Worldbuilding is amazing, the concepts for powers and abilities are well developed and the setting of omegaverse fits in really well. Don't discount it just for being an omegaverse setting, it fleshes out the world in a unique and interesting manner.
The characters all have unique personalities that develop as the story progresses and the plot is very engaging thus far, being well paced. ML is a green flag, relationship is green, great communication between MC and ML.
Keep in mind that this is a fan translation so there are minor issues like pronouns and sentence structure issues sometimes but it is very readable and well written.
I like it, currently speedrunning it to catch up but it's intresting for sure, the plot and the characters I feel like are well represented compared to some other books where side characters are often forgotten within like 10 chapters. Also just to note ML is a greeeeen flag (mini wahooooo :D)
This is my review from LNW and since its down I'm gonna paste it here
I love this book the world building is so good. The slow burn is also good. It is mostly like this for the character growth and the relationship between he both of them to form. You wont even notice the yoai parts until you get to a certain part. This novel deserves to be high in ranking due to its great plot and characters. The best part of this novel in my option is the world building as well as the relationships between all the characters.
This story is a beautiful fantasy.
The world built in it is great, having it's own religion, technologies, powers, legends and lore in general. The pace at which we uncover data of it is not rushed, but it will also not feel like it's being dumped at the reader. It's all uncovered when it's needed.
Despite being a fan translation with a lot of errors (like changing the characters gender by mistake sometimes, or confusing the names of characters in the scene), one can see that the way it's written is really poetic but not overly romantic. I would say the only thing that is bothering me from this is the lack of a way in which we can exactly calculate the time that passes. For example, at the start we are told how three months pass, and then a week, and then two more, then a month, etc. But from this point on it's rather vague untill they mention a year has passed. This is, of course, only personal, but I feel it would be great to have there. The action scenes have a great spacial awareness, never letting the reader be lost, knowing where the characters stand in the environment and even feel if they are calm and can read the battlefield or if they're lost in a chaos. The smut scenes are intense and full of emotion, they perfectly convey the relationship and feelings between the main characters.
Now, regarding the characters, they're mostly really well written and characterised, including the supporting cast. The protagonist and male lead are both the most "perfect" in the sense that their minds are supposed to work beyond what's considered "normal" people; and still they carry their own little imperfections and growth arcs that add flavour and prevents them from being too close to perfection. The secondary characters have really distinguished personalities, philosophies and are given plenty of opportunities to shine and grow along with the main character and the story. Even those who seldom appear are presented with both faults and fortes. The story emphasizes how they all grow and, despite not being the main focus or as important to receive names, how they don't stay as fearful, powerless and naive background characters.
The political aspects of the story are truly well done. The scenarios aren't nonsensical, they could, and probably have, happen in our world as well. The relationships between nobles and royalty, their rivalries and alliances, the common folk and the authorities, the armed forces and their superiors or enemies; they all make sense, don't contradict, flow together like a mess or in harmony at times. I believe this is the strongest point of the story. There's always something happening in the world, often times it's more than one at the same time, and yet I personally never felt overwhelmed nor bored. The conflicts happen quite seamlessly along with their solutions. Of course, some people might find boring the fact that, up to this point (chapter 698) everything goes well and as planned, but this is characteristic of an epic fantasy novel.
Lastly, I would like to talk about the romance. This is a perfectly built slow burn, which makes a lot of sense considering the protagonist (or at least the character the narrator follows the most) has been through so much in his previous life in this specific aspect. The story let's him heal slowly, learn how to trust and how to open up little by little because he wants to. He is never forced, always left to decide whether he wants something or not in the romance, which is beautiful. The best part is that, despite falling in love and realising what his feelings are, the protagonist does not suddenly change his personality. Love does not make him take a 180° turn in that aspect. Does he change? A bit, yes, but it's so subtle that even he is surprised at times when someone points it out, or when he alone notices. But this is not a result from pure romantic love, it's also from his friendships and connections. It all comes together to help him feel better while retaining his distinct personality. If someone does not enjoy romance being such a secondary thing, then this might not be their cup of tea. Otherwise, I believe it's just the right amount of it considering the main characters are so ambitious and want to pursue their dreams above all.
To finish off this long (and perhaps poorly written/expressed) review I want to sincerely express how much I love and enjoy this web novel. It's so refreshing to see a story be so rich and entertaining, so balanced between seriousness and sprinkles of comedy. I won't lie, the omegaverse tag surprised me, but it's not treated as the main point and is approached slowly for both the reader and the characters in the universe of the story, so no complaints. Also the little tactic of "fated love" always gets me, specially when romance is not the main focus, making it extremely slow. It feels more fulfilling to me, like savouring every single bit of it along the context. In that aspect, I love the characters, I cannot stop thinking about them individually and their interactions. The protagonist is specially relatable when he specifies how he thinks about himself, how he sees his past self, his errors and accomplishments. I find myself rooting for him at every moment even when he's not doing something considered right (like holding grudges or throwing hands at rude people). I relate to him and get so happy when he gets to be appreciated and loved by others, contrary to his previous life. The way he and others interact is always so endearing, making me take screenshots of moments I find lovely and hilarious. I swear I haven't had this much fun with a story in a long while, I have found myself recommending or mentioning this web novel to everyone I know LMAO. I normally don't comment on websites, but I felt like this story deserves to be praised, explained to prevent misunderstandings and misconceptions (which I have seen plenty in other forums and such places) and shared with love. I can't wait to see what comes in the story, can't wait to see a physical copy when it's done as the author wanted, can't wait for this to be more discussed with love. I'm not exaggerating when I say this has become my new Roman Empire. I'm certain I have so much more to talk about, but that would unnecessarily extend this ridiculously lengthy post. Just know I may be a little bit obsessed with this, truly invested, feeling like a maniac given that I read it all in a few days every second I had free.
Thanks to the author for this beautiful story, I hope they are healthy and happy. And also thanks to the translation team for their humble efforts to bring and share this great title.
I hope everyone who reads this finds it as comforting and entertaining as I did, whether you agree or not with all I have babled about.
