Li Lingyun, Meng Zhu and Si Yan were all together in the VIP lounge in the bar Li Lingyun first took Lin Yan to visit his friends and Meng Zhu couldn’t help but asked "What exactly is your relationship with Zhou Xi?"

Li Lingyun just stared at his drink without replying at Meng Zhu question.

Meng Zhu sighed and said "It’s really making Ziyi anxious."

Si Yan scoffed and said "Your sister is always anxious. It’s like she became a mad woman after marrying that idiot."

"I won’t even argue with that." Meng Zhu replied as he sipped a drink and then his gaze went back to Li Lingyun as he said "I heard Li Xiao got into a fight again."

Li Lingyun nodded and said "I know she do it to get my attention."

"Then why allow it to go that far and I don’t still understand your sudden friendship with both Zhou Xi and Lin An, especially Lin An."

Li Lingyun sighed and said "Lin An is someone I must look after."

Meng Zhu frowned and asked "And Zhou Xi?"

"In a way the Meng family owes her? She was the one who was in a relationship with Mu Chen before Ziyi got pregnant for him."

"How is it our fault that she was dating a scumbag? And besides she is no better. She use your name at every opportunity to gain popularity with the media and it is only because of that she could win that useless award."

Li Lingyun chuckled softly and said "You hate her a lot."

"I’m looking at for you. How do you think Shen Yi will feel when she wakes up and hear these rumors?"

Li Lingyun frowned and said "If she cares that much then she should wake up and say it to my face."

Meng Zhu looked at Li Lingyun silently and just sighed. He could no longer understand this cousin of his anymore.

Li Lingyun saw the worry in Meng Zhu eyes and said "Don’t worry about me? You are now the president of country D so I’m sure you have a lot of things to worry about."

Just then he received a message on his phone and stared at it for a few minutes before putting his phone back to his pocket.

Si Yan saw his actions and asked "Any new news on who shot Shen Yi?"

"At first, I thought it was Su Yao but after investigating we found out it wasn’t him who did it." Meng Zhu said.

"That was because whoever shot my wife didn’t use just any assassin. It was a professional and I already know who will be able to tell me the person who shot her."

Meng Zhu and Su Yin both looked at Li Lingyun in surprised and asked "Who?"

"My uncle. But he would never give me that information unless I give him something in return."

"And you are not ready to give him that something."

Li Lingyun shook his head and finish his drink as he said "I will, but not on his terms." He stood up and said "I have to go pick up Li Xiao."

Su Yin immediately held his arm and said "Don’t forget, tomorrow is my day with Li Xiao. You know I don’t share."

Meng Zhu smiled and looked at Li Lingyun blank expression. Ever since he became the president, his only relaxed days are either with his wife or with these two cold fishes.

Li Lingyun removed his arm from Si Yan hold and said "I know."

Meng Zhu smiled widen when he heard Li Lingyun muttering "She is my daughter yet it feels as if everyone is her parent."

Li Lingyun left the bar and texted Lin An ’I will be a little late so just put her to sleep for me.’

Within one minute, Li Lingyun received a reply from Lin An "I’m not your nanny."

Li Lingyun lips curled upwards when he saw the message and texted ’Then should I pay you?’

Within a minute, Li Lingyun received a message from Lin An. He chuckled when he saw that it was his account number.

His smile fade away when he saw a figure waiting for him at the restaurant. He came down from his car and walked into the restaurant.

He saw as her face brighten at the sight of him and it made him wondered if Zhou Xi was actually developing feelings for him. He truly hope that was not the case.

Zhou Xi face brighten when she saw Li Lingyun and said "I thought you weren’t going to come."

Li Lingyun sat opposite her and said "Well, you said it was important."

Zhou Xi nervously bought out a piece of paper from her bag and handed it to Li Lingyun.

Li Lingyun took the piece of paper and read through it. He looked at Zhou Xi and asked "Is this it?"

"You were the one who made it possible for me and I wanted to share this good news with you" Zhou Xi replied with a smile. She knew it was stupid but she wanted to get any means to see him even if it was something unnecessary.

Li Lingyun read the paper once more and was about to reply when his phone rang. His gaze soften when he saw that it was his daughter video calling him.

He looked at Zhou Xi and said "Excuse me." He answered the call in front of her and Zhou Xi could hear a small and cute voice asking "Why aren’t you here daddy?"

And she was mesmerized when she saw a smile came out of Li Lingyun face as he said "I will be there soon, in the meantime listen to your uncle Lin and go to sleep. I will be with you very soon."

She regretted it. She regretted not giving him and their daughter a chance. Shen Yi compose herself not to cry. Everything was going to work out. The fake Shen Yi is in coma and she has secretly gone to the hospital and asked the doctor what was the percentage of her waking up and to her delight, he said it was very low.

This was the chance the heavens were giving to her to return everything back to normal.

"Don’t wait up for me. I love you." Li Lingyun said and ended the call.

His gaze became cold and expressionless as he looked at Zhou Xi and asked "Did you really call me here just to tell me the progress of your latest film."

"You invested in it didn’t you? And if you haven’t save me then....."

"Zhou Xi. When i met you a year ago, you were trying to take your life and I felt partially responsible for that because I knew you made that decision after hearing about Mu Chen and Ziyi marriage but we made a deal. I will help you to fulfilled your dream of becoming the best actress in country D and in return you would stay away from Ziyi and not interfered in her marriage."

"And I have done that. I have never interfered in her marriage."

"However I do not like the look in your eyes." Li Lingyun stated coldly.

"What do you mean by the look in my eyes?"

"I hated the way it brighten when I came in. If I am wrong then forgive me but Miss Zhou, do not develop feelings for me and if it is already there then kill it without me knowing."

Zhou Xi clenched her fist under the table and said "Li Lingyun, I have never said I have feelings for you."

"But you did make the public to believe we were having an affair, didn’t you?"

"I didn’t."

"I have only loved one woman and that is something that will never change. So to avoid you getting hurt again, kill whatever feelings you are developing for me and never make it known to me."

Li Lingyun stood up from his seat and said "And also, whatever you have to discuss with me from now on, you can say it to Gu Wei and he will pass it to me. I do not think it is necessary for us to ever see each other again."

Zhou Xi who had hope of building something with Li Lingyun felt shattered. She pinched herself hard not to cry and tells herself that there is still a chance.

She suddenly heard the click of heels moving closer to her, she raise her head and saw Fang Min smirking at her.

Fang Min sat in the same chair Li Lingyun just stood up from and said "So even after a year you still couldn’t win his heart. How pathetic."

"I’m not in the mood for your nonesense." Zhou Xi said as she took her pause and was about to stand up when she heard Fang Min saying "A year ago when you had the guts to blackmail me, I thought you would be different but what a shame."

Zhou Xi looked at Fang Min with a smile and said "If you still want your little son to be seen as a Li then you better shut your mouth."

Instead of getting angry Fang Min just smiled and said "Everything would be over if Shen Yi was dead, even Li Lingyun could one day be yours when the thought of she waking up is no longer there."

"I am not a murderer like you."

Fang Min let out a smile and said "How you sure about that? Because I recently found out that one year ago, you killed your own child." Fang Min stood up and came closer to Zhou Xi and said in a whisper "If Shen Yi doesn’t die, then you can never be with Li Lingyun and you won’t actually be killing her or you just have to is pull the plug. Think about it."

Lin An opened the door and sighed when he saw Li Lingyun. "I feel like I’m seeing your face everyday."

"Isn’t that a good thing?" Li Lingyun asked with a smile. He would never believe that Lin An would one day become someone who he was comfortable being around with. He was glad he gave Lin An a chance.

Lin An rolled his eyes and allowed him to come in.

Li Lingyun entered and asked "Is Li Xiao asleep?"

"Yes and how long will I play babysitter for your daughter? Don’t you have Nanny Bao for that?"

"Well, nanny Bao has travelled to her family to help out her daughter-in-law who just gave birth so no I don’t have Nanny Bao for that. She will staying with Si Yan throughout tomorrow anyway." Li Lingyun said and smiled when he saw a glimpse of disappointment in Lin An eyes.

Lin An scoffed and said "Whatever. Speaking about babies, has Li Xiao ever felt threatened by Li Jun newborn."

Li Lingyun chuckled and said "Why would she ever feel threatened by Li Yuze? If you are talking about the money aspect then Li Xiao had enough money to last her for ten life times."

"Which of course she cannot access until she is twenty."

"Twenty two actually." Li Lingyun corrected with a smile.

Lin An sighed and said "Apart from the money aspect, every news tablet talked about how the old man adores his great grandson."

Li Lingyun just smile and said "It should. Li Yuze should be his favorite great grand child."

Lin An frowned and wanted to asked what he meant by that until a realization came to him "He is doing it to protect Li Xiao. Do you think Fang Min was involved with the shoot out?"

Li Lingyun shook his head and said "No, she wasn’t involved this time. But if her son doesn’t get the title of the favorite Li child, it would put Li Xiao in danger."

"Why don’t you just get rid of her?" Lin An asked in annoyance.

"I can’t." Li Lingyun replied.

"Why?"

"Because she is Lin Yan unfinished business and that is something I won’t take from her."
