But this quiet moment was disrupted by the sound of a key turning in the lock, jolting them both awake!

Thank god she was back, else they were ready to report her disappearance to the police.

"Right, why is your face so red? Is it because you drank too much?" Tang Xinling asked with concern.

Yuan Xuejiao nodded. While her blush was due to Ren Feifan, she obviously couldn’t reveal that, so instead she used drinking as a convenient excuse.

"Oh, you. What are you doing drinking on your own? What if you encounter some bad characters? Society is rather dangerous today. I saw on the news this guy who just spends his time hunting drunken women in bars..." Lin Shuang warned.

After chatting for a little while, Yuan Xuejiao finally managed to calm them down.

Anxiously, she glanced towards the bathroom where Ren Feifan was hiding. She had to hurry and get her roommates distracted.

An idea formed in Yuan Xuejiao’s mind, and she proposed to her roommates, "Why don’t we go outside and get some late night snacks? It would help settle my nerves. What do you think?"

"No way, I’m dieting. I don’t eat late at night. You guys go ahead without me." Tang Xinling replied.

Having spoken, Tang Xinling made her way towards the bathroom.

Yuan Xuejiao quickly positioned herself in front of Tang Xinling and stammered, "Xinling, where are you going?"

Tang Xinling paused, slightly confused by Yuan Xuejiao’s seemingly strange behavior. She didn’t dwell on it, though, and simply answered, "I’m obviously going to wash my hands. What’s up with you?"

"Oh, nothing, I was just asking because I also need to wash my hands."

"Oh."

The two went into the bathroom. The sound of the water running could be heard as they washed their hands. After Tang Xinling finished up, she left.

That allowed Yuan Xuejiao to breathe a sigh of relief. Clearly, Tang Xinling didn’t notice that the toilet door was closed.

If she didn’t notice, then that’s a relief.

Yuan Xuejiao closed the bathroom door and whispered to Ren Feifan, "Wait for a bit. I need to figure out how to get them to leave."

Ren Feifan didn’t respond. He was already hiding in his secret space.

Yuan Xuejiao left and proposed another idea to her roommates, "How about we go for a jog? We jog every day, don’t we? Lin Shuang, you’re always saying you want to exercise. Why not now?"

Lin Shuang felt her forehead and found that she didn’t have a fever. Then she said with a complaint,

"What’s wrong with you, Xuejiao? It’s past nine, we can’t just go out jogging now. It’s too late."

She deliberately made her voice as loud as possible.
