Chapter 619: I hate this!

"Don’t look." Muyang told her.

When he pulled her out of the room she thought it was because he wanted them to talk privately but as it turned out, he was simply unwilling to watch her look at another man’s private bits.

She chuckled, momentarily forgetting the seriousness of the situation.

"What? Are you jealous?" She teased.

"No, I am saving you from nightmares." He answered.

Old tiger managed to catch that when he stepped outside to invite another guard because the captive was wiggling and fighting. Why was he the one to suffer those nightmares and how could he check the man’s back area if he kept moving? It would have been simpler to knock him out but the boss might need to question him later so the probing would have to be done while the captive was alive.

Muyang sent in two guards to assist old tiger and while they held the captive down in place, old tiger sighed and donned latex gloves.

"You hate this, right? I hate it too." He said to the captive. "Why did you foolishly invade our house of all houses?"

The captives eyes widened because old tiger found something up there. It was tied onto a string and slowly with much carefulness, whatever he had attempted to smuggle inside was removed.

"So gross." One of the guards said. "You are one kinky bastard."

Smuggling things this way was common in prison but out of prison, not so much.

" Bring the UV light." Old tiger said this while looking over the long thin black item he had just pulled out.

He stepped out and said to Chi Lian, "Boss I don’t know how you knew it but you were correct in asking me to probe his insides. There was something up there, I don’t know what it is."

"Bring it." She told him.

"Should I wash it first?" He asked.

"No, until we know what it is nothing should touch it." Muyang answered.

Old tiger brought the device on a tray and the couple started studying it while old tiger checked the captive for hidden tatoos.

"So, what do you think it is?" She asked him.

The answer was something she had already with T4’s help. It was a small gas emission bomb, one that could be hidden somewhere and set on a timer to explode at anytime. What she did not know was the kind of gas inside, even T4 said they would need to open it up to scan the gas.

She could not share this information with Muyang however.

Muyang was frowning and squinting as he probed the device gently. "I don’t know yet but I bet it’s a weapon of sorts. He tried to break in when we were absent and at a time of the day when no one would be on guard. Obviously the plan was to plant it somewhere inconspicuous. Perhaps, it’s an explosive device meant to go off while we sleep in the night. With everything that is going on in the empire right now, nothing really surprises me anymore."

"But why come after us? Are they eliminating the emperor’s allies already?" She could only think a handful of reasons why they would be targeted like this.

"It’s probably retaliation for Wun electronics, what we did was no secret. I recognized part of the code which_" he broke off and sighed.

Should he be telling her all this when he was considering asking her to back away from this mess. He wanted them all to move to the castle in Greece for a while until everything cooled off.

"You should warn your friends then, you have said we and this might mean others are in danger too." She told him.

He touched the smart watch on his wrist to take a look at the notification which he had ignored a few minutes back. After reading what it said, he looked up with a sad and worried expression on his face.

She touched his shoulder and asked, "What is it hubby?"

"I was right, it’s retaliation for what we did. One of my colleagues was stabbed by the guard at his apartment building and another was pushed off his balcony by the woman who cleans his apartment."

"Are they _?" She did not complete the question. She did not need to.

"Both have soldiers who guard them so they were rushed to the military hospital and fed your pills immediately. I should go and wait from there, just in case."

She thought about something, and then she said, "Have your people check the doctors and ensure that they are who they say they are and can be trusted. If you are sure of nothing then take them to the people’s memorial hospital."

To her, just as she thought that those people could use Wen Li to get to her, they had used others to get to Muyang’s colleagues.

"Mmm." He nodded.

She hugged him tightly because she could not stop him from leaving, her embrace was filled with worry and anxiety. If she had her way, he would be locked up in a secure place which only she could access. But to him, it would never be an option to even consider because he was not the type of man to hide, especially not now when the empire faced uncertain danger.

"Stay home." He said and kissed her briefly.

"I will not endanger myself, I promise." She said. "I am going to question him."

He let go of her and left, looking back with every few steps that he took.

"T4_" she said.

"I will have Meili follow him." The system replied.

"Make another robot butler for the children, human guards are not enough." She told him.

"As you wish host." He said.

"Make four, one for each family as well, we cannot take anything for granted anymore." This one was an attack which was foiled however it managed to shake her up. The emperor was to blame for this, It was because he was rattling too many cages at once.

"Do you want to know how our Muyang and the others were discovered, host?"

"Yes," she said.

"He mentioned the code so I looked into it and found the source, the same person wrote the software protecting QB, Sinner, Wun electronics, Star club, Dragon entertainment and all the other companies we have so far tied to this. This individual is skilled, but they are not me, I can show him to you right now if you want."

"Show me." She said.

On the virtual screen, an image of a man sitting in front of a computer appeared. He was young, late twenties or early thirties. He had short cropped hair and wore large rimmed glasses. On one of his thumbs, she saw what appeared to be a ring with a bird.

"Where have I seen that bird?" She asked.

"Aoi organization." T4 said, "He must be one of the people on the list who got away. We are still searching for their killers and other missing workers. This one actually knows your husband because he was once an apprentice for Mujin according to my background check. He scrubbed all the information relating to himself online but he forgot that in the world of computers, even your code is an identity. I simply searched for traces of it in all of the places I have been. This guy has a back door in the computer systems of the police, army, some banks, companies, ministeries. I mean, he is doing the same thing I am doing but for the evil side."
