Universal Lord: Creating My Valkyries Army -
Chapter 56: Ch.56 Back To Neo
Chapter 56: Ch.56 Back To Neo
Going east from the Eastern Central Forest, you can find the start of a plain area filled with grasslands.
As you move in this direction, the four faction battlefield could be found where the grass has become red due to the spilled blood.
Undead, Angels, Beastmen, Humans, and other races could be seen roaming around; they had scuffles occasionally, but since a big battle wasn’t going on, their situation was quite calm.
Suddenly, as if they sensed something, they looked toward the North and could feel a presence flying in this direction.
A presence they knew well enough as they started to run away like sheep that had seen a wolf, even those normally stupid undead quickly buried themselves into the ground.
The Ascension Ranks of the various factions that were supervising the area quickly hid their presence and tried to stand out as little as possible.
Only the beastmen, humans, and other races that were on the side of the approaching presence didn’t hide.
They stood there in silence, waiting for the approaching figure. After a while, a beam of green light flew above the battlefield, stopping right above Neo’s camp.
"Have there been any big changes?"
The figure asked as the green light covering her faded, stepping on the gentle breeze, she floated above them.
Her face had a gentle expression, and her voice was like the breeze in spring; her light blond hair fluttered with the wind, and her light green eyes looked at the beastmen.
But such a gentle figure made the battlefield fall into silence, she was a beautiful and poisonous flower.
The Flower of Death, as commonly known on the battlefield, but the troops on Neo’s side knew her as Vice Commander Lily or the Tower Master Lily.
"No Tower Master, the battlefield has been calm for now."
Shant, the cat beastman who was the general in charge of the battlefield camp, replied respectfully. He was half bowing, not daring to look at Lily.
"I see."
Lily replied as she looked into the now-empty battlefield. She could sense the figures hiding throughout it, especially in their main camp, but was too bored to deal with them.
She was out on a routine inspection, and after this, she could stay by her lovely lord’s side for quite a while.
"Tower Master, do you want to clear the battlefield?"
Seeing Lily staring at the battlefield, Shant asked in a cautious voice, although he knew that Lily wouldn’t hurt him, he was still a little fearful of her.
"No~"
Lily replied with a smile as the winds started to cover her body, like a rocket she pierced through the sky disappearing into the distant horizon.
"Haa."
Shant released a sigh of relief as he looked at the sky. He was really fearful of Lily; after all, if she annoyed her for some reason, his death wouldn’t be a quick one.
He then looked at the battlefield with some regret. If Lily had cleared it today, then he would get some breathing room.
After all he is just a Trancedent rank and most of those leading the camp of the other factions are Ascension rank and more than one.
Although these Ascension ranks won’t be able to defeat Lily, they sure can delay her until reinforcement arrives.
This is the only reason that the camps on the battlefield are allowed to stay; from what he had heard from his superior, it wasn’t the time for an all-out battle.
"Hahahahah!!!"
Suddenly, a voice broke the silence of the battlefield, wondering who the crazy guy was, all the people turned their attention in that direction.
It was a group of undead laughing like crazy as they dug themselves out of the ground.
"HAHAHAHA, Listen Everyone!!!"
"Today, we are the subordinates of the Headless Horseman, the greatest general under the Death-gazed lord, and have found a rainbow crystal mine."
"HAHAHAH!!"
"So all of you get out and don’t dare step in our way."
Hearing the undead’s laughter and words, most people wondered if they had lost their minds. After all, if they had found such a precious resource, why would they announce it throughout the battlefield?
They even wondered if it was some kind of scheme to lure them there. Still with little curiosity in their heart, they checked that location with sensing magic.
With their magic, they felt a burst of intense amount of energy leaking out from the holes the undead dug themselves out from.
The energy contained seven intense color domains in the area, as the energy in the surrounding area slowly started to rise.
"What?!"
"impossible!!"
Various such shouts were heard from throughout the battlefield as all of them looked at the area with greed in their eyes.
"Quickly pass this information to the city!!"
Shant shouted to the information team as they quickly disappeared into the shadows, moving at their fastest speed to pass on the information.
Shant’s face became serious as he understood that the situation was going to change with the discovery of this mine.
"Get ready for a defensive battle."
He commanded as he didn’t dare rush toward the center of this storm, after all, they are the weakest army here.
....
Going east in this direction, after travelling for a few tens of thousands of kilometers, you can see a massive wall surrounding a city.
Various archer towers, magic cannons, and various defense towers could be seen on the wall. The soldiers wearing standard iron armor can be seen patrolling ready to warn of any danger that may come this way.
The city had a radius of thousands of meters with a massive castle of the concentric type in the middle. Stone Houses were built on the front side of the city, creating three giant roads leading to the castle.
On the back side of the city, various farmlands were being cultivated as an artificial river ran throughout the city.
The castle in the middle was higher elevation than the other buildings, with only one staircase as the entry point.
A majestic magic tower stood on the south side of the city, acting as one of the most standout buildings.
The other standout building was the miniature castle next to the large castle, surrounded by a garden of flowers.
Inside the castle, in the middle open ground, Neo’s various conquered troops were training, and in the castle, Neo was busy handling various files.
His workload had decreased quite a lot after his trained group of ministers became somewhat competent, but he still needed to decide on important issues.
It should have lessened his workload, but due to the attack of the beastmen, undead, and the angels, there were a lot of things he needed to handle.
Inside his office, he leaned in his chair with a dazed face, the sunshine from the window being his bathed his figure.
"AAA"
He shouted with a frustrated voice as he rubbed his tired eyes. You could see some dark circles forming as he hadn’t gotten good sleep for a while.
"Do I need to summon a logistics-related Valkyrie or something?"
He questioned himself, quite seriously considering this joke-like idea. He was tired... very tired, after all, unlike other lords who had reached Ascension rank, he was still in the Transcendent rank.
So with having a weaker rank, he had to deal with a workload greater than the two opponent lords combined.
"Haaa, what am I thinking.."
Muttering to himself, he gulped down the entire cup of hot coffee in one breath. Finally feeling a little energy, he looked through the last document of the day.
"Finally done."
Throwing down the pen in his hands, he let go of his body and slumped on the chair like a tired cat. He really couldn’t understand why a lord like his needed to love through so many documents, after all, from the novels he had read in his last life, none of these were mentioned.
"I wonder how they compiled their information."
He wondered, after all there was no computer.. perhaps some kind of magic.. well, perhaps those protagonist were too bored to look at such things.
"Hmm, Lily should be returning from her post today."
He muttered as he looked outside the window. These days Stella and Lily are very busy, so they don’t stay in the city.
Plus, even when they do stay, since he has been busy searching for bodies of races related to blacksmithing, he wasn’t able to properly enjoy their company.
He had gotten some from Yulan, an Oger Blood Blacksmith, an Elven Forest Craftsman, an Elven Forest Blacksmith, and an Elemental Crafter.
From the shop, he has brought a Goblin Runesmith, a Dwarven Blacksmith, a Giant Formation Smith, a Fairy Energy Smith, and a Half-Dragon Flame Crafter.
These are all the bodies he had found with talent released to blacksmithing in the market, now only one more remains before he can summon another Valkyrie.
"I wonder what to name her."
He muttered as he opened the territory status panel. It has been a while since he has properly looked through it.
