Chapter 460: In the Killing March Toward Eternity Chapter 422 Arrival One
In the Sword Canon Space
Star Lord Ning Que held a sword in one hand, while silver mini shields automatically appeared and vanished around him, each emergence accompanied by a crisp metallic clashing sound. The mini shields would instantly burst forth tiny sparks.
A multitude of black lines densely surrounded him, forming a smoky blackness in the area around him.
Suddenly, the countless black lines coalesced into one, ferociously forming a black silhouette behind him that thrust its sword straight forward.
Clang!!
The sword tip heavily struck a silver mini shield, emitting a dull metallic collision sound. But it was only a moment before the mini shield was directly punctured through.
"Silver Star!" a deep voice softly echoed.
Star Lord Ning Que’s entire figure blurred like a phantom, instantly turning from facing away to facing the incoming assault head-on.
In his hand, the silver longsword was perfectly positioned to block the attacker’s blade.
As soon as the voice fell, a faint silver halo slowly burst at the point of contact between the two swords.
The black silhouette, as if struck by lightning, was explosively thrown backward.
"Merely relying on speed won’t win against me, not even the Sword of the Void," Star Lord Ning Que calmly stated.
The receding darkness on the repelled shadow gradually faded. After several somersaults in the air, it landed gracefully on a patch of grass not far away, revealing its true form as Lin Fei.
Currently, he was slightly panting, his eyes glowing with a faint gold. In his hand, he held the slender silver Sword of the Void, with tiny silver specks continuously circling the blade’s edge. This was a natural energy reaction invoked by the Sword of the Void.
"Again!" Lin Fei pitched his longsword at an angle, entering the Star Shattering Sword Technique’s Second Layer for the first time in official combat use of its sword techniques.
Two black spheres the size of fists slowly emerged behind him and then instantly transformed into two black streaks, flying onto the sword body of the Sword of the Void. They became two tiny black orbs, continually orbiting the blade.
In the air, a vast pressure rapidly spread.
Boom!!
Lin Fei disappeared from the spot in an instant. He had entered the Extreme Shadow State.
Star Lord Ning Que was also somewhat caught off guard, a sharp aura almost instantly appearing in front of him just as Lin Fei vanished. In panic, he quickly raised his hand, as silver light burst out around him. Two silver stellar phantasms similarly converged into his sword, forming two orbiting orbs.
He had unexpectedly used the same Sword Form as Lin Fei.
"Star Fang!!"
A low growl sounded, from whom it was unclear.
A black and a silver longsword harshly collided. More precisely, the silver longsword slammed into the middle of Lin Fei’s blade.
Clang!!
Lin Fei’s tip nearly pierced Ning Que’s face but was instead deflected by the impact, causing the blade to slash upwards.
Two black stellar orbs automatically flew out towards Ning Que, only to be intercepted by two silver orbs flying out just as swiftly. After two slight sounds, both sides vanished simultaneously.
In the Extreme Shadow State, Lin Fei’s speed was incredibly fast. Barely repelled, he vanished into the air again.
Clang!!
A black sword mark instantly exploded to the right of Star Lord Ning Que, fiercely striking the silver shield. The automatically appearing silver shield cracked as glass would, suddenly shattering into numerous pieces. The black sword mark paused briefly before continuing its assault on Ning Que.
Star Lord Ning Que was too late to turn around; evidently, the phantom-like turning from just a moment ago was merely a one-time secret technique, not for arbitrary use. He had no choice but to muster all his strength. Countless silver exploded outwards.
The black sword mark faced a myriad of silver light, its speed gradually slowing.
"Such formidable strength!"
Lin Fei internal praised. This sword contained most of his True Qi strength, intermixed with some properties of demonic power. The two intertwined, and under the fusion of the Holy Spirit’s Blood, both switched from complete conflict to a state resembling the gravitational and repulsive forces of a star. Repelling each other, yet enveloped by a miraculous force, they formed a continuously revolving field of power.
This sort of strength was one of Lin Fei’s trump cards. With this sword, he believed even the likes of the serpent woman Luojia would have to temporarily avoid its edge, yet to his surprise, Star Lord Ning Que managed to slow and weaken the sword’s power merely through an outburst of his innate strength.
However, his admiration aside, seeing the sword’s momentum slow, a glint of gold sparkled in Lin Fei’s eyes as he disappeared mid-air once more.
Extreme Shadow State couldn’t be maintained for long, and with his continuous attacks being blocked by Star Lord Ning Que, Lin Fei knew that without a decisive move, he would likely face the same outcome of failure once again.
With a light tap on the grass, his entire body flew up into the air.
Layers of gray-white carapace rapidly spread from his chest to cover half of his body. Gold patterns also appeared in his pupils and on his forehead.
Half-transformed into a demon, this was Lin Fei’s final trump card; if this still wouldn’t work, then he would have to accept defeat once again.
Extreme Shadow State coupled with Demonization, and the addition of the Sword of the Void. Such a combination was far different from the capabilities demonstrated in the last fight.
"I can’t use the Star Shattering Sword Technique again; the opponent is nearly as familiar with the Star Shattering Sword Technique as I am," Lin Fei recognized, realizing that his Star Fang from earlier was countered by Ning Que who, despite acting later, struck faster at a weak point in his swordplay.
Unable to match his speed, yet able to deflect his sword forms with ease, it was clear Ning Que was excessively familiar with the swordplay.
Ning Que looked up at Lin Fei in midair.
His eyes also showing a hint of admiration.
Unlike their last fight, this time neither side used wide-ranging Sword Forms to counter each other. The result of the last battle had made it clear to both sides that wide-sweeping moves were ineffective, and only highly concentrated Points of power aimed at Points of attack were the only ways to defeat the other.
