Chapter 100: The wastelands

Chapter 100: The wastelands

A man could be seen coming out from a room, walking down the hallway on the tenth floor. He was wearing an elegant silk outfit, complementing his smooth white skin. A smile was plastered on his face, walking past some groups of people in the floor.

"Sir eldren." Two guards bowed with respect upon noticing him. Waving his hand he tapped their shoulders lightly, placing his hands at his back continuing his walk.

’So far so good.’ He inwardly said, inhaling a decent amount of air. A few meters away was a round floating metal table, adorned with beautiful and eye-catching drawings. On top were different dishes of all varieties, layed on the table. Picking up a plate eldren was torn on what to choose, as there were countless decisions he could make.

’I’ll just take one out from everything.’ He smiled, taking one out of everything that layed on the table.

’Beep! Beep! Beep!!!’

The alarm suddenly started blaring with ear deafening noise, jolting everyone within the castle walls. Raising his head up eldren had a mixed feeling, a complicated smile formed on his face.

Shaking his head he dropped the plate on the table, extending a leg forward and disappearing the next instant.

....

Back in the room, Marie stood frozen still staring at troy with shock. Her heart was thumping faster and louder in her chest, as her skin screamed in terror looking at troy. It was like a living nightmare on elm’s street, coming true.

A stinging pain struck her head but she didn’t dare complain. Knowing the odds were against her she quickly put two and two together, deciding to complete her mission.

"You might be stronger than hell before, but you’ve been asleep for two years now!" She shouted, causing troy to raise a brow shock evident in his eyes.

Using the opportunity, Marie used her free hand to push down. The other hovering above Troy’s head. At first there was no sudden reaction, but using all her strength she was finally getting somewhere, as her hands were slowly descending.

"W-why?" was the only thing which came out Troy’s lip, staring at her. Glancing at him, she darted a piercing gaze towards him. not answering but continuing in her quest.

Seeing this young strange female ignore him, troy could feel the little strength he had being suppressed by this assassin. Using his legs he kicked her guts, causing her to grunt a bit in pain.

Repeating the process several times he finally got a breakthrough, as he managed to overpower her sending her down to the floor.

Raising his upper body troy could feel his head spinning. He was immediately struck by a sharp stinging pain, piercing his head like a nail being hit with hammer. It was painful and tiring, but he fought through for his life.

Slowly getting up he saw the attacker was still on the floor, hurting from his previous attack. Not wasting time, he managed to control his trembling legs to stand barely.

"Mhm!" He sharply grunted. feeling a new set of pain invade his system, as he slumped to the desk beside him.

"Argh! you damn old bastard.. 2 years and you’re still as stubborn as a mule." She grunted clutching her guts, a wicked grin forming on her lips. Standing she picked up the knife which was flung to the other side, her gaze returning to Troy.

"Haha! the great king of Lumia kingdom, running for his dear life. Now that’s a bummer." She smiled rushing to him, the knife clutched tightly in her hand. She had the upper hand as Troy’s back was turned to her, giving her the element of surprise.

"It’s time to die fool.. you should’ve just remained dead!" She yelled, plunging the knife to his back. Just as it was meters away, troy with lighting fast speed turned, slamming a metal tray to her head.

’Bang!’ A pop sound went off, followed by a thud as Marie’s body crashed hard to the floor.

"Phough!" Troy held his chest coughing up fresh blood, as his body also crashed to the hard floor with a thud.

’I-i have to get out of here.’ He thought looking for a way out.

He didn’t recognize this room cause his vision was still hazy. Using his hand he crawled like a toddler, each step bringing excruciating pain to his whole nerves. Glancing back troy could see Marie had started moving slightly, his chances of escaping becoming slim.

He didn’t know why this psycho woman was trying to kill him, nor where he was. But one thing was for sure, he had to get away from her or it would be the end of him.

"Hahaha~" Marie crackled softly, wiping some blood off her lips. "You sure are some tough nut to crack aren’t you."

Stumbling to her feet Marie had an insidious look in her eyes, like a predator staring down her prey.

"Enough of this foolishness, it’s time I matryed you!"

Raising the knife she kicked Troy’s gut multiple times, stomping his back. Crouching down a bit a cold wave washed down her spine, making her shiver a bit.

"You had this coming king." She sarcastically said, hovering the knife above Troy’s defenseless head.

"Judgment day’s here and you didn’t make the cut."

’Swoosh! bam!’ She couldn’t react as a fist was sent to her chest, sending her body colliding with the wall knocking her out cold.

"Your majesty, are you alright!?" A soft voice spoke. Turning, troy could see a beautiful female crouched down beside him. A worried look plastered on her face.

"Don’t worry your majesty, you’re safe now." Ona said, her tone containing a hint of sadness and joy.

Hearing her words troy was confused, as he didn’t recognize her. His head was currently hurting, but he could’ve sworn he recognized her voice somewhere.

"W-who are you?" Troy softly asked, causing ona’s face to contort into a frown.

"Don’t you recognize me your highness? You’ve been in a coma for 2 years." She could see he didn’t recognize her, staring at her strangely.

’Damn it!’ ona cursed. Fearing troy might be suffering from memory loss, after being in a vegetative state for 2 whole years.

"D-don’t worry your highness, all will be made clear in due time. First we need to get you out of here."

Helping him up troy felt incredibly light in ona’s hand, as she swooped him up with ease.Walking over to spot at the edge of the room, she stopped for a moment. glancing back at Marie still unconscious, then to the other individual on the bed.

"I need guards at sector null." She uttered, and a voice quickly responded from the other side.

"Yes ma’am!"

Tapping her watch, a bright light enveloped both their bodies. disenigrating into particles of light, disappearing into the wind.

The room was once again filled with an awkward silence.

.....

In an isolated deserted place located far away, at the outskirts of the planet layed a huge rock. glowing with strange purple energy. No lifeform or water could be seen laying across the vast field, only the harsh sun heating the scorching sand.

’Boom!!’ An explosion occured from underneath, sinking a small portion of the sand.

Going down, one could see a whole different subterranean world just like the desert up. Hot scorching sand with vast fields, no signs of life and two suns opposite each other, stretching across the far ends.

’Bam!’ A figure was sent flying across the hot sand, landing hard to the sizzling ground. Her face was all hot and red, as small parts of her skin could be seen peeling away.

"Are you enjoying your stay little sister?" Lynn crackled madly, slowly approaching Lumia laying against the hot sand.

"Am sure your having quite a blast." She smiled. Pointing the strange wooden staff at Lumia, a purple beam of energy shot out. Hitting Lumia from the sand, chucking her body up in the air a bit before she crashed down to the sand again.

"Come on.. heal yourself! we don’t want you dying out on me now do we." Tapping the staff to the sand, a purple orb engulfed Lumia lifting her off the sand to her feet.

Two chains then sprung from the ground, wrapping around lumia’s hand lifting her in the air a bit.

"W-why are you doing this?" Lumia barely spoke, without much strength in her words. Hearing this a smirk appeared on Lynn’s lip, steadily making her way to lumia’s location.

"You really want to know why am doing this? Fine.. I’ll tell you, but I promise you won’t like it." She chuckled slightly, leaning closer to lumia.

"You’re the reason for this." She softly whispered into her eyes.

"B-but I didn’t do anything, I don’t even know you!"

"Ohh, but you do. You see, before you were born I was meant to be the future ruler. Yes I was different from everyone, and maybe a little crazy.." she smiled, staring into the distance her mind drifting elsewhere.

"Anyways.. to cut to the chase, I was too powerful for my age. Father always took me out to every battle since I was 9, and trust me we were victorious."

"Though I couldn’t quite control my powers, which led to me hurting mom." She paused recalling something. Lumia could sense her mood change, and she subconsciously felt sad for her.

Shaking her head, Lynn then continued. "I-i was a freaking kid! At age 16 it got worse, and I wiped out all my personal maids and space guards."

"They all feared me and decided to banish me here to the wastelands, where nothing survived."

Lumia could feel the heaviness in her words as she spoke. Tears was subconsciously streaming down her eyes, hearing Lynn speak.

"But they were wrong though. I did survive, and evolve past my former self. Now am going to take what’s rightfully mine, and make all those who banished me pay." Placing her hand on lumia’s shoulder, purple energy enveloped her. Fading, Lumia could be seen there. her body fully healed without a single scratch.

"You’re not the only one with the regeneration ability.."
