Transmigration: Lady Chi Woos The Ice cold Professor Jun -
Chapter 93: Stupid sales girl.
Chapter 93: Stupid sales girl.
"If I take you with me, what can you offer me?" she asked the big chef. "Because I have saved your life and cured your poison, going beyond that will simply be angelic of me."
Contrary to what Muyang said, she was not mother Teresa.
The big chef reined her unrealistic expectations in. This savior of hers was a stranger to her. She was neither her family nor her friend. Indeed why would a stranger take her in? But what was she supposed to do? She had no power, no money and no one. Her father was her only family and he was dead. His friends were not helpful and her only friend had betrayed her.
The woman started crying once more and Chi Lian cursed internally.
"Stop crying." She sternly told the woman. "You said you want revenge, how can you get revenge if you cry at every little obstacle?"
"What will I doooo....." the big chef wailed, "All I know is cooking." She latched onto Chi Lian’s arm and refused to let go. "Lady Savior, don’t abandon me."
Chi Lian pulled her arm persistently away from the tight hold of the big chef. The small weak woman somehow overcame her strength and tightened the hold on Chi Lian. To Chi Lian, it was amusing and surprising.
Her body was modified by the capsules and she worked out a lot. Not many people could overcome her strength. How was this woman doing it?
"Why are you so strong?" she asked in amusement.
"I grew up exercising because my father said that a chef needs to have a strong body." The woman let go and flexed her muscles while sniffling.
Chi Lian was about to respond when the smart watch on her wrist rung. She accepted the call and a mini hologram of Jun Muyang appeared before her.
"Muyang,"she answered.
"Where are you? He asked, "You have been gone for more than an hour. Mei-Mei is awake."
"I am on my way back."
"Whoa!, so cool." The big chef tried to touch the hologram. She was not the only curious one. A few people had stopped to stare.
"Stop it." Chi Lian pushed her aside slightly and the woman pouted unhappily.
"Chi Lian, there is footage of a woman rescuing a jumper on the Nayan river bridge. Is it you?" Muyang asked.
She scratched her cheek, wondering if she should tell the truth or not.
"You are wearing the same clothes as the woman in the video."
"Muyang, I did not mean to put my life in danger but I really had to rescue her. It was a favor for someone, I could not say no." she explained desperately.
Please drop the issue. She prayed in her heart.
"Just get back here soon." He said and hung up.
"Ooh, he is so mad." The big chef said comically.
"Just shut up and follow me." Chi Lian told the big chef. If possible, she wanted to get rid of the woman as soon as possible.
"But I am still hungry." the big chef whined.
Thankfully, they had reached the part of the road where T4 had delivered the bike.
Chi Lian opened the back part of the bike and brought out a bottle of milk and two cakes.
"Now, not another word out of you."
She threw one helmet to the woman and put on hers.
"Get on." She said.
The first place they went to was a mall. Both of them were wearing wet uncomfortable clothing and the cold wind slapping their bodies during the bike ride was a harsh reminder of that fact.
"Savior, I have no money." The woman said in a tiny mosquito like voice as they entered a luxurious looking shop.
"I know." Chi Lian said mockingly.
The sales girl who had approached them must have heard the big chef say she had no money because her smile quickly turned into an unwelcome frown.
"You are not welcome into our shop," she said.
Chi Lian ignored the woman and continued moving around.
"How dare you paupers ignore my words? I already heard your friend saying that you have no money. If you cannot afford our expensive clothes, please leave before contaminating the environment."
The sales girl looked at them as though they were vermin. To make it worse, she covered her nose as if Chi Lian and the big chef smelled so horribly.
"You even stink like rotten snails, get out." The sales girl screamed.
One of the other sales girls came by and looked at Chi Lian and the bog chef apologetically. "Xian Xian, stop it. You are embarrassing them." She said. She tried to pull the salesgirl now known as Xian Xian away but the girl refused to leave.
A small crowd of shoppers was beginning to gather at the door.
"They are obviously poor, why can’t they just leave?" someone said.
"Yes, they are making things difficult for everyone."
"They really do stink." A woman in the small crowd covered her nose with her shawl and waved her hand around to chase away the bad smell.
Feeling uncomfortable, the big chef pulled on Chi Lian’s arm and tried to get her to leave with her.
"I am not going anywhere." Chi Lian tugged her arm away from the big chef.
"I am going to call security sales girl Xian screamed like a banshee."
Chi Lian sneered, sat down in the chairs meant for VIP customers and crossed her legs. "Go on, call them."
"She is so shameless." Someone in the crowd said.
As the whispered continued, she stayed in the chair nonchalantly.
"T4, who owns this shop," she asked.
"Ctar house luxury brand of clothing is owned by Chian Ximeng. She is the daughter of business man Chian Wuzu who owns Star fashions. It is one of the biggest fashion houses in the empire.
Chian Wuzu has a saying, ’You don’t dress the body, you dress the heart.’ His daughter adheres to the same principal in her business."
"Young woman," Chi Lian raised her hand slightly indicating that the woman should stop shouting like a shrew. "Do you know who you work for?" she asked.
"Of course," sales girl replied proudly, "I work for Ctar house, which is under Star fashions."
"And what is the motto of Star fashions?"
The woman blinked like a clueless fool.
"You don’t dress the body, you dress the heart." The other sales girl who had been trying to pull Xiang away answered.
"What do you suppose that means?" she asked not just the sales girls but the crowd.
"Who cares, get out you poor hoodlums?" Xiang yelled.
Chi Lian stood up and stepped right into Xiang’s face. "Today, I am going to educate you on what it means because you have a rotten brain." She used her index finger to poke at Xiang’s forehead.
"It means, you have to care about the feelings of your customers, those who buy and those who don’t buy. If you capture the heart of your buyers, they will forever be loyal."
Just as she finished explaining, someone started clapping and Chi Lian turned around to see who it was. This was not some kind of noble speech, why would someone clap and make things awkward.
