Chapter 770 - 770: A Rescue Mission

Bullets poured out of the gun barrel, forming several lines due to their intensity, cutting through the air and bombarding Ma Lu!

However, Ma Lu reacted swiftly, noticing the dire situation, he immediately retreated back into the room.

The rattle of gunfire filled his ears as bullets struck the metal prison door, sparking fiercely!

Ma Lu checked his body and, finding no wounds or bleeding, let out a slight sigh of relief.

He was still puzzled, unsure of the situation. Why did the guard machine attack him without any warning? Was it because his unaccounted disappearance was discovered and he was mistaken for an escapee?

This thought briefly crossed Ma Lu's mind but was quickly dismissed. The machine guard, a Destroyer Type 2, had clearly already been in a fight before encountering him, missing a leg.

And perhaps that was the reason the guard attacked him without asking questions.

Thinking this, Ma Lu involuntarily gasped; who on earth was so bold as to confront a machine guard?

Considering that prison number 444 housed severe criminals from various dimensions, it's remarkable that there had been no major breaches in over two hundred years.

The astuteness of Prison Director You Wen was evident.

His strategy not only sorted inmates based on the length of sentence and their danger level, but he also enforced strict weapons control.

The firearms used by the prison guards were bound to fingerprints and iris scans, making them useless if confiscated by inmates.

Moreover, the weapons obtained by inmates through the blind box lottery could only activate during fishing sessions and remained locked inside the prison.

There were also rumors that You Wen secretly fostered gang power within the prison. These gangs, spread across various sectors, served as his eyes and ears, monitoring every movement within the prison walls.

Most crucially, You Wen had implanted miniature bombs in the back of each inmate's neck. Should anyone breach the rules or threaten the prison's security, You Wen would not hesitate to detonate the bomb.

Essentially, except for Ma Lu, the lives of all inmates were at his mercy.

With all these measures, prison number 444 was solid as a fortress.

Yet now, this fortress had been breached, and the first thing You Wen thought to seize was the mass detonation controller.

However, before he could even dress properly after rushing out of the Blood Pool, the bedroom door was kicked open, and a group of unidentified individuals stormed in.

"Don't move!"

The leader was a young woman nearly 1.8 meters tall, clad in a black nano combat suit, holding a Thorny Snake Plasma Assault Rifle, her face as cold as frost.

As soon as she entered, she placed the assault rifle against You Wen's bare chest.

Prison Chief's face was stricken with fear, not because he was undressed, but because he recognized the origins of these intruders.

They were wearing coalition uniforms, and the weapons they carried were standard-issue, no wonder they were able to breach prison number 444 and reach his quarters so swiftly.

This place might be lauded as The Grand Alliance's safest prison guard but that's only against common felons and Star-level Pirates, not a full-scale professional army assault.

Not to mention, he had just heard from the alarm that an Annihilation Level main cannon from a Star Destroyer was deployed, capable of destroying a planet.

You Wen fetching the controller was not about fulfilling the final duty of a Prison Chief, but rather hoping to use it as a bargaining chip in negotiations to at least save his own life.

There wasn't much valuable property in prison number 444. Although over the years, You Wen had made a good amount of Star Currency from fishing events, that money wasn't solely his.

Not only did he have to present tributes to the higher-ups but also had to spare a portion to feed his subordinates, thus, after so many years, he barely amassed over a hundred million.

Such a sum of money obviously wasn't worth deploying such a massive operation for, as the force on the opposite side was already powerful enough to rob a bank's vault.

Therefore, the purpose of this group was quite clear—they were here for a jailbreak.

Yuwen had even vaguely guessed the identity of this group because apart from the recent arrival, no other prisoner was worth such huge efforts.

But aren't they supposed to have been defeated by the coalition?

Yuwen's mind was racing, still contemplating how to persuade the other party to spare him, when unexpectedly the leading female warrior already drew the alloy dagger from her waist and pinned his outstretched hand to the ground.

The old Vampire let out a scream, his whole body trembling along with his fats.

"Where is the emperor?" the female warrior asked coldly.

Yuwen was about to answer, but the female warrior had already drawn a second dagger and plunged it into another of Yuwen's palms.

"Ah!" The old Vampire didn't dare to scream loudly this time, quickly enduring the pain as he said, "District 23, the person you're looking for is in District 23!"

However, after he spoke, another dagger appeared in the female warrior's hand, and she also nailed one of his feet to the ground.

"Ahhhh!! I'm not lying to you, I swear everything I said is true!" Yuwen almost howled in agony.

As a Prison Chief, he had always lived a comfortable life, like an emperor of his own domain in Prison 444, which is why he had grown so corpulent.

He hadn't fought in so long that he had almost forgotten what pain felt like.

"This stab is not because you lied, but because you were disrespectful to the emperor and my people,"

angrily said the female warrior. "We fought bloody battles to protect the Multiverse, and not only did you not provide help, but you also captured our people questioning our loyalty."

"It's the Council, it was the Council's doing!" exclaimed Yuwen when he saw the female warrior reaching for a fourth dagger, his face turning pale with fright.

"This has nothing to do with me, I'm just a prison manager, I can't decide who gets brought here!!! If you want revenge, go after the Council, what's the point of bullying me, an old man?"

"Don't worry, once we rescue the emperor, we will settle accounts with them,"

said the female warrior as she pinned all four limbs of the Prison Chief to the luxurious wooden floor.

She then communicated via a transmitter, the location of Ivan VI to the other accompanying Ares Warriors.

The female warrior didn't bother asking Yuwen for the access code to District 23; instead, she blasted the door open with primitive methods, and subsequently, Ares Warriors stormed in.

They had already killed all the nearby prison guards on their way there, but there were still machine guards and innocent prisoners inside District 23, and a three-way battle ensued shortly afterwards.

The Ares people, being the most valiant warriors throughout the Multiverse, were capable of fighting hundreds by themselves. It wasn't long before they repelled those machine guards and involved prisoners and finally found Ivan VI.

But the latter refused to leave with them.

After hearing that, the female warrior quickly led her people there, and upon seeing the imposing figure, she couldn't help but feel a wave of emotions, kneeling down on one knee, she exclaimed,

"Father!"
