Chapter 155: He was such a menace

Seo-Jun broke out in laughter. Yeah, mock me. I know you wanna.

I could feel my entire body trembling. I was upset but I couldn’t do anything about it as I had a secret to hide.

What was I so scared of, that I was hiding the fact that I had nearly or even scalded the back of my neck, you might wonder.

Well, think of it this way.

Right now, I have the maids bathing me in the morning and evening, and though I’m not complaining since the bath treatments they give are so relaxing... They’re probably the reason I can still move after being drained of my vigor by the likes of my four masters daily... But I don’t want to be bathed for too long.

I was planning to try and convince my masters later that I could bathe on my own so the maids didn’t need to tend to me anymore.

But with this unfortunate incident that made it seem like I couldn’t handle a simple shower alone, there was no way they would allow me to take baths on my own in the future.

That was what I was trying to avoid by being so secretive and adamantly claiming I was all right.

I even went as far as saying I was hungry even though I wasn’t to get Jin-Yeok off my neck.

With the others lying down, they wouldn’t be able to see my back either.

This was perfect.

But... There was one thing I overlooked.

What if Jin-Yeok returned while I was still getting the massage?

This was hard work. This was seriously hard work?

Should I just forfeit the idea of getting a massage?

My body trembled lightly.

Seriously, I needed it, but if the only way to get what I wanted was to keep hiding my back, then I would have to...

"What are you waiting for?" I suddenly heard Seo-Jun speak out.

He was already lying on the bed on his belly, his arms folded and his chin resting on them.

"Didn’t you hear him? He said he was hungry so you should go get him something to eat in the meantime." Seo-Jun said, which surprised me.

Was he... Helping me?

No. I shook my head. He probably just wanted to piss Jin-Yeok off and had discovered how to do it. Just look at that grin on his lips.

He was such a menace.

"Jo-Pil," Jin-Yeok suddenly called, and I turned my head towards him to find out that his smile had disappeared, and he was looking at me rather seriously.

"Yes, master?"

"Can you come out with me for a moment?" He asked and I felt my body freeze up.

It seemed like my attempt to hide it made it so obvious that I was hiding something. And Jin-Yeok had gotten so restless that he couldn’t leave it up to me to tell him if I was hurt or not.

I pressed my lips together.

It seemed like I wouldn’t be having my baths by myself for quite a while. Or maybe... Never.

I released the hem of his shirt and nodded.

He held my hand and then led me through the other door but before we entered completely, he said,

"Don’t worry. The talent of the masseuse is second to none, so you can relax and leave your body’s care to them." He said but Seo-Jun clicked his tongue.

"You’re only saying that ’cause it’s your establishment. I’ll use my body to judge that." He said with one eye closed and his open eye on me.

He looked like he had something to say, but I kept my gaze down as if feeling guilty before I was charged for committing any crime.

"Very well then." He smiled and then turned around, the smile fading instantly into a dark gaze.

He didn’t look at me with that dark gaze but I could feel he was angry from the slight tremor I felt from his hand.

Why did it feel like I was in trouble?

The room he took me to was one similar to the own we just walked out from. A dimly lit white massage room with three massage beds and a gentle and relaxing aroma in the air.

Jin-Yeok closed the door, and stayed like that for a moment before turning around, faking a smile as he said,

"Jo-Pil, take off your shirt and... Show me your back."

Ah, I already guessed he had figured it out.

My palms became sweaty, but I rubbed my arm with it, my gaze on the floor, and my heart beat unsteady.

I was scared for some reason.

It wasn’t like he would hit me when he found out about the scald but the look in his eyes was frightening.

Maybe it was because I knew he was still having side effects from the withdrawal symptoms and could get violent without meaning to.

Though he was smiling, his eyes were raging.

"Why are you mad, Master?" I asked and I noticed him flinch.

"What are you talking about?"

Was he planning to deny it?

It seemed like he had forgotten about the ’ability’ I had gotten. The ability to read someone’s eyes to an extent.

"I can see it." I said, rubbing my arm nervously. "Is it because I lied?"

He stayed silent for a while and then covered his face with his right hand, which was still gloved.

We were outside, after all.

But let’s not go there.

He began to tremble, biting his lip.

"It feels like I’m incompetent." He said which shocked me.

Where did that come from?

"I’m so incompetent and unreliable that Jo-Pil can’t rely on me when he’s hurt, that’s what I’ve been thinking." He said and dropped his hand, revealing the hurt in his eyes. Hurt mixed with anger. "If Jo-Pil can’t even tell me something so simple, will he ever be able to take his problems to me in the future? I’d it because he feels I won’t be able to solve it? Or I don’t have what he needs? Those thoughts kept roaming my mind and it got me angry. Just how could I be so--"

"Wait, stop, stop." I quickly interrupted him.

This was getting out of hand. He was thinking in a completely different direction from where I was thinking while I was hiding the fact that I got burnt in the bathroom.

"You’re not incompetent or unreliable. Why would you think that way?"

He was the least incompetent. Just why...?

"If so, then why can’t you trust me with something like this?" He asked and I paused. "Till now, I’m not even sure what happened to you, and I want to confirm, but you’re being so awkward about it and reluctant. What else did you expect me to think?" He asked, looking desperate and I turned my face away, pursing my lips.

I guess I did make it a big deal.
