Matthias’ heart started pounding even harder hearing his wife’s sincere thanks and apology. Although he didn’t hate his wife, she seemed to deeply regret her actions at the party that hurt his feelings. In fact, Matthias loved his beloved wife’s attitude even more, who was too sweet in his eyes.

His right hand spontaneously stroked his wife’s head slowly. "Why are you apologizing to me? Is it because you still feel guilty after slandering me at the party earlier?"

Victoria’s smile widened. "Can you stop sweet-talking me? Didn’t I slander and criticize you today? But you can still sweet-talk me."

"No matter how you hurt me, I still can’t hate you."

"You’re so annoying! You’re making me feel even more guilty!"

"Then, you have to answer my question honestly."

"What question? Why did you follow my method?"

"Because I am very curious about what is really in your heart."

"Okay, I will answer honestly since it seems like you answered honestly earlier."

Matthias smiled mischievously. "Earlier you said you really wanted a divorce because I disappointed you today. After going through all this, do you still hold on to that desire?"

Her cheeks flushed red at the thought of him answering the question openly. "I’m actually starting to like you, Matthias."

His heart was pounding even harder hearing his wife’s feelings for the first time. Tears of joy moistened his eyes. "You... started to like me? Aren’t you lying to me?"

"Of course I won’t lie when it comes to my true feelings." Her hand reached for the back of her husband’s soft hand. "I really like you today. You were really focused on me even though many women were flirting with you. That’s why I started to trust you that you won’t hurt my feelings again."

"Victoria..."

"Honestly, I started to have a hard time hating you after you saved me earlier. If it were another man who became my husband, they wouldn’t necessarily have moved so quickly to save me. But you’re different from them. Even though I hurt your feelings, you still love me."

His smile grew wider hearing his wife’s sweet words. "Thank you for being honest with me. Just so you know, I really like women who are honest with me."

"But, that doesn’t mean I like you completely. You still have to fight to win my heart."

"Of course and I will not disappoint you again."

"If Amber wanted to stick to you again, would you still be tempted by her?"

Matthias rolled his eyes and slapped his forehead. "I never thought of her as a girlfriend. I just wanted to be friends with her."

"But, I just want to warn you. I don’t mean to ruin your friendship, but I want you to start keeping your distance from him."

"Are you jealous again?"

Victoria immediately looked away. "No, why would I be jealous?"

Matthias showed a sweet smile, slowly his lips kissed his wife’s lips for a few seconds. Victoria’s reaction was to round her eyes seeing her husband suddenly kiss her even though she was not ready. However, every time Matthias kissed her, she could not refuse it. In fact, she really liked the kisses that Matthias always gave, it felt soft.

Just a few seconds later, Matthias immediately ended the kiss by kissing his wife’s forehead. "It’s late now. I don’t want to bother you anymore."

Victoria nodded nervously while touching her lips where she had been kissed. "You should rest too."

"Just hearing you tell me to go to sleep makes me happy."

"Honestly, I feel calm after we talked earlier."

"Thank you. This way I get more excited to talk to you before bed every day."

Thanks to Matthias giving her sweet food before bed, Victoria could sleep soundly even though she had gone through a day full of obstacles. Only Matthias always managed to make her sleep soundly.

However, it does not mean that she slept until the next morning. In the middle of the night she woke up because she wanted to pee and drink. When she wanted to get down from the bed, she was surprised to see her husband sleeping in a sitting position on the floor.
