Chapter 95: A mini dragon.

"So, where is she or he?" Jun Muyang asked Chi Lian the moment he saw her. His neck was stretched and he was checking for the appearance of someone behind her.

"Who are you talking about?"

"Your rescue, you always come home with them as if they are stray puppies that need shelter." He said with his head shaking in confusion. Apparently he did not understand her need to save and bring those people home with her.

Tang Siming’s family was living with the Chi’s in the side manor; Jian Yu was living inside the mansion. It was only logical for him to assume that this new party would be close by.

And right on time, before she could defend herself, the big chef came running toward them with a bag of fried chicken.

"Savior, you forgot the fried chicken." She shouted very loudly. The woman did not have an inside voice.

"And there she is." Jun Muyang said whimsically.

Chi Lian rolled her eyes and walked into the hospital room. She had no defense in this case.

"Who is she?" he asked while following her.

"I will fill you in later." She said dismissively. "Mother, father, you are here." She walked to her parents who were sitting by Mei-Mei’s bedside happily.

"Chi-Chi, you are back, Muyang said you went out to buy something." Her mother said.

"Yes, fried chicken, I went out to buy this fried chicken." She repeated for emphasis while holding the bag of fried chicken up.

Her mother looked confused. There was more than enough food in the room, why was she out buying fried chicken.

"I really wanted to eat some fried chicken." She emphasized for clarity.

"Okay, come close and see the toy your father and brother have been working on. They brought it for Mei-Mei to play with." her mother proudly said.

Even papa Chi looked proud and smug; this was the first accomplishment he had in such a long time. He was finally useful to his family. When the toys were on the market, he would call some of his old friends that he was still on good terms with and boast.

The toy Mei-Mei was playing with was a mini green dragon. It was walking all over the bed with its tiny clawed feet.

"Oh, you actually got it to look better than I expected." She was surprised pleasantly. Given the fact that the original materials of the toys were not in this world, they had to substitute almost all the materials so she expected about only forty percent likeness to the original. This was sixty to seventy percent. It was truly splendid.

"You haven’t seen the best part yet." Her father said eagerly and he touched the tail of the dragon. The dragon angrily roared and spat out some flames.

"Yeyyyyy!" Mei-Mei clapped excitedly.

"Wow, how did you do that? Do the flames burn?" Chi Lian was blown away. She touched the tail of the dragon and it did the same action.

"That’s enough." Muyang dragged the toy dragon away from the bed. "Children should not play with fire."

"No, son-in-law, the flames do not burn." Papa Chi was so excited to a point that his usual reserved countenance around Jun Muyang was gone. He had even gone to the extent of calling him son-in-law.

"You can touch the flame and check; it gives off some heat but doesn’t actually burn." Papa Chi put his under the flame, "See." He pointed for emphasis. "My hand is fine."

Chi Lian was excited; see could already see the money pouring in. Cha ching! Cha ching! The sound of gold coins falling down like a shower of rain went in her mind.

She pulled out her phone immediately and called Wenli immediately.

"Tell the marketing department to prepare, the toys are ready. We already have the ad, they can start running it tomorrow."

"Aren’t you getting ahead of yourself?" Jun Muyang asked. The first questions Chi Lian should have asked were how many toys had they produced and what capacity of demand could they satisfy. Were the raw materials constantly available? Had the technology been patented?

"Muyang, I prepared everything in advance, the technology was patented months ago. All that’s left to do now is start selling these little gold makers."

"Hmmm." Jun Muyang lifted the toy dragon and carefully observed it. "How many categories of animals do you have?"

"Six, for now." she answered.

"How are you planning to sell them?"

"Physically, I want us to open up our own toy shops in a few malls and hotels." She looked at him and said, "Speaking of malls, can you get me space in one of yours?"

"That would not be an issue, but I would like to offer a significant amount as an investment in the toy business. If all your toys are exquisitely made, mobile and unique, I think the market for them could be larger in other empires."

"Really." She smiled deeply.

"Of course, I have seen those television shows and movies with knights and dragons. Which boy in the British or American empire would not love to own a dragon?"

"In our empire as well, the dragon is one of our national mascots." Papa Chi jumped into the conversation.

"Well, I will not reject your investment but you have to talk to my brother, he is the CEO of Phoenix toys. As long the two of you reach an agreement, you can get some shares in exchange for the investment. Mei-Mei and I will sit back and enjoy the life of wealthy little ladies."

"Hmm, I will let you live like queens." Muyang rubbed the top of her head affectionately.

The door was opened and the Jun’s came in. Jun Muyang’s father unwillingly entered the room as well.

Chi Lian wanted to chase him out. Why was he acting as if he didn’t want to be here, she also didn’t want him here.

"Chi-Chi, I have been looking for you." The old madam headed for her immediately.

"Uhm, grandma, I had stepped out for a while."

"I know Muyang told me, my girl, your grandfather and I want to apologize for the actions of our eldest son. He was wrong, and he should apologize for what he did."

"Grandma, you don’t have to apologize to me, nothing that happened is your fault." She reassured the old day.

She could tell that the actions of chairman Jun were weighing on her.

"Chi-Chi," He Weili approached her tentatively as well, she was still married to the lunatic chairman Jun. "I am so sorry, please don’t leave our Muyang because of this." She pleaded softly.

"She can leave, my son is outstanding, and he can find another woman." Chairman sneered.

"Get out." Jun Muyang ordered his father.

"How dare you talk to your father like that? Who raised you to be so ill mannered?"

"Guards," Jun Muyang called. He did not want to waste time mincing words with his father. The man was like a leopard, it could never change its spots. Why was he even here in the first place? He neither liked Chi Lian nor Mei-Mei, so why bother to come?

"I dare you to touch me." Chairman Jun glared at the guards.

"Drag him out." Jun Muyang ordered.

The guards only listened to Jun Muyang’s commands and they dragged the chairman out like a log of wood.

"Why does he insist on doing things the hard way?" Chairman asked. "Girl, don’t worry about him, we approve of your relationship with Muyang, nothing that he says matters."

"Yes, Chi-Chi, he doesn’t matter." He Weili said.

"In –laws, we are very sorry for all the trouble that he has caused." The old master apologized politely.

Mama Chi immediately shook her head, "Please don’t be like that, we all have a troublesome relative or two. You just haven’t met ours but Muyang has met them. I hope you never meet them because I don’t know how I will face you after."

She did her best to console the Jun’s. "By the way, come and see Mei-Mei’s new toy." She eagerly pulled them to the mini toy dragon and distracted them.
