery. Xiang Yu couldn’t help but smile at their joy, feeling a sense of satisfaction at his decision. This was their favourite pastime. They loved going on adventures and trying different foods.
By the time they reached Fengmi town, it was bustling with activity. Merchants called out their merchandise, children ran through the streets, and the aroma of street food filled the air. Xiang Yu asked around for the best inn and was directed to a well-known establishment.
The innkeeper, seeing a wealthy client walk in, was more than happy to accommodate them with pristine rooms. This was one of the reasons Xiang Yu came early. Yi Nuo had told him that they were all coming to Fengmi later in the day to restock and rest for a day. Wanting to book the best rooms for them and get a chance to sleep on something other than uncomfortable carriage seats, he decided to come to town before the others.
While waiting for the rooms to be prepared, he and the twins sat at a table and ordered some tea. Lian’s eyes lit up as she mentioned her craving for roasted duck, and Mei quickly added that she wanted osmanthus cakes. Xiang Yu was more than willing to provide whatever they needed, but he was always mindful of the quality.
He wouldn’t just get them roasted duck and osmanthus cakes but he would get them the best roasted duck and osmanthus cakes in town. He called over the young man who served them and asked him where they could find the best of these dishes.
The young man, clearly taken by the stunning beauty in front of him, discreetly glanced at the innkeeper before leaning in to whisper. "The inn serves those dishes, but they are not worth the price. If you want the best, go to the brothel on the other side of town. They offer premium food at the same price."
Xiang Yu generously tipped the young man under the little miser’s scrutinising gaze. The young man’s eyes brightened at the sight of the coins. He thanked them while quickly hiding them in his sleeve before scurrying away in a hurry.
