Chapter 312: Chapter 309: I Can Cure Cancer! (Fourth Update! Seeking Recommendations!)"_1

"Mountain Sticking!"

This move, Ren Feifan was familiar with it more than anything, because it was his ruthless move back in Purgatory!

He never expected that Man Zi also knew it.

It seemed that Man Zi was taught fighting skills by a grandmaster of Bajiquan!

Ren Feifan wouldn’t dare to use the same Mountain Sticking against Man Zi. If a Body Refinement practitioner performed this move, its power could increase dozens of times!

So, Ren Feifan had to quickly retreat to a safe area, he squatted slightly, his momentum soared like a sharp blade! The next second, he exploded!

"Tiance Palm!"

A palm shadow came whistling, extremely fast!

In a blink of an eye, it had landed on Man Zi!

Man Zi’s eyes stalled, unable to react and instantly knocked off and flew out!

He heavily hit the ground!

Did he actually lose?

Man Zi was somewhat in a daze, finding it hard to believe. In all these years of fighting, he had never lost.

Even if it were a tiger, he could fend it off!

But now he had lost to Brother Ren!

The next second, he saw a hand in front of him.

Ren Feifan smiled, reached out to him, and said: "Get up, are you hurt?"

Man Zi gripped Ren Feifan’s hand, slightly pulling himself up, he exclaimed in surprise: "Brother Ren, your palm technique is amazing! Man Zi concedes!"

"It’s just that I have more experience than you. If I really faced you head-on, I reckon I wouldn’t survive more than three moves!"

"Brother Ren, you’re too modest. I, Man Zi, am not that strong."

"No, you are very strong! You do not know your own potential." Ren Feifan affirmed.

Goodness, he actually encountered such a rare species as a Body Refinement practitioner as well!

The key point is also when the other party is not fully moulded yet.

Just as Man Zi was about to speak, his stomach embarrassingly grumbled.

His face turned a bit embarrassed, and he said awkwardly: "Brother Ren, I am going to see my mother first. Please leave your phone number, so I can pay you back next time!"

Ren Feifan could see that Man Zi seemed to have not eaten for a long time, and he felt pity for him. He casually said: "It’s mealtime anyway, accompany me to have a meal, it’s too boring to eat alone."

As soon as Man Zi heard about food, his eyes lit up, but after glancing at the money in his hand, he still said: "Brother Ren, forget it, I just ate, I’m still full."

"Quit fussing, follow me!"

Ren Feifan took Man Zi to a restaurant and ordered more than a dozen dishes.

At first, Man Zi was a bit reserved, eating quite politely, but later, he simply started eating mouthfuls of rice.

All the people in the restaurant looked at Man Zi eating as if they were seeing a ghost!

A bucket of rice was almost finished by Man Zi alone.

Ren Feifan swallowed his saliva, and asked: "Man Zi, how long have you not eaten?"

Man Zi grabbed a chicken leg, wiped it clean in one go, leaving only a bone. He chewed a few times, and replied: "Brother Ren, I haven’t eaten for two days since I came to Jiangnan province. Normally at home, a face basin of rice is enough for a day. Today I am really hungry, sorry."

After speaking, Man Zi waved to the boss and said, "Boss, bring another bucket of rice!"

The corner of the boss’s mouth twitched, almost fainting on the spot.

If all the customers were like this, how could he still do business!

Could this guy digest all this food?

Seeing the boss hesitating, Ren Feifan took out a thousand yuan and pressed it on the table: "Keep bringing the dishes, let him eat enough."

When the boss saw the money, his eyes brightened, and he vigorously nodded: "Yes, yes, yes."

It took nearly an hour for Ren Feifan to finish his meal, and during that time, he had come to understand the man known as Man Zi.

Man Zi was born in a remote village. His family had always been farmers. He had his parents and a younger sister.

The family of four experienced severe poverty due to Man Zi’s enormous appetite. However, thanks to his impressive height and strength which allowed him to work effectively, they could still manage to get by. Until a few days ago, his mother passed out in their field. Man Zi carried her to the local hospital, where she was diagnosed with stomach cancer.

The news was devastating to the family.

The local hospital had no treatment to offer, so his mother was sent to the Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital in the Jiangnan Province.

However, upon seeing the astronomical cost of treatment, which was thousands a day, Man Zi was helplessly overwhelmed.

Man Zi had only completed elementary school and was not very literate. His only advantage was that he was resilient and strong. He always wanted to be a security guard, but when they found out the level of his education, he was rejected outright. Left without alternative, he had no choice but to wrestle in the square for money.

"No matter what, even if I have to sell my blood, I will save my mother!"

With a pained expression on his face, tears began to fall from this grown man’s eyes. The sight deeply moved Ren Feifan.

Ren Feifan patted Man Zi’s shoulder comfortingly, "Don’t worry, if you trust me, take me to the hospital. I can cure your mother’s disease!"

Man Zi’s eyes widened as he stared at Ren Feifan, trying to discern if he was joking.

But he found Ren Feifan looking back at him solemnly.

This disease was terminal! Many in the village who had been diagnosed with cancer were helpless and could do nothing but await their end. Could this man really cure it?

Was this some sort of sick joke?

Man Zi grabbed Ren Feifan’s hand. His tears fell like heavy beads, "Brother Ren, are you saying you can cure cancer? The doctor said it had spread in my mother, can you truly cure cancer?"

Man Zi seemed desperate, like a man clutching at his last straw, and his voice echoed loudly around the room, attracting the attention of everybody who was dining.

The crowd snickered and pointed, their faces full of mockery.

"A couple of idiots, who would believe that nonsense about curing cancer?"

"Don’t you see? That nitwit looks so stupid, probably has no brains at all."

"Not even modern medicine can conquer cancer. And now someone’s claiming to cure it?"

"Keep it down, don’t let those two hear you. They could be part of some illegal brainwashing organization. It’s dangerous, let’s finish eating and leave quickly."

Within moments, many of the diners started asking for the bill.

Ren Feifan remained unperturbed by the ridicule around him and turned to Man Zi, "Since we are full, let’s go to the hospital. I will help cure your mother."

Man Zi had great faith in Ren Feifan, even though he didn’t really understand why Ren Feifan was willing to help him.

He knew he had nothing to offer, no potential or value. He was not worth anyone’s manipulation.

Although he might have been naive, he was not stupid. He could see that Brother Ren’s intention to help was genuine.

Regardless, he appreciated this act of kindness!

The two of them took a taxi to the hospital in Jiangnan Province and darted straight into the ward where Man Zi’s mother was.

After a few minutes, Ren Feifan laid his eyes on Man Zi’s mother in one of the wards.

He was a bit startled when he saw her. She was so thin and delicate; he couldn’t understand how such a frail woman could have given birth to a son like Man Zi?

Genetic mutation?

Mutated into a body refinement practitioner?

That can’t be right!

Man Zi’s mother clearly heard the commotion. She opened her eyes and saw Man Zi. She became somewhat excited and tried to pull off her IV tube, but was stopped by Man Zi.

"Mother, what are you doing?"

Her eyes glistened with tears of self-reproach, "Man Zi, sweetie, listen to your mother. Let’s not treat the illness here. Let’s go home! We can’t afford this hospital!"

She was painfully aware that with their current financial situation, they could not possibly afford the treatment at this hospital. Moreover, considering their village’s remote location, they didn’t really see the need to have health insurance. The medical expenses were entirely their burden to bear, who could afford that!

No matter what, they had to leave today!

They could not afford this.

(There will be another update later! The fifth one! Ah, don’t complain about it being slow. For a solo writer like me, my pace is already very reasonable. I sleep only four hours a day just to provide updates for everyone. Five updates a day — I’ve been consistent for so many days already.)
