Chapter 1339: Chapter 1336: Forcing Me to Embark on a Massacre!
Ren Feifan knew deep down that his face was unlikely to be recognized by the people of Spirit Sword Palace, but what if the Lei Family had spies among this group of gatekeepers?
So, he had to be extra cautious.
He took an elixir from his mysterious space, known as the Appearance Changing Pill, which could simply alter one’s appearance, and, after the change, even the high masters of the Wanxiang Realm would not notice.
He swallowed it directly, and the fragrance of the medicine overflowed.
Almost instantly, the muscles on his face surged and gradually changed, eventually transforming him into someone else.
Then he took out a black robe and draped it over himself.
After doing all this, he strolled out from behind the boulder and headed straight for the entrance of Hidden Gate.
The two armored youths standing on both sides of the entrance naturally noticed Ren Feifan approaching from afar.
"This kid is actually in the True Path Realm?"
One of the gatekeepers looked at Ren Feifan strangely, for he could not detect any aura of Hidden Gate from him.
Could it be from the secular world?
The secular world did have high masters of the True Path Realm, but they were not many, and moreover, Ren Feifan was so young, which made it somewhat strange.
Just as Ren Feifan was about to enter the Hidden Gate, two gatekeepers drew their longswords, directly blocking Ren Feifan’s way.
"Kid, are you going to Hidden Gate?"
Adopting an attitude to avoid trouble, Ren Feifan took out a few packs of Spirit Stones and weighed them, nodding his head and said, "Of course I am going to Hidden Gate. Otherwise, why would I come here for a stroll? I’m not that bold yet."
After saying that, he tossed his arm slightly, and the Spirit Stones landed in the palm of one of the gatekeepers.
For Ren Feifan, if a few Spirit Stones could save him a lot of trouble, it was quite worthwhile.
The armored youth among the gatekeepers weighed the items in his hand — not light at all, interesting.
His usually stern expression finally showed a trace of satisfaction. He nodded and waved his hand, "Good lad, knows the bigger picture, I like that. Go on, get in quickly! Don’t waste our time, and remember, there have been some events at Hidden Gate recently. After entering, make sure not to run around and properly return to your sect."
The gatekeeper knew that it was the time when the Outer Hidden Sects were taking in disciples, and considering Ren Feifan was so young, he suspected the other party was there to sign up.
"Okay."
Ren Feifan had not expected the journey to be so easy, but just after taking a few steps, another gatekeeper suddenly said, "Wait!"
After speaking, he came in front of Ren Feifan and took out three portraits, unfolding them one by one.
The first one was a portrait of the Dragon Lady, the second of an old man, and the third, indeed Ren Feifan himself.
The depiction of Ren Feifan, with a Black Sword on his back, was truly lifelike.
Ren Feifan couldn’t help but silently congratulate himself on his foresight; it seemed the Lei Family had long since taken care of these entrances.
If he had shown up in his true form, he would surely have been detected, and then if the other side reported it to headquarters, there would be trouble.
After looking around Ren Feifan and not noticing anything unusual, the gatekeeper put away the portraits and then said, "Please show your identity token!"
Ren Feifan’s heart skipped a beat; he did not have an identity token from Hidden Gate, but he managed to say with a calm facade, "I’m really sorry, the two of you, I left in such a hurry this time that I didn’t bring a token. Look, can you two make an exception?"
Ren Feifan took out another bag of Spirit Stones, this time even more generous.
The other gatekeeper’s eyes lit up with the sight of money and was just about to reach out to take them.
With a smack, the gatekeeper who had asked the question directly slapped the Spirit Stones from Ren Feifan’s hand onto the ground and then said coldly, "During a special period, no one is allowed to enter without an identity token. So, you should go back."
Ren Feifan’s eyes sharpened, and a glimmer of a killing intent surfaced as he glanced at the Spirit Stones on the ground.
He had wanted to avoid some trouble, but now, these people were forcing his hand!
Although these people’s realms were strong, if Ren Feifan had wanted to kill them, it would be a matter of minutes!
The two gatekeepers, of course, perceived Ren Feifan’s murderous intent and snorted coldly as a sharp whooshing sound emerged instantly!
A longsword came slashing across, aiming directly at Ren Feifan’s body!
"A mere mortal dares to harbor killing intent against us, seeking death!"
At this moment, the two gatekeepers looked down upon Ren Feifan with disdain gleaming in their eyes.
In their view, mortals were nothing but trash!
Such trash might have reached the pinnacle in the mortal world, but this sense of superiority had no place within the Hidden Gate!
Just as the longsword was about to strike Ren Feifan, he moved. The dragon tattoo on his arm came to life, then he reached out with his right hand and violently grasped it!
He caught the cold, gleaming longsword in his grip!
Then there was a "crack!"—a fearsome power swept out, and the longsword actually broke apart.
Immediately after, Ren Feifan, holding the broken sword, lunged straight towards the man!
"Boom!" The fractured sword pierced directly into the gatekeeper’s chest, and blood gushed out in torrents.
The injured gatekeeper, trembling, pointed at Ren Feifan and said, "You actually dare to kill our guard..."
Before he could finish, the man fell into complete silence.
His eyes were wide; even in his last breath, he couldn’t comprehend how a mortal could dare to challenge them!
They had to understand that the gatekeepers were the representation of the entire Hidden Gate!
Historically, aside from a mysterious man who did this several hundred years ago, there had been no one else who’d dared to do so.
That mysterious man even claimed to come from Saint Doctor’s Gate, born for revenge!
And now this youngster, who was he?
Ren Feifan didn’t care about the deceased gatekeeper but his gaze fell upon the other. The next second, he drew out a black greatsword and aimed straight for the gatekeeper’s vital spots!
The remaining gatekeeper’s complexion changed drastically, unable to believe that a common mortal could be so arrogant.
He subconsciously tried to reach for a device similar to a walkie-talkie, intending to report the situation to headquarters.
But just as his fingers touched the device, a black Sword Intent slashed through!
"Shua!"
His arm fell to the ground!
With True Qi surging in his other hand, he was about to deliver a sword strike when an ice-cold voice rang in his ears.
"It’s not that I’m calling you trash, but your swordsmanship is really too slow."
"Puh!"
An all-black longsword pierced into the gatekeeper’s chest and then nailed him against the Spirit Gate! The entire Spirit Gate was now stained with streaks of blood, a ghastly sight.
The gatekeeper did not die immediately. Instead, he stared furiously at Ren Feifan, "Why do you want to kill the gatekeepers of the Hidden Gate? Do you realize you’re declaring war against the entire Hidden Gate? It’s impossible for you to walk out of here alive."
Ren Feifan just smiled, bent down, and picked up a portrait from the ground. With a flick of his arm, he spread out the portrait.
Depicted in the portrait was a young man with a black greatsword on his back, a faint smile gracing his lips, exuding confidence and mystery.
Suddenly, the gatekeeper nailed to the gate’s eyes bulged, for he realized the sword and the smile in the portrait were identical to the young man before him!
Finally, it dawned on him!
"You’re actually that Ren..."
