Chapter 630: Jun Muyang’s widow
In the morning, Chi Lian insisted on leaving the hospital against the doctor’s advise. Why would she lay in bed pretending after what T4 had told her?
Muyang was injured, his left eye had been badly damaged in the plane crush. The rest of him was okay but the eye, T4 said, it was likely that it could not be saved.
She had observed his condition inside the submarine all night while Meili and the other robot butlers tended to Muyang.
Four of his men that were in on the plot were on the submarine as well, one had burns on his arm, another had a concussion and the other two were perfectly fine.
Yan Daya was unconscious, not from the accident but Muyang’s men made sure she was unconscious. All of her guards were dead, Meili had told her that they had been killed on the plane, before the crush.
"Chi-Chi, you cannot leave, what are you going to do?" her mother asked her.
She was very worried, and so was her father. All of the Chi’s were here by her bedside, together with the old madam and the children. Everyone wore a grave face, there was no update on the situation. Muyang was still missing.
"Listen to your mother, Chi-Chi, for God’s sake what exactly are you thinking?"
"I am thinking of going to look for my husband." she answered.
"Dear, your grandfather’s are taking care of that." her mother said, "Even the emperor has sent help and the coast guard is also looking. The helicopters from kite air are flying over the area, the search is on, what can you possibly do at the scene except to make everyone worry?"
"I don’t know, mother, but it’s better than sitting here idly." she answered. "My husband is out there, and he is injured." She surprised herself by crying genuine tears of pain and anguish.
It was not worth it, eliminating Yan Daya had not been worth this, why did he recklessly endanger himself so foolishly?
"Dear," the old madam held her hand while her mother hugged her from the back.
They cried with her, while Manchu and her brothers took the children out of the ward.
"What should we do?" In tears, Chi Lian asked the old madam, "Grandma, what should we do about Muyang?"
"He will be fine, Muyang will be fine dear, have faith, okay." the old madam assured her.
But her words barely comforted Chi Lian who knew the true physical state of her husband. Perhaps the elders had not yet had from the bodyguards about his condition, because if they did, maybe the old madam would have fainted.
After she calmed down, she still insisted on being released because she wanted to go home. While the doctor worked on that, she got one of the spare phones from the virtual storage and checked to see what was being said online.
Jun investments had released a statement, urging it’s clients to remain calm.
Jun corporation had released a statement asking for privacy from the media while they dealt with the sensitive situation.
Bear had been quick because Phoenix media too released a statement asking for privacy.
Still pictures of the family entering the hospital, the old madam wiping tears from her eyes and the old master looking down at the ground with his hands folded at the reception area of the hospital had been leaked.
A few provocative bloggers and online medias were calling Chi Lian ’Jun Muyang’s widow’ and claiming that no one had survived the plane crush.
It was also out there already that Yan Daya the daughter of the Yan family and a business woman had also perished in the crash. Some people were already speculating about the reasons why Yan Daya was on Muyang’s private plane.
One online user was already claiming that he or she had it on good authority that Yan Daya was Muyang’s mistress.
Using a private elevator, the family discreetly left the hospital and returned to the emperor’s courts. They found reporters outside with their microphones and cameras, aggressively surrounding every car that entered the courts. Some of them even had the number plates of every car of every aristocratic family, especially the paparazzi.
Chi Zimo was driving a blue car, one of the ones used in Rize’s wedding and it was recognized right away by those with sharp eyes so they surrounded the cars and started taking pictures despite the windows being tinted which made them unable to see inside.
"Is he really dead?"
"How long will you be conducting the search?"
"Was Jun Muyang dating Yan Daya secretly?"
"Is it true that Chi Lian suffered a heart attack last night?"
All manner of questions were screamed loudly by the press as soldiers who guarded the gates pushed them away and the cars finally entered the gates. The drivers drove at full speed until they reached myrtle house.
Rose was waiting outside the gates of the house, nervously pacing in a circle. She had gone for a sleep over at the Jiang’s last night. The girl had only received the news in the morning.
Chi Lian rolled down the window of the car and told the girl to get inside. Rose did not hesitate for a single second to do as Chi Lian said.
"Auntie," Rose turned around and burst into tears. "Auntie, what happened to uncle?"
"Nothing happened, your uncle is fine." Chi Lian told the girl.
"Auntie," Rose continued crying, "They are saying that he is dead."
"Those are lies, would I be in this condition if your uncle was dead. Listen Rose, I need you to stay home today. Do not go out and see your friends for a while. I know that school has resumed but your identity is known, I am afraid that reporters will hound you."
"I will contact her school boss." Old tiger said. "I am sure they give her some leeway."
Chi Lian nodded and scratched her head.
"Mother," she heard little monk’s small voice call and she looked at her baby. "Father," he said.
"Your father is fine." she told him. "Mother would never lie to you, father is fine and I will take you to see him, okay."
Before leaving, Muyang had explained what would be happening to little monk as much as he could but it was hard to tell whether he understood things clearly. He was a child, and he was bound to be scared and confused. He was not like Mei-Mei who had no idea about what was going on.
"Look," she showed him her smartwatch, "This is your daddy’s heart beat." She took his hand and placed it over her heart and after a while, she placed that hand over his. "When the heart is beating, it mean you are alive, daddy’s heart is beating. Later, I will even get him to talk to you on a video chat, okay."
Little monk was still frowning, but he nodded anyway.
"Auntie, is uncle really okay?" Rose asked her.
"Yes, he is really okay but you cannot tell anyone until he returns home safely." She told the girl. "If anyone that is not family asks you anything, just say that we don’t know anything yet."
