Urban Wolf King -
Chapter 52 - 52 52 Wolf Language
52: Chapter 52 Wolf Language 52: Chapter 52 Wolf Language Seeing that the Gray Wolves encircling Beiming Xue and Ouyang Feiting seemed to have long set up a trap, they blocked all routes of escape, leaving the two with no way out.
The dozens of Gray Wolves opened their mouths, revealing sharp fangs, their eyes gleaming coldly as they stepped closer to Beiming Xue and Ouyang Feiting.
Beiming Xue was already terrified, and although Ouyang Feiting was feisty, she was also out of ideas at this moment.
The two stood back to back, looking at the pack of wolves around them, their faces ashen, their legs weak, barely holding each other up instead of collapsing to the ground.
“It’s over, it’s over, I, Ouyang Feiting, never expected to be bitten to death by wolves,” sighed Ouyang Feiting.
“It’s all your fault; now Brother Wang Yan can’t find us,” Beiming Xue started crying.
At the mention of Wang Yan, both of their hearts trembled.
“That’s right, if Brother Wang Yan comes, maybe he can save us.”
Both had the same thought and shouted simultaneously, “Brother Wang Yan, Brother Wang Yan!”
Their shouts echoed far into the vast mountains, causing the surrounding peaks to hum in response.
However, no matter how they shouted, there was no reply, just the echoes of the mountains.
It seemed that the shouting angered the pack of wolves.
The largest Gray Wolf let out an angry howl, opening its mouth to reveal sharp glistening fangs, growling deeply from its throat.
As if following an order, three of the Gray Wolves hunched and leapt towards Ouyang Feiting and Beiming Xue.
Ouyang Feiting gritted her teeth and said, “Beiming Xue, I’ll hold back these wolves, you escape.
If you see Brother Wang Yan, tell him that I, Ouyang Feiting, like him.”
Beiming Xue, still fearful, immediately shouted, “No, I won’t escape, we’ll both escape together.”
At this moment, the three Gray Wolves were already pouncing, and Ouyang Feiting, with a roar, charged at the Gray Wolves.
Though Beiming Xue was scared, seeing Ouyang Feiting’s bravery, she felt emboldened, thinking that if she were to die, she’d die as boldly as Brother Wang Yan.
With that thought, a surge of courage came over Beiming Xue.
She picked up a stone from the ground and, with her eyes closed, threw it.
But Beiming Xue’s aim was terrible.
She intended to hit the Gray Wolf in front, but the stone flew too high and struck the lead Gray Wolf instead.
The stone was small, rolling off the alpha wolf’s body, leaving only a small gray mark on its fur.
But the alpha wolf, known for its authority among the pack, was angered by Beiming Xue’s hit.
Suddenly, a series of deep growls echoed from the alpha wolf’s throat.
Hearing the growls, the three pouncing Gray Wolves halted, and in chorus, dozens of Gray Wolves started to roar, stepping forward towards Beiming Xue and Ouyang Feiting.
They looked as if they were about to attack together, tearing Ouyang Feiting and Beiming Xue apart.
“Beiming Xue, what have you done?” With three wolves pouncing, Ouyang Feiting struggled, but now with dozens advancing, they faced certain death.
Beiming Xue was startled and hurriedly pleaded to the alpha wolf, “I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean it.”
Seeing Beiming Xue apologizing to the alpha wolf, Ouyang Feiting bitterly smiled, “Apologizing, can it understand you?
Well, it seems we’ll never see Brother Wang Yan again.
Beiming Xue, after all these years of fighting, who’d think we’d die together.”
Beiming Xue, looking gloomy, said, “Ouyang Feiting, it’s actually my fault.
If I hadn’t let you meet Brother Wang Yan back then, you wouldn’t be dying today.”
Ouyang Feiting shook her head and smiled instead, saying, “Even if I die, I don’t regret meeting Brother Wang Yan.”
With the Gray Wolves drawing nearer, Ouyang Feiting and Beiming Xue held hands and closed their eyes.
“Goodbye, Brother Wang Yan!”
As soon as the two closed their eyes, they sensed a shadow coming over them, blocking their view.
“Oh, we’re going to die!”
They both thought simultaneously, preparing for the wolves’ attack.
But after a long time, they felt no pain.
Slowly, they opened their eyes a crack and glanced around.
No Gray Wolves stood before them, only a person.
The person was smiling at them.
The smile was incredibly familiar, and both opened their eyes wide, excitement showing on their faces as they shouted together, “Brother Wang Yan.”
The person, with a clean, angular face and deep black eyes, was indeed Wang Yan.
Somehow, Wang Yan had appeared before them.
Ouyang Feiting and Beiming Xue glanced around, seeing the pack of wolves still standing, encircling the three.
Upon this sight, Ouyang Feiting quickly said, “Brother Wang Yan, run.”
Beiming Xue also pushed Wang Yan, saying, “It’s too dangerous, leave us behind.”
However, Wang Yan stood calmly, smiling, “There’s no danger here.
Why would I need to run?”
Beiming Xue pointed at the pack of wolves, “Them, them, Brother Wang Yan, didn’t you see these wolves?”
Wang Yan looked around and replied, “I see them; they’re just wolf cubs.”
Ouyang Feiting hurriedly said, “They aren’t cubs; they’re real wolves that can eat us.”
Wang Yan chuckled, “To me, they’re like wolf cubs.
When I first knew them, they were newly born.”
Hearing Wang Yan’s words, Ouyang Feiting and Beiming Xue were both puzzled, not understanding what Wang Yan meant.
In truth, they had no idea that Wang Yan had lived in these mountains for eighteen years, while these adult Gray Wolves were only seven or eight years old.
So, it’s true that Wang Yan watched them grow, making them seem like wolf cubs to him.
Wang Yan beckoned to the alpha wolf, “Come here.”
The alpha wolf, fierce just moments ago, happily leapt over like a dog to Wang Yan upon being called.
Seeing the alpha wolf approach, Beiming Xue and Ouyang Feiting quickly retreated, scared.
But after taking just a few steps back, they stopped, dumbfounded.
Because they saw Wang Yan petting the alpha wolf’s head, and the wolf actually closed its eyes in comfort.
Moreover, the remaining wolves gathered around, seemingly queuing for Wang Yan’s touch.
Wang Yan gestured towards Beiming Xue and Ouyang Feiting, telling the pack, “These two are friends.
From now on, don’t bully them, understood?”
Seeing this, Beiming Xue and Ouyang Feiting were already dumbstruck, blankly staring at Wang Yan, wondering if the wolves could understand him.
But in the next moment, Beiming Xue and Ouyang Feiting were stunned.
The pack of wolves looked at Beiming Xue and Ouyang Feiting, nodded in unison, and the coldness in their eyes disappeared, replaced by gentle and kind glints.
“The wolves can actually understand Brother Wang Yan!”
Beiming Xue and Ouyang Feiting widened their eyes, hardly believing what they were witnessing.
