Chapter 184: Chapter 184: Tang Ying_1
"Nie Kuangtu?"
Mo Han’s eyes narrowed, and he suddenly remembered Nie Bao and Nie She whom he had dealt with last time. He glanced at Tang Guowei and started to speak, "Old master, you’ve transferred all the Hidden Guards over there, what about yourself?"
Tang Guowei clapped his hands in fear, and suddenly, two shadows, one white and one black, flashed out from behind him.
He pointed at the elder in the white robe and said, "This is Old Bai, whom you’ve met before at Tang Garden. He is a peak postnatal Martial Artist."
The elder in the white robe smiled slightly and clasped his hands in greeting, "Young Brother Mo, long time no see."
"Good to see you, Old Bai!" Mo Han returned the greeting with clasped hands, remembering that this elder in the white robe was named Bai Yunhe, whom he indeed had met before at Tang Garden.
"This is Tang Ying, my adopted son and personal bodyguard, who is a Grandmaster Martial Artist," Tang Guowei stroked his beard, pointing to the other person and said, "If Tang Ying hadn’t been out on a mission last time, even if Nie Kuangtu came, I wouldn’t have been afraid."
These words of Tang Guowei weren’t just boasting—Tang Ying, now thirty-two years old with the mastery of Tongbei Quan at a Grandmaster level. Last time, if he had not been on an outside mission, Nie Hu wouldn’t have been able to get close at all.
"Tang Ying has seen Mister Mo!"
The man who spoke was over one meter ninety in height, his muscles bulging, clearly a product of external martial arts pushed to their limit.
He held his hands in a clasp and inclined slightly, saying, "Thank you, Mister Mo, for saving my adoptive father. I, Tang Ying, owe you a favor!"
"You are too polite, Mister Tang," Mo Han returned the greeting with clasped hands, smiling, "I merely helped stop Old Tang’s bleeding, while the actual treatment was provided by Director Lin of Renkang Hospital."
"If anyone should be thanked, it should be him."
"I have already thanked Director Lin," Tang Ying raised his head, pride gleaming in his eyes, "No more words needed. When I say I owe you a favor, I owe you one!"
Mo Han smiled helplessly. This Tang Ying really was headstrong.
He glanced at Zhou Residence and noticed that there was a sentry post every ten meters, the defense incredibly tight.
Perhaps sensing the surprise in Mo Han’s eyes, Tang Guowei said proudly, "Back in the day, Zhou Zhishan suffered at the hands of a group of thieves, so now the Zhou Family’s defense is extremely strict. There are probably over two hundred guards alone."
With that, he rolled up his sleeve and said, "Alright, enough about that old fellow. Since you’re here, take my pulse for me. Recently, my throat has been uncomfortable, and I keep coughing. Every cough brings a sharp pain in my chest."
"Alright."
Mo Han nodded, placed his hand on Tang Guowei’s wrist, and after listening quietly for over twenty seconds began to speak, "Judging from the pulse, there is nothing majorly wrong with Old Tang. The throat discomfort is likely due to negligence in recent diet, and coughing has irritated the wound."
"Old Tang, you’ve just recovered from a serious injury; you must avoid spicy food and drink less alcohol."
"You’ve hit the nail on the head; these past few days I’ve been craving some Sichuan dishes, and I drank a little wine..." Tang Guowei said with a laugh, "When you have time, how about you join this old wreck for a drink, so we can chat?"
Mo Han smiled gently, "Having drinks is certainly not a problem, but we should wait until your health is a bit better, at least a month from now."
"A month?" Tang Guowei’s eyebrows rose, "That long?"
"Old Tang, a month is already quite short; you had three knives in your chest and nearly lost your life," Mo Han chided with a glance.
Then, Zhou Xintong smiled and said, "Grandpa Tang, let’s hurry inside, my grandpa is still waiting."
"Right, right, right! I almost forgot about this," Tang Guowei said with a slap to his forehead, laughing, "Brother Mo, let’s go. I have to treat the old mudfish. With you here, that old fellow can’t die."
Old mudfish was Tang Guowei’s nickname for Zhou Zhishan. That old man was too slippery, just like a mudfish, so Tang Guowei gave him that name.
Following Zhou Xintong, the group passed through three corridors before entering the inner courtyard at the end.
Outside the inner courtyard was a titanium steel gate. Zhou Xintong used fingerprint and iris recognition to allow them safe entry.
As soon as they entered the inner courtyard, Mo Han saw about a dozen men in black outfits sitting in the courtyard whispering among themselves. Among them, a man with a hooked nose and another with long hair and sunglasses occasionally glanced their way.
Intuition told Mo Han that these two men were not simple.
"These people are the distinguished guests who came to visit Grandpa a while ago. They are quite skilled at martial arts, and there are two I cannot beat," Zhou Xintong said while walking, "Grandpa seems to trust them a lot. He replaced all the caretakers in the inner courtyard with just them."
Mo Han nodded, his look becoming more wary. He could tell that these dozen or so men in black were all extraordinary.
Especially that man with the hooked nose and the long-haired man, they had an aura of killing intent!
Even though they were constantly trying to hide it, some things cannot be easily concealed when one wishes to.
"You don’t know the origins of these people either?" Mo Han asked, "If they intended to harm Old Zhou..."
"They won’t," Zhou Xintong replied, "Grandpa said they are descendants of old acquaintances and wouldn’t harm him."
"As for their origins, I really don’t know much. Grandpa didn’t say, and he seems unwilling to talk about it."
"These people are considered second-rate experts," Tang Ying appeared at this point, commenting lightly, "With them around, ordinary people can’t get close to Old Zhou!"
As they spoke, they had already arrived at the inner courtyard house. As they entered the room, Mo Han saw five or six foreigners clad in white coats standing around a bed, fiddling with some machines, apparently preparing to examine an old man on the bed.
"Xintong, who are these people? Didn’t you see that Doctor Tony is about to examine Grandpa?"
Suddenly, a voice came from inside, and a man dressed in a Versace suit with a distinct British style walked over.
"Cousin William, let me introduce you," Zhou Xintong said with a slight smile, "This is Old Tang, whom Grandpa asked me to invite over for a chat."
"And this is Mister Mo; don’t judge him by his young appearance—his medical skills are incredibly profound. Even Old Tang..."
"Ah, it’s Old Tang, such an honor to finally meet you!" Upon hearing it was Old Tang, the British-styled man quickly walked forward, excitedly shaking both of Tang Guowei’s hands, "I’m Zhou William, the eldest grandson of the Zhou family. A pleasure to meet you, Old Tang."
As for Mo Han, he barely warranted a glance.
This guy was in his twenties, about the same age as himself, so what medical expertise could he have?
