Unveil Her Secret Identities

Chapter 474: 474Lu Qingyi: Accompany me to the past_1

Lu Jiahao had assumed that his parents, Lu Yao and Yao Meishu, would reach out to him. Yet to his surprise, no contact came even after waiting for a long time.

They hadn’t given him a single call or even a text message, didn’t tell him they were visiting Kyoto, this made Lu Jiahao feel as if he had no reason to look for them.

He was just someone who had been left in the dark.

"What do you mean?"

Lu Jiayue, on the other end of the phone, was apparently taken aback. She asked uncertainly.

She also only found out a couple of days ago that Lu Yao and Yao Meishu had come to Kyoto. They had visited her at Beijing University and brought her many gifts.

She didn’t quite grasp what Lu Jiahao was implying with his words.

Lu Jiahao: "Just as I said."

"How is that possible, you’ve been spending too much time with Lu Qingyi, haven’t you? She’s cold-hearted and it’s affecting you!"

Lu Jiayue challenged him. Her tone was quite bad.

Lu Jiahao’s proclivity for defending Lu Qingyi was well-known to her and it sometimes seemed that Lu Jiahao cared more for his sister-in-law than his actual sister.

"I’m hanging up."

With nothing more to say, Lu Jiahao coldly ended the call.

Lu Jiayue...

At times, he found her incomprehensible. They seemed to be on different wavelengths.

——

Uncle Wen gawked as he saw Xu Boyan and Lu Qingyi, he hadn’t expected Lu Qingyi to bring company.

She had brought her boyfriend.

Xu Boyan.

A man Uncle Wen was all too familiar with. Xu Boyan was the man that most women in Kyoto desired. A man with great abilities who led the Xu Group and several other enterprises to constantly rank at the top, unchallenged.

Kyoto’s most distinguished gentleman.

"Miss Lu..."

As Uncle Wen led the way, he kept casting surreptitious glances at Lu Qingyi, appearing as though he wanted to say something but hesitated.

He was genuinely torn.

"Go ahead and say it."

Lu Qingyi responded with her typically aloof expression.

"The way you’re behaving... Young master will be unhappy..."

Glancing at Xu Boyan, Uncle Wen then retracted his gaze. He hesitated before speaking, a troubled expression on his face.

Wen Linyu had always been fond of Lu Qingyi and his unrequited feelings left him in pain. Now that Lu Qingyi appeared with Xu Boyan, Uncle Wen was worried that Wen Linyu would...

He was greatly concerned.

"And why would his unhappiness have anything to do with me?"

Lu Qingyi raised her eyebrows, her demeanor especially aloof. The words she spoke were devoid of any warmth.

About Wen Linyu’s feelings, she couldn’t care less. Whether he was happy or distraught, it had nothing to do with her. She wasn’t obliged to cater to Wen Linyu’s emotions.

After all, there was no relationship between them.

Uncle Wen swallowed his words, he resumed leading the way in silence.

Indeed, why should Wen Linyu’s discontent have anything to do with Lu Qingyi? She clearly didn’t care about Wen Linyu’s feelings, any interpretation to the contrary was just Wen Linyu deceiving himself.

Lu Qingyi’s words pleased Xu Boyan, a gentle smile playing on his lips.

The night were slightly chilly, so Xu Boyan removed his jacket and draped it over Lu Qingyi’s shoulders, his hand steadying her shoulder.

Lu Qingyi looked back and offered Xu Boyan a smile.

Both subtle movements were caught by Uncle Wen, he sighed heavily, feeling sorry for Wen Linyu.

He had spent considerable time understanding Lu Qingyi on behalf of Wen Linyu, and knew that while her exterior was frosty, her heart was warm.

Despite her icy demeanor and distance from those around her, she was fiercely protective of those she cared about, and would treat them with unconditional kindness.

As an experienced man, he could see that there was genuine affection between Lu Qingyi and Xu Boyan. Both deeply loved each other and cherished the other in their eyes. There was no room for any third party within their bond.

As for Wen Linyu, there was no chance.

"Young miss, why don’t I just wait for you here?"

As they approached, Xu Boyan suddenly stopped. He ruffled Lu Qingyi’s hair, suggesting he remain behind.

Although he wanted to accompany her, Xu Boyan decided to give Lu Qingyi some space.

He trusted Lu Qingyi and also believed in his own charm.

"Accompany me."

Lu Qingyi understood Xu Boyan’s thoughts. She gave a small smile, then tightened her hold on Xu Boyan’s hand.

Xu Boyan responded with a charmful grin. He returned her grip. His large hand covering her smaller one, their interwined hands exuded warmth.

"Alright."

Xu Boyan gave a nod, a doting smile on his face.

"Yiyi, you’ve arrived?"

Like before, Wen Linyu sat in his wheelchair with his back turned to Lu Qingyi, leisurely fishing with a rod in his hands.

Lu Qingyi’s gaze was cold. She stopped and didn’t respond to Wen Linyu’s words.

Xu Boyan’s gaze was colder; he did not like the way Wen Linyu addressed Lu Qingyi.

"Young master..."

"Uncle Wen, you can attend to your own affairs."

Just as Uncle Wen was about to remind Wen Linyu, Wen Linyu interrupted him.

Uncle Wen could only sigh, then wordlessly left. He figured it’d be better if those involved sort out their issues themselves.

"Why did you..."

Wen Linyu removed his sunglasses, turned back, and upon seeing Xu Boyan and Lu Qingyi together, he stopped mid-sentence.

He was at loss for words. His only feeling was a blockage in his heart.

Lu Qingyi had actually brought this man to him. Wen Linyu felt as though he was suffocating.

"What seems to be the problem?"

Lu Qingyi broke the silence, her tone cold.

Lu Jiahao was still waiting in the car, so she wanted this meeting to be brief.

"Here."

Wen Linyu gestured to his heart, his voice barely more than a whisper.

"I don’t deal with heart diseases."

Lu Qingyi understood what Wen Linyu implied, she responded coldly and emotionlessly.

Xu Boyan, who stood by her side, grasped Lu Qingyi’s hand. He didn’t say a word, just had a handsome smile playing on his lips.

"Oh, how ruthless. Does he know about your other identity?"

Wen Linyu’s gaze rapidly cooled, his hands gripped tightly as he spoke slowly.

Xu Boyan had always been searching for Doctor L, and Doctor L had always been by his side. Whilst Lu Qingyi watched him search, she never disclosed her identity to him.

If Xu Boyan knew Lu Qingyi was Doctor L, what then?

"What does that have to do with you?"

Lu Qingyi raised an eyebrow, returning his cold gaze with her own.

Xu Boyan glanced at Lu Qingyi, his eyes brimming with curiosity.

His little friend has so many aliases, he was merely curious to see if there were any more he was unaware of.

"Yes, it has nothing to do with me."

Wen Linyu dropped his gaze, acknowledging it had nothing to do with him.

Lu Qingyi had brought her boyfriend right in front of him, an obvious challenge. She wasn’t giving him any chance at all.

In the end, he was nothing.
