True Solution of the Sword Dao -
Chapter 475 - 435 Conspiracy Part 2
Chapter 475: Chapter 435 Conspiracy Part 2
Lin Fei directly transmitted his voice through the Sword Canon, instructing a contact in the Golden Holy See to transfer exactly one hundred thousand in funds to Lin You’s account. He would not give any more; he was waiting for Lin You to run out of money and humbly seek him out again. Such opportunities were rare.
At this thought, a hint of gentleness appeared in Lin Fei’s eyes. The nerves he had kept tense all the time could finally relax slightly.
Perhaps this was the only bit of joy in his life now. Other than that, he was constantly moving forward, wanting to see what the peak really was. This required not only talent and luck but also persistent determination.
The spiritual shock from reviving Ning Que made him feel as though his decades of memories were becoming increasingly blurry. Only the image of his sister Lin You was clearest, followed by his parents and other relatives such as Jiang Nan.
Originally, he was just an ordinary person, a regular college guy. Often he wondered, if it were not for Lin You, his parents, and the perseverance left from his past life, he might have already become a fusion of many memory imprints, unclear of who he really was.
Fortunately, the power of the Monster Clan far exceeded his expectations; he didn’t have to rush to revive the strong ones in the Sword Canon, but could save the Blood Sacrifice power to revive even stronger ones, like the top-level Ning Que.
Back in the dormitory, the computer that Lin Fei had someone deliver a few days ago was now fully connected to the internet. Zhao Yuqing was sitting and playing on the computer.
And Lin Fei lay on the upper bunk, taking a nap.
If there were no computer, Zhao Yuqing would just pick up a book to read at random.
This was her strange daily ritual. She called it cultivating a sense of familiarity and daily emotional connections. When one day she suddenly left, Lin Fei would miss her due to the unfamiliarity.
As for this explanation, Lin Fei sneered.
However, he just let her be and did not interfere. But now, his attention had shifted to a clone of his that was far away in Europe, where preparations were starting for a Divine Artifact component retrieval operation.
This mission would be personally commanded by him.
And the first stop was Turin City, Italy.
*****************
Turin, Italy
At night, in the city center, specks of golden lights dotted the ancient city, among which a white-domed building quietly nestled.
The sky was not yet completely dark, still tinted with a hint of deep blue.
On the white-domed building.
At an observation deck, sparsely scattered groups of people stood around, clustering together and quietly discussing topics of interest. Some held wine glasses with an elegant demeanor, others were politely social, and some looked like tourists, occasionally walking to the edge of the deck to look out.
In a corner of the observation deck.
Stood four people, three men and one woman.
These four were different from those quietly chatting around; they only exchanged glances but did not speak.
Among the four, the only female was an older woman, about fifty years old, dressed in a revealing black corset dress. While she tried to showcase a sexy and enticing posture, the traces of aging still left an indelible mark on her face, making her get-up emphasize her aged and sagging skin.
A middle-aged man with a small mustache gave off the aura of a scholar, wearing a pair of silver glasses and crossing his arms.
Next to him was a robust, tall man, very young, who seemed to be a manual laborer.
The last person wore a black robe with a Silver Cross on his chest, his face aged and hair graying, clearly identifiable as a Priest.
Around the four of them, a thin, invisible membrane isolated them from the people nearby, preventing their voices from carrying out.
It was clear these were no ordinary individuals.
"... it’s not as simple as you think," the Priest murmured quietly, speaking in perfect Italian, "It’s been centuries since all four of us have gathered together like this."
"It can’t just be for a trivial meet-up, then?" the old woman said impatiently, "I just got a new Reed Dragon Beast, still in training. If the timing runs out, it’s all for nothing!"
"Of course, it’s no small matter," the Priest smiled. "It mainly concerns the recent Elisa’s Gate incident. Our Holy See failed to secure it, and one of my clones was utterly defeated, losing the advantage. So, I’ve called you all here to discuss it."
"Competing for Elisa’s Gate isn’t something major, and you personally failed?" the scholarly man said gravely, "Which group was it? The Eastern Orthodox Cult? The Hand of Glory? Or perhaps the Temple of the Gods and heretics? Don’t tell me it was the magic side; they aren’t interested in this."
"That might still be the case, as I had contact with a Fiv- Ring Mage from the magic side just a decade ago. They are capricious, acting on a whim with no regard for consequences," the robust man spoke gravely. "Let’s cut to the chase, Feis, we’re the top combat power of the visible Holy See, none of us idle. I still have matters to handle in my squad and not much spare time."
The Priest nodded.
"Well then, since that’s the case, I won’t beat around the bush. Gentlemen, please watch this footage." The Priest raised his right hand, and three white dots of light instantly shot out, embedding themselves into the foreheads of the other three people.
None of the three showed any surprise, instead, they all closed their eyes, apparently in contemplation.
After a moment.
All three showed expressions of astonishment.
"To think there are such powerful beings we knew nothing of...." the old woman said in surprise. "We’ve dealt with Griffin before, and Rogar, the Serpent Woman, the old bat from Dark Night Castle. But this young man wielding an Eastern longsword, I have absolutely no recollection of him?"
"I feel the same," the scholar frowned, "With the power of the Holy Sound Department and the Holy Light Department, we still couldn’t find out anything about this person. He must either be a former powerhouse who has changed his identity, or someone who has only recently advanced to Grade A."
The muscular man couldn’t help but nod in agreement with this point of view.
Priest Feis glanced at the three with a mild expression.
"The footage just now was the last memory I captured before I was defeated. The young man in the video is named Yan Fei, who ascended to Grade A strength only in recent years."
At this statement, the expressions on their faces subtly changed.
"Just recently ascended to Grade A and he could defeat your avatar so decisively?" the old woman said in surprise. "Feis, you’re not joking, are you?"
"Joking? How could I?" The priest shook his head slightly. "This Yan Fei was the main force in seizing Elisa’s Gate recently. I suspect he’s in cahoots with Griffin and the Serpent Woman. That golden color must be from the organization they created. They’ve absorbed quite a few Dream Eaters into it. Moreover, they’ve started mixing unclearly with the people from the Dark Alliance."
"This is troubling," the scholar stroked his chin thoughtfully, "So you called us here because you must have some plan, right?"
"Of course," nodded the priest, "The latest news I’ve received is that this Yan Fei is also a Dream Eater. He plans to seize one of the Divine Artifacts of the Dream Eaters right here, in Turin. I’ve checked carefully; it appears that Yan Fei has grown from an ordinary person to a top-level powerhouse in just over a decade. Such a rate of growth is truly astounding. There must be some secret aiding his growth."
"Indeed, such a rate of promotion, even when I obtained King Arthur’s treasure, I couldn’t achieve that," the muscular man said, frowning in agreement.
"You mean...." the old woman and the scholarly man exchanged looks.
"Kill this newly ascended Yan Fei. All of us act together before he fully familiarizes himself with the combat and life-preserving methods of this level," the priest said grimly.
"A newbie who just ascended not long ago probably has few avatars. Using the Adarosha Hourglass, I can destroy up to five of his avatars at once, provided we just need to kill one avatar within the time of the hourglass."
The other three exchanged looks briefly.
"All right, we agree. The secrets held by such genius powerhouses are definitely not merely powerful; they could very likely help us break through to a new level," the scholar nodded. "I’ve also rested long enough in Minori; if I don’t get moving soon, my body will start to rust."
"You and that bald head from the tribunal are always skulking around together; if it weren’t for your laziness, the incident with my sister wouldn’t have happened," the muscular man’s expression darkened as he spoke. "Especially that Tesla guy!"
Upon hearing this, the scholar’s expression also showed a hint of shame.
"Enough of that, Lord Noah," the priest intervened. "Let’s focus on how to perfectly handle this Yan Fei."
"You trap his avatars with the hourglass, and we strike together. Even Griffin’s avatar wouldn’t escape death. What’s there to think about?" the old woman casually said. "After that, I want the grayish-white energy seen in that clip, that grayish-white stone that can transform between materialization and energization. It’s just what I need for my recent research."
"This Yan Fei definitely harbors a huge secret. I’ll extract his memory using the Soul Refining Holy Fire, and each of us will get a share...."
The old woman hadn’t finished speaking when she was interrupted by the scholar beside her.
"Why should you be the one to extract souls? You want that grayish-white stone as well as a quarter of the memory? Things aren’t that easy in this world!" a hint of cold sneer appeared on the scholar’s face. "Miranda, don’t take us all for fools."
"If I’m exerting the most effort by employing the Soul Refining Holy Fire, why shouldn’t I get a larger share?" Miranda narrowed her eyes, speaking in a low tone.
"I also know how to use the Soul Refining Holy Fire; how about I do it, and I take a larger share?" the scholar said uncompromisingly.
"Then I’ll take his blood, I won’t need the memories," the muscular man spoke in a low voice. "Perhaps the blood of such a genius powerhouse could be of some use."
The priest made a calming gesture with his hands.
"Don’t rush, I also know something else. It’s said that Yan Fei possesses a set of formidable sword techniques, there might be some secret manual or legacy items on him. After all, even the strongest memory can have lapses. We’ll leave the distribution of his sword techniques between the two of you."
"Feis, you make it sound so easy, aren’t you tempted?" Miranda snorted.
"I want control of Elisa’s Gate," the priest smiled, "How about that as a supplement for using the hourglass?"
"That’s more like it." Everyone gradually relaxed.
"Then, that’s it for now, let’s each prepare. We can make our move in the next few days."
"Good."
"See you in a few days."
The three quietly vanished from the observation deck, leaving only the priest.
The surrounding tourists and others seemed completely unaware of their presence.
The priest turned around, gazing at the distant Alps Mountain, his demeanor leisurely.
"Still, the view from Antonelli Tower looks more comfortable...." he murmured softly. (To be continued. If you like this work, welcome to vote and recommend at qidian.com. Your support is my greatest motivation.)
