Chapter 105: Wasn’t A Coincidence

Li Lingyun rushed to the hospital and saw Lin Yan looking at the ceiling silently. She was awake? She was finally awake.

"Lin....."

"Mr Li." The doctor suddenly called.

Li Lingyun turned to look at the doctor and asked "Is she alright?"

The doctor sighed and said "I can’t tell for sure how she is doing. Ever since she woke up, she has refused to say a word and has just kept looking at that ceiling."

Li Lingyun looked at Lin Yan again and saw that her gaze has never left the ceiling, "Give a moment with her."

The doctor nodded and left.

Li Lingyun walked closer to Lin Yan and held her hand but there was still no reaction from her. "Won’t you even look at me?" He said softly.

"It was dark and scary." Lin Yan suddenly said.

Li Lingyun sighed in relief when she spoke and held her tightly. "I’m sorry. You only got shot because of me, if I had protected you then you would never have been in such a dark and scary place."

Lin Yan finally turned to look at Li Lingyun and saw tears in his eyes. It broke her heart seeing him like this, she took a sitting position and opened her arms widely as she said "Come here."

Li Lingyun chuckled softly at her actions. Words were unable to describe how much he has missed this woman. He sat on the bed and hugged her as he whispered "I’m sorry. I’m so sorry you were in my a place all alone. I’m so sorry." Li Lingyun whispered suddenly turned into a sob as his hold on her became tighter.

Lin Yan just held him and patted his back without saying anything until she heard him said "I was scared, so scared that you were going to leave me."

"I will never leave you." Lin Yan whispered and continued patting his back gently.

Lin An who had rushed to the hospital after receiving a text from Li Lingyun saw this scene and rather than interrupting them, he decided to leave. He was glad that his sister finally had someone else apart from him.

It’s been a week since Lin Yan woke up. The doctor still adviced that she should stay in the hospital which she does not waste a second telling Li Lingyun and Lin An how much she hates staying at the hospital.

"Why can’t I go home now? I’m feeling much better and even stronger." Lin Yan said and squeeze her arm to show the little muscle she has.

Lin An laughed and said "I also hate the hospital but your husband won’t let you leave until he received the doctor approval."

Lin Yan sighed and asked "Where is Li Lingyun anyway?"

"He had a meeting at the last minute but he will be here soon." Lin An said and gave his sister a plate of apples that has been cut into tiny pieces by him.

"Thank you." Lin Yan said as she collected the plate and said "Can you switch on the T.V? I’m bored."

Lin An nodded and switched on the T.V but frowned when he saw Zhou Xi on the TV being interviewed by reporters, he immediately change the channel and heard Lin Yan asking "Why did you change the channel?"

"You were bored, if you were to watch that then you would have become even more bored."

Lin Yan put an apple in her mouth and chewed loudly before asking "That was Zhou Xi right? The real Shen Yi."

"You are the real Shen Yi, never forget that."

"Lin An, what is going on? Why is Zhou Xi, an unpopular actress before I got shot is suddenly on TV with a lot of reporters fighting for an interview with her?"

"Why don’t you ask your beloved Li Lingyun?"

"Ask me about what?" Li Lingyun asked as he walked inside the ward. He placed the things he bought for Lin Yan on the table and looked at Lin An as he asked again "What should she be asking me about?"

"Nothing. It’s nothing." Lin An said with a smile.

"How is it nothing?"

"Lin Yan." Lin An called with warning in his voice.

Li Lingyun frowned when he heard the warning in Lin An voice and was about to say something when he heard Lin Yan asking "Are you and Zhou Xi friends?"

"What? No." He looked at Lin Yan and then Lin An as he asked "Is that what all this is all about?"

Lin Yan narrowed her eyes at him and asked "Then why are responsible for her being popular?"

"For that, yes, I am partly responsible."

"What?"

"I didn’t have a choice, I needed to help her. After Mu Chen left her to marry Ziyi, she almost ended her life and I just happened to save her."

Lin Yan frowned and asked "You just happened to saved her?"

"Yes. I felt what happened to her was wrong so I decided to boost her career. I invested in her, got her roles and the rest was all her."

"You don’t say."

"Why do I feel you are angry?"

Lin Yan smiled and asked "Why would I be angry? But let me get this straight, so while I was in a coma, you were busy helping another woman to boost her career? Why should I be angry about that?"

"Ok. I’m out." Lin An said. He walked closer to his sister and kissed her forehead as he whispered "I love you." Before walking out, leaving Li Lingyun and Lin Yan alone.

Li Lingyun looked at Lin Yan for a moment and asked "Is there something between you and Zhou Xi that I do not know about?"

"I have only met her once, what could be between us?"

"Then why are you overreacting?" Li Lingyun asked.

"You think I’m overreacting?"

Li Lingyun sighed and walked closer to Lin Yan and gently cupped her face as he said "If you want me to stay away from her and to never see her again then fine, I will do that. But what I don’t get is why we are about to have an argument about a woman I don’t even care about?"

Lin Yan eyes soften as he said that and said "I’m sorry, perhaps I just wanted to argue."

Li Lingyun smiled and gently pressed his lips to hers, he kissed her gently. But Lin Yan wanted something else, ever since she had woken up, Li Lingyun only kissed her gently, it’s not that she was complaining but she wanted a kiss that wasn’t always gentle and that his why she bit Li Lingyun lips and immediately pushed her tongue into his mouth.

Li Lingyun was about to lose his mind but he knew he needed to control himself and his wife wasn’t really helping.

Lin Yan hands moved to remove the button in his shirt when he held her hand and broke the kiss.

"Not now." Li Lingyun said with a hoarse voice as he tried to clam his breath.

"But I’m fine now, we can do it." Lin Yan said as she tried to kiss him again but Li Lingyun moved his face and said "No. We are not going that far until the doctor says it’s alright."

"So I need the doctor approval to sleep with you?"

"Lin Yan, you were in coma for a year and have only been awake for a week, I can’t help being worried. And besides you didn’t want to have an hospital baby."

"Fine. You win." Lin Yan said and lie back down on the bed.

Li Lingyun smiled and said "I bought food for you, since you didn’t hide your distaste for the hospital food."

Lin Yan smiled and looked at Li Lingyun as he served the food in a plate. Her smile faded as her thoughts wondered to Zhou Xi. She knew it wasn’t a coincidence that Li Lingyun saved her, she must have planned it but why?

Could it be she wished to enter his life again, now that she could not get Mu Chen? Lin Yan wondered if it would be a good idea for her to tell him that Zhou Xi might be Shen Yi.

"It’s been a week since she woke up and yet you haven’t done anything?" Fang Min said with anger in voice.

Zhou Xi calmly sipped her tea and said "You should calm down."

"I should calm down? Do you know what kind of problem that woman can cause for me. Now that she is back the hotel will be hers again."

"Well it was never yours in the first place."

Fang Min looked at Zhou Xi and scoffed as she asked "Do you no longer wish to be with Li Lingyun?"

"Of course I still want to be with Li Lingyun but being anxious like you are won’t do me any good."

Fang Min narrow her eyes and asked "You have a plan?"

Zhou Xi smiled and said "I know a secret that could not only separate the two of them but will also bring that woman down."
