"So, were you able to get anything from my father in-law?" Lin Yan asked her brother with excitement in her voice. She just knew that there was more than met the eyes when it comes to Li Ran.

"I thought you liked him? Why did you suddenly ask me to look into him?" Lin An asked as he handed his sister a glass of wine.

"Because he was too clean. So tell me what have you found so far."

"It’s only been a week, how can you expect me to find anything on a member of the Li Family just within a week?"

"Give me two days and I will find out why, but you are not going."

Lin An scoffed and said "Your are still so money minded." When he saw the worry in Lin Yan face he asked "And if you lose?"

"He wants me to tell him everything about myself."

"But he already knows everything about you except.....you are not actually going to tell him that are you?"

"I love Li Lingyun and I don’t like hiding things from him so maybe i should just tell him everything."

"No Lin Yan no, you can’t do that, you promise me you won’t say a word. He would see us as monsters."

"Or he might see that we didn’t have a choice. Li Lingyun is different, you know that."

Lin An held Lin Yan shoulder and said "We are taking that to our graves and that is final. Ok?"

Lin An sighed in relief and said "Within two days, I will find out anything fishy about Li Ran and then you can win that stupid bet."

Lin Yan nodded and said "I’m going to go pick up Li Xiao from school, it’s already late."

Lin An placed a gentle kiss on his sister forehead and said "Bye and tell Li Xiao I said hi."

On the way to Li Xiao school, Lin Yan car suddenly stopped.

"No, no, no....." She mutter as she tried to start the car again but to no avail. She looked around her and saw that cars were barely moving this way, why did she decide to take a short cut today?

Lin Yan got out of the car with her phone and tried calling Li Lingyun but it didn’t go through.

"Need help?"

Lin Yan turned when she held a familiar voice behind her. She saw Li Jun looking at her with a gentle smile on his face. She let out a force smile and said "I’m fine."

"But you don’t look fine to me."

"And I don’t look like I need help either."

Li Jun smiled widen when he heard her replied and asked "Why do I feel like you hate me?"

"Your feelings aren’t wrong."

"My uncle and I may have our issues, but that doesn’t mean that we can’t be friends"

Lin Yan raised her brow and asked "Why do you think that I would like to be friends with you? I hate you remember?"

"What I would like to know is why?" Li Jun asked, he was really starting to like Shen Yi. Lin Yan was about to retort when little droplet of rain began falling. No, anything but this.

"Do you still think you don’t need my help?" Li Jun asked with a smirk on his face.

Lin Yan checked the time on her phone and knew that the school would have already call Li Lingyun to tell him about no one picking Li Xiao up. The rain was already becoming heavier as Lin Yan looked at Li Jun and said "To the Li cooperation."

Li Jun smiled as if he has won a trophy. They both walked to his car that was park close to hers, he opened the door for her and closed it after she entered.

"Is Lin Yan with you?" Li Lingyun asked coldly.

"No, she told me she was going to pick up Li Xiao from school." Lin An replied but after a short silence he asked "Is everything alright?"

"I don’t know. The school called and said no one had come to pick up Li Xiao and that she was already crying, so I sent Gu Wei to pick her up and tried calling Lin Yan but the call isn’t going through. To make things worst it’s pouring outside and I have no clue of where she might be."

"Relax, you are getting too worry. I’m sure she is fine." Lin An said calmly.

"You are too calm."

"Because I know she is alright, have you forgotten that Lin Yan grew up in the street. I will check to see if I can find out her whereabout and then give you a call."

Li Lingyun nodded and ended the call, just then the door opened and he saw Gu Wei carrying a sleeping Li Xiao in his arms.

Li Lingyun walked towards them and took Li Xiao from Gu Wei, he smiled when the girl curled up in his arms. He looked at Gu Wei and asked "Did she cry herself to sleep?"

Gu Wei nodded and said "Mrs Li car was found at the side of the road, I think she was going to pick up Li Xiao when her car got spoilt."

"Do you know where she is now?"

"Still searching."

"Ok, you may go." Li Lingyun said and carried Li Xiao to the bedroom inside his office. He placed her on the bed and kissed her forehead before covering her with a blanket.

When he came out from the bedroom, the door to his office opened and Lin Yan entered with her close drenched.

Li Lingyun immediately walked up to her and hugged her despite her wet clothes.

At first, Lin Yan was surprised by his sudden hug before she smiled and hugged him back as she whispered "Were you that worried?"

Li Lingyun separated himself from Lin Yan before saying "Yes, I was very worried. Where were you?"

"I was going to pick up Li Xiao when my car broke down and I tried calling you but it didn’t go through and then I saw Li Jun."

Li Lingyun frowned and asked "You saw Li Jun?"

Lin Yan nodded and said "I saw Li Jun and he offered to take me back to the company and I couldn’t refused because it was pouring."

After Lin Yan statement there was total silence.

"You aren’t angry, are you?" Lin Yan nervously asked as Li Lingyun just kept silent without saying anything.

Li Lingyun smiled and said "I’m not angry.You were stranded and it was raining, if anything, I’m glad he was there." He held her hand and said "Let’s get you out of those clothes before you get sick."

"Did the school call?"

"Yes and Li Xiao is inside." Li Lingyun said and smiled when he heard her sigh of relief.

In Imperial Restaurant

"Is what you are saying true, did Li Jun and Shen Yi arrived at the company together?"

"Yes ma."

Fang Min let out a soft chuckled and said "Thank you. Ensure you keep an eye on the two of them." She ended the call and took in a deep breath to control the anger that was about to burst from within her.

Fang Min clenched the glass of water in her hands and stood up. She took the water and empty it on Zhou Xi hair as she said "I will make you regret every word that has come out from your mouth today." She took her handbag and left the restaurant.

"I found it." Lin An said in excitement

"You found what?" Lin Yan asked her brother through the phone. She had just finished putting Li Xiao to bed and was exhausted herself, she had so many meetings concerning the hotel today that the only thing she just want to do is to sleep.
